@bios3008 We’re working on getting a Windows build! Stay tuned
Windows build now available, enjoy!
There is something to be said about education games, and today I've learned about two new cells. :D I did enjoy the restrictive combo of the two cells, added to the challenge and made me really think about placement. Obviously it'd be cool to see more maps and towers, but overall good entry.
Very good idea and props to you for making this totally from scratch in C++, only issue I had was that at times the game would very inaccurately detect what square I clicked on and I would have to try again somewhere else on the same square. The game could also do with a health bar to show how close you actually are to loosing - I left it running with no towers for a fair while and didn't loose until I closed the game. However, decently fun.
You should make it easier to lose. I had 13 coins and couldn't make anymore towers.
Today, I learned something new about cells! Very cool. :D Love the idea, however, I miss the health bar - didn't know if I somehow missed some germs or not.
@sammot -- sorry about the frustrating placement experience. The tower placement doesn't snap to the grid, so they require that no part of their hitbox overlaps with the path or blight. This could have been made clearer by either showing a ghost of the tower hitbox as well as the blocking hitbox when placement fails or by offering a toggle to allow grid-aligned placement (this would be especially useful later in the game when you might be trying to fit into one tile; placement is definitely unpleasant in those situations). Glad you enjoyed otherwise.
@stankaholic -- we definitely noticed this before we shipped, but only addressed it with 'r' to reset being available any time. This should have been noted in the UI and emphasized if a "waiting to lose" situation was detected.
@katsuhira -- glad you enjoyed. We'll keep that in mind if we do another tower defense.
Nice take on tower defense, I really liked the wounded skin mechanic that limited your placement.
Cool idea for tower defense. Obviously, the game would benefit from more types of towers and enemies. Nice game mechanics with limiting space and art style. Good job!
The way the skin deteriorates and affects the towers is really neat! I do wish it was a bit more transparent as to how exactly it damages said towers. Still great idea and nice job!
cool take on a tower defense! Never played one where your towers degrade over time, that made it HARD. Really liked how the screen filled up with infection over time.
Well done
