really nice weird game
The music gets repetitive (does it restart every screen?) and it's very short, but start to finish it's fun! Plus kudos on using Python and making something fun like this.
i have a bug with screen mode ,and i see only looding in game but i see this a good game
hmmm? I wonder whats going on there. Maybe you can post a screen shot. :) thanks for giving it a go either way.
@michael_faragher It repeats, rather then restarts. I recorded about 40 seconds on the piano in the morning...Far as my musical talent would stretch. :D The weird notes for each click get a bit crazy after a while. Thanks for playing.
loved the music (in all its weirdness), fun little game, not much going on overall, but with a nice atmosphere. brilliant choice of colors and a good feel for graphics
As an "artistic experience" I really enjoyed this! Yes, more a narrative than a game, but very evocative.
I actually really like these "experience" type games and this one was pulled together quite well - especially for a 2/3 day project! I thought the music went really well with the story. It was a sort of haunting feel. Great job and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!
Really lovely game! Extremely evocative
Game was pretty interesting. I don't think it mattered what choices you made though... Overall pretty cool
@fromthechasm sadly, Windows Defender thinks the executable to be a virus and auto deletes it on download. It doesn't even allow me to add an exception, it's axed even before it touches my PC :/
I have tried to download the version hosted at itch.io. System: Windows 10 Professional, game downloaded via Google Chrome.
**EDIT: it was a stupid false positive by Windows Defender, I HATE IT - now it works and it is easy to download**
Very nice experience! Short as the game may be, the visuals and the audio convey the atmosphere very well!
A shame that you missed the compo deadline :/
very interesting concept, with polished art it could be really great!
Both the art style and the music are really lovely. The story is interesting, but I wish there was more. In some cases I was confused, why some decisions are a Good Idea or a Bad Idea. More explanation would have been nice. I like the thanks to stackoverflow at the end. Ah, what would we all do without it :) The mood of the game is very nice. Good job!
It was a bit hard understand, but it was unique. The music and art contributed to a mood. Looks neat overall.
I didn't understand the story and had no idea what was happening while I played it. The game didn't crash and maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I knew the story from edgar allan poe.
So much brown - I love it! The visuals were really great and the music good. But I felt like it needed a bit more narration, both building up to each option but even more so after the choice. I'd love to know more about the outcome of the choice and why it was good or bad. Perhaps in steps so there's a bit suspense if I did right or wrong.
@der-mondhase I'm very sorry about this. I've not heard of anyone else having a problem like yours. Perhaps there are some settings in your Windows Defender you'd need to change. I probably wouldn't risk it, in case of forgetting to change it back. I'll try and work out how to make it web-compatible next time, to provide better accessability.
@fromthechasm funnily enough, trying to download it now had no issues. I wonder what in Norton's name did Windows Defender smoke when I tried two weeks ago :/
@fromthechasm is there a way to make it full screen? The window gets cropped on my pc... EDIT: it was the default scaling in Win10, by setting it to 100% it worked fine.
@der_monhase I coded it in, to be fairly small. I'd have to change a few things to make it fully resizable. Maybe, by the next one, I'll know how.
Interesting game. I enjoyed the music and art. Story was a bit sparse, but interesting. I'm not sure if my choices mattered. Played through a number of times and things always went well.
I finished with zero peril. I will try with other choices.
Thanks for the game.
