Amazing game, I sometimes glitch over the building walls though.

Hello gents
mj
I HATE THIS GAME
The game actually crashing is an interesting and immersive concept, kind of meta, but it's sometimes hard to know what to do.
I couldn't get past the first part, I tried to keep it stable before the lever just stopped having any effect and it would inevitably explode.
Could be quite decently fun if it was more fast-paced.
Lovely looking game, always remember to have some island margin/slightly oversized tile sets so you don't get the lines between tiles in the game.
Great graphics and audio, but the gameplay loop is a bit repetitive
I wasn't able to join or host a game unfortunately, was looking forward to a ludum dare multiplayer game.
Addictive, but what does the tree do
Very awesome game, only issue I can think of is that sometimes its a little hard to aim at enemies (maybe use mouse aim?), but other than that it's a super slick polished fun game. The health could tick down a little faster to make it more challenging as well.
Gotta love an entry made without an engine, good job. Once I worked the game out it was super fun, It could benefit from being faster paced though, as I had to wait a long time doing nothing while the ash spread before it was necessary to start doing anything. Other than that, very neat concept.
The Web version doesn't allow me to move the character, downloading the windows version worked though. The art style along with the subtle vignette made it look great.
Absolutely awesome entry, I loved it, only issue I had was working out what button to press to get past the title screen XD, found it was Enter in the end.
An incredibly good game, once I worked out how to play it was super fun. Loved the art and the polish. I just have a few nitpicks concerning the intuitiveness of the game:
After the first few tries I couldn't work out why I kept loosing, until I eventually found where I can turn the night back, It wasn't very clear that house was my manor and it was where I spent my energy to turn back time. It's also very hard to tell if a guard has spotted me or not, I don't really understand how the priests work (so I just kill them when they spawn and that seems to work fine). And finally, I couldn't for the life of me find the replay button on the game over screen (I couldn't tell the drawings on the paper where also buttons), I eventually worked out be clicking everywhere.
Really clever game, was actually quite enjoyable. The collision detection in general felt very off however, I would lose to red balls that didn't touch me. The mouse aim was also very inaccurate for me for some reason, it had a really odd sensitivity/undershoot issue. All in all though I really liked playing this entry.
Swell game dude
Props for doing it in your own engine, hard work!
Amazing concept, the abilities took some attempts to work out but after that I was having a blast. The camera might benefit from being moved slightly more to the right so that more of the future level can be seen.
For hosting a WebGL game on itch.io, you must ensure it's a .zip file with the index.html in the root directory. Also make sure you tick the box on your game page that says "this game will be played in the browser" so itch displays the game.
Very good idea and props to you for making this totally from scratch in C++, only issue I had was that at times the game would very inaccurately detect what square I clicked on and I would have to try again somewhere else on the same square. The game could also do with a health bar to show how close you actually are to loosing - I left it running with no towers for a fair while and didn't loose until I closed the game. However, decently fun.
Very fun, the GLaDOS-esk voice over was also very charming.
I had a pretty difficult time finding the barrels, but I had fun and it was really good use of the theme. Good job!
Fun gameplay, nice interpretation of the theme, could do with some sound and more levels though.
We did it!
Thanks @raptor851, Ill be sure to fix the linux build
Thank you so much everyone so far for the feedback!
@j0ye really good suggestion for the collider, thank you.
@allax would you mind expanding on how we didn't meet the theme correctly? Also I recommend you try the downloadable version if the online one is laggy for you.
I couldn't find the transformer, one time I just ran toward it and nothing would change.
The yellow square pickup sound is quite piercing and the health bar doesn't seem to reflect damage from bullets (though it is present due to me loosing when it is full). But I do love a good bullet hell and I liked the simple glowy style. Good entry!
No win state for the game :(
Nice witty game, the only issue I encountered was that the speaking sound still plays after I skip the dialogue. Also you may want to force people to full screen the game on your itch page since it doesn't work when the player is minimized.
The enemy bullets seem a bit fast but I eventually got the hang of dodging them. I don't think the retry counter is incrementing. All in all, decent 2D shooter.
Very awesome assets (I loved the music and models for the bases and ship), but for the gameplay: I couldn't work out what to do or where to go but I eventually found my way and entered the pipe repair mission which doesn't seem to work for me. And then the big guitar destroys the universe and the game ends.
It took me a while to work out I was meant to click the start text at the beginning to continue, I cannot do so after the game restarts either because the cursor stays locked btw.
I must have missed something or encountered a bug, but I walked through the maze and then went into the final tower and then that was the end of the game - I didn't need to visit the other rising platforms.
I also didn't fully understand what was being observed every ten seconds either.
Overall, the game looks amazing, I absolutely love the vibe it gives off, very old skool PC + ratchet and clank almost - totally my thing. The music was also really vibey.
5/5 All categories, easily the best one I've seen so far. Rest in power Terry A. Davis. Got a highscore of 6800.
Haven't got much to add on top of what everyone else has already said, my one piece of feedback would be that it gets tedious having to move my hand to the mouse to use the game menu, when the tutorial and the rest of the game is entirely played through the keyboard - consider making the game just played on the keyboard. Really, really good game man.
A lot of the time I couldn't tell easily if I had been hit by the enemies, there needs to be more indication. Sometimes the enemy placement felt a bit cheap, but other than that, it was a fun spooky game to play.
Also the web version is a bit broken, the resolution is too big for my screen (I have 1920x1080) so I can't see my health.
I think my health/power bar broke, it wasn't contiguous. I didn't really understand attacking enemies, it seemed a bit luck based as to how I could minimize damage, I sometimes couldn't tell if I had hit them. I really liked the animations and art though, also good sound design.
I found it super challenging, but a lot of fun - It was hectic but I had to be strategic. I personally don't mind the graphics too much, some other bits of spice to the gameplay would've been cool, like walls or something chasing you. Overall, really fun entry!
Main problem I had was the game felt like moving through molasses, especially when I jumped. What made me lose was arrows falling down and not dropping the apples which clogged up the sky and made it tedious and difficult to complete quests.
Spingus
@schlock Yeah we probably didn't balance the animal hit penalty well enough with the level constraints.
