This is a pretty good platformer. There's really not much to say about it. It works, it's fun, there are no obvious problems with it. Good job!

Very cute game. Well done!
Unbearably cute! I have a six year old daughter and she'd love this. Might show it to her tomorrow (it's the middle of the night here). The art is absolutely fantastic, especially given the time constraints, and it's pretty neat how you managed to work in all the staple platformer abilities in usable form, plus wobbly platforms, in such a short time. I do feel like the camera could use some work if you continue to polish the game, it was a bit jerky and sometimes got frustrating in the sense of not being able to see where I wanted to go. I also couldn't seem to find a quit button and had to CTRL+ALT+DEL out which is a bit of no-no from a usability perspective. But clearly since I found all the collectables none of that was game-breaking. Fun little kid-friendly game that I could easily see getting polished up and sold over the upcoming Christmas season.
(accidental double-post, ignore!)
I really liked the level design, it was nice backtracking with the new abilities. it was a bit unclear which of the other creatures would hurt me or which ones I could use as a platform though.
Thanks @erukolindo, @yamzho, @polymathld and @jibberwocky! Good points made, those are exactly the issues we still have with it. The Esc button should have worked so we're going to put up an update with that fixed; as well as the creatures: apparently they bugged out in the game build so that they don't move and also don't hurt you  will be fixed in the bug fix version as well.
Cute little platformer! Great entry!
I think this is an enjoyable little platformer you have there. The abilities was quite well done as well!
I realy like this game. The sound and art are awesome. Unfortunaly it seams I have an other keyboard layout as you and the game don't realy handle this well. The shown keys were not always the correct one, so I tried the game by try and error. But it worked out and I could collect all snowflakes
cool game I really like the attention to details like rounded screen edges in menu and snow particles, also found the ester egg lol, nice mechanics
Cute little game, it does start a bit hard but after you unlock all the moves it gets kinda easy. I wish there was a snowflake counter because I think I got them all but it doesn't end.
I did find the easter egg :)
Oh and I spent way too long at the start trying to ride the turtle :D
Cute game design! Nice work with the sound, captures the mood of the cute animals while conveying a sense of danger when an enemy is near.
Unfortunately I don't know if it's because of your new camera tweak or not, but as the camera follows the penguin very closely, it jumps a lot every time I die and splash back in the water. Otherwise the camerawork is fine, it's really just the respawn point that was an issue.
I enjoyed your take on the theme. Well done!
Thanks a lot @chesschaser @shade2810 @devundead @0x-void-x0 and @barrier !
@devundead It's Unity's Input System that handles the keys, you'd expect it to know azerty etc... But good to know - and if we'd publish it we'd make the keys configurable of course.
@barrier did you not see the snowflake counter in the top left corner, like in the screenshots? Oh, maybe I have the anchors set incorrectly for that \*oops\*
Thanks very much @jane-wei ! Yes, it was a very quick fix that messed up the camera smoothness on respawn; I took that loss for now as the main camera movement now does work much better and I had to work rn, will probably do another bug fix over this one ;)
@barrier so sorry about the turtle haha. He is actually meant as your ride across the world when it becomes too big, but we're not quite there yet. He will be much more than decoration in the (near?) future however indeed! Thanks for testing and for the compliments :) hope you found the snowflake counter now!
@ghuyajil @ceetjeuhh So I ran it again and I think I see the snowflake counter just out of screen bounds. Thats what I get for buying a extra wide monitor :D
counter.png
@barrier thanks, yes that is the only way it would go off-screen haha... I have fixed the anchor point so this will be fixed in the next bug fix version; thanks for letting us know :)
Solid little platformer! I liked the level design where you teased me a little bit with snowflakes that I couldn't reach, and then it was oh so satisfying when I could get them. :) Had a few little bug issues with the penguin walking backwards but it sorted it's way out pretty quick. Overall cute game!
Thanks you @pixelydian! There are definitely a few issues to iron out with the physics-based movement approach... glad you liked it!
when I enter the water I am catapulted out and the effect bothers me a little. Sometimes the jump isn't immediate. I really like the style: 3 the level is not very difficult, it took me very little to finish it: 3 When I saw the turtle I was a long time pressing A without anything happening, I would enter visual feedback! Good job
Thanks @giulychu! Yeah we should have taken the turtle out, it does not actualy do anything right now ;)
Overall a good game, the only thing that's disturbing me is when the air jump is unlockable and i had to go so far to get the wall jump only to come back to get air jump and some unreachable snowflakes and tutorials before the game starts instead of placing it in the settings. Other than that anything else seems good. Thanks for the game!
So my team was not the only one that had snow and ice as a theme. Nice one! :v:
Lovely cute Penguin! I love this game mood
@bgdc Thanks, you should get a message on screen for the keys you need to use at the start and any time you unlock a new skill... did you not get those?
Thanks @chillertyp and @yikescloud!
@ghuyajil yes i did got that
Really like this entry! The movement did look choppy and my jump input was sometimes ignored (I think it happened on not completely flat surfaces the most) but other than that I had fun. Well done
A cute little game.
Cool entry bruh. I had fun, was cute. Sometimes my jumps were not registered. I liked collecting the snowflakes. Good art!
Thans so much @animalx @jk5000 and @robbietaco! We're aware of the not jumping bug (as well as the likely cause), and the camera movement definitely needs some polish indeed, but thanks for the feedback.
Congrats on making it, very cool entry my last LD Entry was about a Penguin too  I really like the music and sound effects fits the environment however the controls are little clumsy try to add smoothness to the camera maybe cinema chine and ray cast checks instead of collisions, Well done!
Really liked how the progression system for the abilities opened up the level. Cute graphics and pretty tight controls. Two pieces of feedback: 1) the camera locked so tightly to the characters movement is a bit disorienting - consider using a softer tracking in the future. 2) seemed like the jump button didn't always register leading to some unfortunate deaths. Overall though, really enjoyable. Great job!
Fantastic game!! I really loved the music and the progression. It made the whole game super fun - made me feel like i was getting better and better the whole time. Really really well done :)
Just 3 quick peices of feedback: 1. Adding Cayote time to your jumps will make the platforming feel much much cleaner. Cayote time is where if you run off a platform and jump it still lets you jump. it's a short window of like a half a second or something, and it feels really good. 2. Perspective is really really important in a platformer (in terms of relational distance between objects), and it felt like because the camera was so tightly tied to the player i couldn't always get a perspective of where i was or where i was moving to. 3. When the player dies, it helps to have a small transition - even just waiting a brief second with a "oof" or a particle effect for the penguin disappearing makes a big difference. It gives the player a small breathing window to be able to process what just happened. Short respawn times are really good, but too short and it can be disorienting.
Otherwise, this was fantastic!! The music and the sound effects and the progression were so so good. Really well done :)
PS - found the egg
Thanks so much @wassim @echo-gameworks and @britt-henderson!
Valid points of feedback as well; the camera was a bit smoother before but had a huge deadzone, but I didn't want to really change it anymore after the jam since that's not fair ;)
The 'dying' transition was planned to be falling into the water and the penguin setting off to swim back to the last point where he could reach a shore, the jump out of the water - so that you feel that he's not actually dying. But, not enough time ;)
And also agreed that the physics definitely need a few more iterations to be snappy and feel great.
Fun platformer and nice character art, I like the turtle. The level layout is good and the wobbly platforms are fun too, good work!
@soul-grinder thank you!!
