LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Permafrost Pirouette by Junber 2020-10-16T18:23:32Z

Fun to play, music and sfx fit well, the only improvement I could think of would be to make the dash move you in the direction you are already moving instead of where you are trying to move. As it is now, when playing on a keyboard you can only dash in 8 directions, not in any direction.

Cascade by Joe Cowman 2020-10-17T08:06:48Z

Really nice concept, I like these kinds of puzzle games. I had a little difficulty dragging the blocks though as it usually moved just as I released it, ending up in the wrong place.

The Lord of Time by Aggrathon 2020-10-17T08:01:54Z

The mood fit nice and there were quite a few features and traps that made it interesting, what I would like to see improved in my opinion would be a little less floaty in the air.

Etracyte by bentglasstube 2020-10-10T14:20:17Z

I like the pixel art of the game and also the sfx. Movement felt good but I would have preferred to have the jetpack on a different button than the jump one. I wasted a lot of jetpack fuel when I wanted a normal jump just because I was slightly airborne. I see a lot of people mentioning the same planet over and over, had the same issue.

Etracyte by bentglasstube 2020-10-11T07:54:43Z

@bentglasstube played the web version on a windows machine.

Hamster Simulator by ruthiepee 2020-10-17T14:08:29Z

Cute artwork and great animation. The sound gave it a humorous side. Though when it came to actual gameplay it lacked. It could use some kind of goal, perhaps keep the hamster happy and not spin it to death.

Nucleus Loop by m.dam 2020-10-07T16:38:24Z

Liked the 3d models. I found it very difficult to pick up the coins, you could make their colliders a bit larger perhaps. And also when you touch the glow that chases you, It felt like you died a bit to early so maybe die when it has covered half of the player character could be a suggestion.

PARAD🕑X SECURITY by grizeldi 2020-10-07T06:19:13Z

The low poly graphics looked great and the music and sfx fit very well. I would personally have liked more precise movement, slid around quite a bit. The jump was very low and I never seemed to be able to dodge the anomaly's attacks.

Stranded by Verso 2020-10-05T21:58:53Z

Overall solid game, good music, good art, easy to understand. Quite relaxing late at night actually. Could have used some extra challenge, perhaps getting hurt if you touch the crabs.

Chaos in the Cabin by Moritz Jaeger 2020-10-16T18:15:14Z

Hilarious idea! I don't mind not being able to perfectly control the character but I think it was moved too little when pressing the buttons. Sometimes I wondered if I was pressing the right buttons.

Need More Space by wheatleyscience 2020-10-07T06:32:22Z

Visuals, sound and UI looked really good, well done. I would have liked the pick up animation to be a bit faster but that a very minor thing.

Cercle funeste by LoicLeGrosFrere 2020-10-10T14:48:37Z

Really cool game once you understood it, I like puzzle games and this was really well implemented. Liked the mood set by the visual and sfx, good job.

Leftfoot Louie by TwoBitMatt 2020-10-11T07:52:57Z

A fun little game, the aggressive police was great. Had a bit of problems with ghost collisions otherwise good job.

PRISON STATION O by xSooDx 2020-10-07T07:00:18Z

Cute little management game, liked the style and mood of it. The screen jitters a bit when moving and I once got a breach right in front of the bed that I couldn't fix, kept sleeping and lost.

Among Stars and Robots by jaoel 2020-10-05T21:31:47Z

Looks great and felt polished, I would have like some kind of indicator of how many instructions you could use. I thought I could only use 3 until the last two levels. Got unnecessarily difficult ^^

Mirror Space by AlexTagun 2020-10-06T08:23:50Z

Looked good, played good, sounded good, didn't understand it at, especially the upgrades but after the first few deaths it got clearer :) got iteration 7

once upon a time in my weird endless dream by Withee Poositasai 2020-10-17T09:56:42Z

Really nice game, well done! Music fit perfectly, the visuals were great. I sometimes misplaced a tile since it gets automatically placed if you release the mouse without moving it over the board. Lets say you start dragging a tile but then change your mind and want to use another one you cant. I also encountered a bug after resetting a level, the character reached the end and teleported outside of the level and kept walking instead of to the other side.

O O O by RexTGun 2020-10-06T08:36:02Z

Didn't unlock the last level but the game vas really fun, good job! Only improvement I can think of is solving the problem when your pad goes "offline" after hitting the puck and then comes back on top of the puck, but then I guess if your fast enough this wont be a problem.

A Year by BjornStahl 2020-10-05T19:36:38Z

Just had a thought, since this is a text based game and I didn't make the font, should I have opted out of graphics?

A Year by BjornStahl 2020-10-06T14:26:38Z

@melvinng @profugo-barbatus Yeah it's a bit difficult to get out of negative food unfortunately. I'll have to change the production balance later after the vote is done.

The Cursed Knight by djayne 2020-10-24T09:22:21Z

The game looked nice and sounded nice, unfortunately it felt a little off. I think this is because of how fast the character moves in relation to the camera and how zoomed in it is. When running at full speed the character is almost at the edge of the screen so you cant see what's coming up a head. Would also have liked more feedback on the combat, didn't know the timing of the attacks so just ended up spamming them. Liked the story of a character that want strength too much and managed to reach the witch and beat her, although I got there by just running and jumping, ignoring everything.

