LD49 — Unstable

Very nice! Great concept, and fun to carry out, though very tough. I would have liked some way to slowly lower the blocks, maybe by holding the left mouse button? Not so slowly as to make it trivial, but enough to have some hope of completing some of the later designs without building a ton of extra supporting bits.

Would also have liked a way to check the controls from in a building session - when I quit and went back to the menu to check the controls, the game couldn't load levels again until I refreshed my tab. But that's minor ofc.

Kyle vs. The Universe by notApollogising 2021-10-10T13:10:45Z

Fun game, lot of cool stuff here. Amusing story, nice gameplay.

Formula Dare by Taffaz 2021-10-10T12:12:37Z

I really like this concept, but I could not quite get my head around it - there's a lot to take in all at once! I also wasn't super clear on what some of the numbers and letters meant on the dice slots. The help text explained some of it, but not all. Sadly I never managed to do more than qualify and lose. Cool though!

Atomic Pool by Oune 2021-10-09T10:56:17Z

The concept is pretty cool, was tricky to get the hang of it at first but quite cool to watch when the reactions started reproducing themselves. I'm not sure if I got any better at playing it, but was an experience.

The Unstable World by Fliflifly 2021-10-10T10:11:45Z

Cool concept! I like the changing on/off blocks, maybe they could even change more quickly than every 5 seconds? Also found the initial movement speed a little slow to get going, made some of the platforming a little more clunky than it might have been. Note: I only played the original version not the bug fixed one because I don't have a 7z extractor on this machine, so disregard any comments that don't apply there :)

Prakzar's Problematic Potion Puzzle Pit by Echo GameWorks 2021-10-10T19:06:50Z

Score 380, lvl 12 :) Very cool idea and entertaining presentation. It's fun how chaotic how things can get.

Game Invaders by Adrieldf 2021-10-10T10:00:17Z

Nice art, fun audio, and I enjoyed the ever increasing powerups - though I would have liked it to get even more crazy later on instead of just increasing spread - add some homing bullets or rockets or lasers or something to make it feel more 'buggy/unbalanced' ;)

As others have said the start was a tiny bit slow. Also I didn't realize you could fly up and down for a while - it's my mistake, but maybe some little clue you can do it like a couple of sideways attacking enemies that force you to move vertically would be nice.

Snowbody's Mountain by WeAreDev 2021-10-11T11:52:29Z

Nice work! Looks cool and quite finished, good job. And I like your snowflakes better than mine!

Frosty Wobble by Ghuyajil 2021-10-05T14:07:52Z

@barrier so sorry about the turtle haha. He is actually meant as your ride across the world when it becomes too big, but we're not quite there yet. He will be much more than decoration in the (near?) future however indeed! Thanks for testing and for the compliments :) hope you found the snowflake counter now!

@soul-grinder thank you!!

Damaged In Space by Boneshot Studios 2021-10-10T18:59:47Z

Nice ship sprite :) Game was fun

Fire Risk by Soul Grinder 2021-10-10T10:35:56Z

Really cool game, love the theme and the balance between falling fast to win and wanting to collect stuff for points. Also very satisfying to slide down the slide of a big stack of blocks and melt them all :) Getting points for melting platforms is an inspired choice. I only managed a B+ score after 3 attempts, haha.

Benji's Boat by MargotLsdgt 2021-10-08T10:40:58Z

Fun game concept :) Like Lakea I couldn't get the boat to steer with arrow keys, so it was just rearranging stuff, but still entertaining. It did feel like there were points where all your cargo would just fly off regardless of what you did, but with a little more polish this could be very compelling.

A Crowded Place by DestroyerTech 2021-10-10T11:05:39Z

Congrats on your first game! The concept was interesting with the theme, I was intrigued enough to get all three endings. My only real comments would be: 1) I think the game doesn't need to last as long, 3 minutes or so is actually quite a long time - on my 2nd+3rd playthroughs I left it to do something else while the timer counted down 2) It's easy to get the 'good' endings if you can just make it to a wall and face outwards - you could avoid this by having some kind of barriers that you can't pass but the NPCs can, so there's always a risk of there being people in front of you and you can't just leave the game running - but maybe it's nice to be able to solve it by facing a wall.

Unstable: Incendiary Cargo by LucasGlass 2021-10-10T10:27:07Z

Great fun, very solid physics! I'm glad I tried practice mode first though or I probably would have given up after the first few checkpoints. Funny detail about the bombs flaming out their fuel and becoming dud, I certainly didn't realize that while playing. On the final checkpoint I managed to flame out all three nukes, lol.

Meteorite Meltdown by Grace Schorno 2021-10-08T10:48:59Z

Cool game, a nice challenge! I liked how the up/down movement was different to get the sense of free falling. Very polished, great music. The idea of some person just jumping into a huge crater is pretty funny too.

I got a bit of lag every time when the radioactive tentacle bits first rise up near the end, but it wasn't really an issue.

Rocket Goblin by LittleBeardMan 2021-10-09T11:00:23Z

Haha, very cute game, loved the goblin and their rocket! Also liked the mechanic of exploding when you get too fast, nice balancing act.

Vive la révolution by felixwentzel 2021-10-07T20:42:43Z

Cool game! I really like the concept, would be fun with a few more items, and maybe multiple control points so you can get some real push and pull going with the police. It was already nice to see them moving around, made it feel more lively.

The molotovs are a bit too powerful given how the police cluster up right now, and maybe it would be cool to have looting be specific buildings rather than every single building in the city - makes each looting more satisfying and cuts down on busywork of sending your people everywhere.
