Nice game. Love the ominous music.

Describing the theme with chain reaction is a neat idea. The music is nice.

It was really satisfying breaking the glass balls, it seemed at the start like I would have to be strategic, but things moved too fast for me to think, and led to me often just jumping up and down on the bulbs mindlessly, which was still fun.

I wish throwing bulbs was useful, the Super Mario Bros 2 animation was cute. Good game!

Neat game, and pretty cool concept! The music is really nice; I'm a sucker for choirs so I really liked it! Just like the commenter above me, things got pretty out of hand pretty quickly, so I ended up only really focusing on trying to dodge projectiles rather than strategising for maximum points. That said, because there was so much going on in the larger chain reactions, I wasn't very successful in my dodging haha. Nice work!

This is a very solid entry overall, but I think it has a few issues. First one is balance -- I think, it's a bit off. The yellow homing ball does basically nothing (which, I guess, is intentional, because of its strong tracking), but the poison cloud is basically an instant kill. I think, there are ways to improve it (like, relaxing the tracking on the yellow ball and making it viable to use it to destroy other potions)

The second issue I found is the downtime. The combo system is very interesting, but the player cannot really use it to their advantage. I guess, there are boulders and fire, that can be used to destroy potions, but the best strategy is to completely avoid this system and just try to dodge the obstacles. I think making it so the potions destroyed by those effects don't spawn new effects would be a step in the right direction. Maybe, introducing some positive effects would be as well, I dunno.

Really cool game! I agree with others that braking the potions is very satisfying. The graphics are amazing and the audio is on point. I think the gameplay just needs to be further tweaked in order to take the game to the next level. Overall this is a super impressive submission and you guys should definitely be proud!

Good job with the game. I think the chain reaction mechanic was a nice use of the theme and the series of different effects you would get after breaking one of the potions was pretty cool. I did feel the throw was a bit difficult to use effectively since it didn't have much horizontal velocity. Also I think it would have been nice if you could pick up potions from the side instead of needing to jump ontop of them. Overall though pretty fun game.

Wow, what a neat idea! It's sort of like controlled chaos- you want to smash just enough to manage. Could have used a few more destructive potion effects I think, to keep it exciting. Besides that this was really fun to play!

rengo 2021-10-10 18:48

pretty nice and chill game. but the combo system is a bit weak a bit more excitement would be good

Score 380, lvl 12 :) Very cool idea and entertaining presentation. It's fun how chaotic how things can get.

rookrules 2021-10-10 21:08

thought it was a really cute game, the only thing I didnt like was the control scheme but I changed it via JoyToKey which made the game easier for me to play :D

Great idea - It sucks to be Prazkar, and that he has a sad expression was an excellent touch.

I'd tweak the controls slightly - probably make space jump and something else (e?) pickup but I liked the idea. As others have mentioned, the combos felt harder to make use of than I wanted but very cool despite that.

good stuff :) i think having a way to heal would be helpful, if there isn't one already

dob 2021-10-10 21:47

This is really cool. Like some of the other commenters, I think it would be a little more fun if you had more of a chance to build chains - I couldn't really get that to work, although I tried. They'd just break, or other potions would fall and get in the way. I really liked the potion bottle animation - very, very solid, even as they were rolling, and the physics was great. Music and sound effects were very cool also. Nice work!

The pace of the incoming potions, and some difficulty with the input (it seems that the pick up action don't always work, and often selects the potion under the player) made me feel the poor Prakzar was in a ball pit made of pain  The "are you seeing this sh*t too" face could mean this is intended

Good and original entry. Keep up the good work!

Liked this game, simple yet fun, will train to beat your record :)

A good twist on color matching games. May have been good if it started out with only a couple colors and introduced more later on, but I managed to get a score of 216 :)

jonah-srg 2021-10-21 15:23

A frantic little arcade action game, I quite like it. The breaking of the beakers is very satisfying. They are quite fragile, so moving them around to match up the colors is pretty challenging. The auditory feedback is really well done. I found the toughest obstacles were the yellow beaker's seeking projectile and the grey beaker's toxic sludge, those two did the most damage to me. I got to around level 9, and at that point I was letting the beakers break themselves as they were coming in so fast. Really well done!