Fun Colors by AmusingFrog 2020-10-24T09:12:15Z

Nice simple little game, the cubes feel very floaty, difficult to move, in the end you have to hold the correct button down from the moment it spawns until it hits to have the time to move it. A suggestion would be to reset the button after the cube despawns. Since you need to press that button into the very end to have time to move the cube you wont have time to release it when the new one spawns. This sometimes make it start moving in the wrong direction making it impossible to have the time to adjust since it's so floaty.

Loopin' Looie by MatthewDavisGames 2020-10-08T10:31:40Z

The game looked great, loved the style and animations. The music was good but the jumping volume was a bit to high. The movement and jumping felt good but if you press space twice you open the menu, maybe this was intended but was a bit annoying.

Save space engineer by Ellistar4eg 2020-10-11T08:06:38Z

I liked the character models, the were nice, also enjoyed the music. I would have like the movement to be faster it takes a bit to long to travel longer distances, both player and zombie move speed could be cranked up. The character walking animation wasn't really lined up with the direction of movement. The rifle had very slow rate of fire, I think it would be more fun if it had a higher rate of fire, maybe even automatic. It also fired a bit left of where you aimed, not a big problem since it was the same in any direction.

Mocksha by dJarv 2020-10-05T21:01:33Z

Not sure if I finished the game, didnt reach any end screen so I suppose i didnt solve everything. Enjoyed the look of the game but in my opinion I would have liked all input on the keyboard and not keyboard + mouse.

Dodöbius by KingBlop 2020-10-06T08:45:19Z

I did get past the first watermelon but the game later froze after entering the black box thing.

Returning Home by hansj 2020-10-06T08:12:37Z

Good game, the UI vas really nice, fun to earn resources and upgrade. Sometimes a bit too few objects turning up, and the aim was a bit off to the sides, didnt shot at the cursor.

Returning Home by hansj 2020-10-06T13:18:47Z

@hansj Oh did not realize you could zoom out... ^^ Gotta play it again now, and that speed thing makes sense. One thing I remember now that I forgot to write is my first death was while reading the intro text, should probably be invulnerable while reading :)

LD49 — Unstable

Unstable Towers by adamk33n3r 2021-10-05T14:36:30Z

Worked nicely, I managed to build quite high but in the end I found the timer too long in between placing large boxes to grind money for all upgrades. The text in the help section was very difficult to read, both resolution but mostly the font. Gamewise, a nice little game :)

QA - The Game! by Chartle 2021-10-08T11:27:43Z

Well done, I did really poorly, even my second run after having seen the pictures of the problems I could really find very many. I love the guy sitting in the air, I passed him twice thinking "Oh the devs missed that" not realizing he was one of the bugs I should find ^^.

Unstable Firefighter by digitaldude555 2021-10-05T14:54:30Z

Good take on the theme, I also had some problems with opening the doors but after walking away from it worked. Managed to save all and survive the second playthrough.

Monster Burger by Glen Chang 2021-10-08T11:11:47Z

This was really well done, you managed to make a full game, good job. The sound and graphics fit very well. I had a little bit of trouble in the beginning as there was no top bun on the recipe causing me to try to turn burgers in without the top bun, which obviously didn't work. When I figured this out I did quite well for a couple of runs until I got an order with 10 layers. I managed 8 but after that I couldn't move without anything falling of so the last 30 seconds I just stood still spamming ingredients hoping they would land on the burger :P

Formula Dare by Taffaz 2021-10-04T22:49:52Z

I like the idea and it was also well executed, but it was a little bit too many things, at least at the start, perhaps limit the player to a few parts of the car at the beginning? I also found it difficult to know what I was aiming for with the car stats, knowing what did what.

Babel by Gaming Night 2021-10-05T11:04:40Z

This game was hilarious, not what I expected when I saw this page. Easy to understand and play, the sound design is amazing, maybe a bit loud, and it looks great. The transition when you loose is spot on but the time to see your score should be longer. Sometimes a bit difficult to see where you are placing a new object and I didn't instantly realize the raycast ignored the boxes. In summary an artistic work of art, well done.

Tidy Tides by KBanana 2021-10-05T10:36:51Z

The music worked well but what I really liked was the art style, the game looked amazing. The gameplay was challenging, I think the pickup should be a bit more forgiving, I found it extremely difficult to pick up pens.

Cyberduk by abvadabra 2021-10-04T23:18:23Z

Well done, the game played exceptionally well, very smooth both in controlling the character and the physics was spot on. It looked great, I especially liked the character model. Don't know what advice to give to improve, platformers aren't my forte. Great Job!

RoTable by Vitor Milioni 2021-10-06T08:32:41Z

This was really awesome, I can definitely see this as something to speedrun, felt like a mix between qwop and getting over it. Up until the kitchen level the game is very easy, just hold down the keys to rotate the legs as wheels and you will get to the end very fast. Then I couldn't get past the stove :D

Wine Guy by johanhelsing 2021-10-04T22:19:01Z

Ran very smoothly, great ambiance with the music and the sounds and I'm impressed with the liquid physics. Good difficulty curve, I found it easy in the beginning but couldn't make it past 52 points as it ramped up. It would have been perfect with some dining tables and customers that the waiter zigzags around (and drops the wine on). Great job!

Unstable Cubes by Lenan 2021-10-06T08:43:40Z

This was a really cool mechanic, and it worked really well. The only problem or rather irritating bit was that the cube often exploded after respawning. So when you wanted to retry a part you failed on you had to wait for it to recharge.

PRISM by Gat 2021-10-05T17:08:19Z

I really liked the art well done, but I had a hard time figuring the game out, even after reading the help section.

Ping to Mars by CaptAndrey 2021-10-10T15:41:52Z

I like it, simple controls, easy to understand and nice aesthetics. I enjoyed going through blind spots by aiming before hand and cruising straight through. At first when I reached the first blind spot I thought the controls were just randomized and that was quite aggravating, but I quickly realized it felt more like a delay of your own inputs. By treating it that way it was quite fun to go through the levels. Well done.

Toad Towers by LucaVazz 2021-10-04T23:27:23Z

Worked for me, a bit of lag when starting levels but otherwise it works fine. I liked the mood, sound effects and music are relaxing. The gameplay was fun but the resolution was a bit low, very difficult to read what cards are coming after without hovering. Well done!

Escorting The Unstable by EOShadows 2021-10-16T13:49:17Z

I really like hand drawn art and you really did it justice. I guess its different for everyone but I would have preferred having the dash direction work with wasd.

Bad Robot! by carlinhu 2021-10-05T11:26:01Z

I looks very nice, especially the little robot head moving when you move. I couldn't manage to finish the game, didn't always know what to do, felt like the machines kept showing broken when I just fixed them. Also I couldn't find a replay button at the end screen so had to refresh the page. Otherwise, well done!

Scrap Pilot by BjornStahl 2021-10-10T23:17:55Z

@piper-thompson Thanks a bunch, I am amazed myself how much I managed. From all the awesome feedback I've gotten here I'm thinking of continuing development.

Scrap Pilot by BjornStahl 2021-10-21T23:06:34Z

Big thanks to everyone who left feedback and rated this game.

I really enjoyed working on it and a few seemed to like the idea of a continuation of the game @pixelydian @kyboon @datadazer @its-f4llen @willoxs

I have worked on an update during the rating period which is now live on itch. If you are interested in seeing further development of this game make sure to follow me on Itch, I'll be writing development updates there and upload new versions as often as possible.

Eruption by Jadeskon 2021-10-10T16:53:12Z

I liked the look of the game, and the idea that the car becomes more unstable the more people you carry. However I found the car to be a bit to uncontrollable when empty, for example taking quite a while to break to a full stop. Also I don't know it was intentional but when you die and respawn the timer resets but not the people you have picked up, they are no longer found at their buildings.

The Mandela Conspiracy by Not_AS_Artistic 2021-10-06T07:22:33Z

I nice little game, I agree with other comments that it could have used a bit more content but it was still quite relaxing to play. You managed to give a good old computer feel, what I would have liked to see was a way to return to the starting page after the end credits.

Dranker by mihail 2021-10-05T11:32:45Z

Not sure where the unstable part comes in, maybe it is the constantly changing move speed. I first thought the speed changed when you walked over things but that seems to not be the case. I like the artwork, especially the small cutscenes when starting the game. Not a big fan of the "bleurgh" sound that came every now and then. Also the development console with a bunch of error messages is a bit distracting. On the whole, well done, 3 days is a short time, there will be bugs and error messages :)

How high How many by ache games 2021-10-05T10:48:25Z

Fun game, easy to figure out and worked like a charm, the sound and music fit perfectly and I liked the art style. The only problem I found was that there is a minimum distance you can travel so small adjustments before dropping a block was very difficult.

Brasópolis: Unstable Economy by Fernando Sydenstricker C. 2021-10-04T23:02:51Z

I loved the look of the game, the models and the characters. I am not a big fan of the 4 directional movement, it felt restricting. Don't know where the theme was used but maybe its used later in the game.

Overpowered by njs 2021-10-05T17:40:14Z

Great work for being you first game, you managed to get gameplay audio and visuals to fit together. Something I was missing was the feeling that I got more powerful as my power grew. As it was I tried to avoid picking up power at all times, not balancing it.

Unstable Gun Meets Zombies by Its_F4llen 2021-10-05T14:47:55Z

Nice little game, the gun changing is a good idea, I'm not sure if it's intended to hold the fire button but if you spam click you get a massive increase in fire rate and ever zombie is killed in half a second making it very easy. I would have liked to see a bunch more zombies in the city, perhaps you could get to the reactor before killing them all and the one's still alive will also go to the reactor. Good job, keep it up.

Scootles by Surfa 2021-10-04T22:30:06Z

I liked the sounds and look of the game and it was quite fun to run into things. I would however have preferred a bit more grip on the wheels and the collision boxes of the pickups were a bit too small. Well done!

Lemmini by aplegatt 2021-10-08T13:41:52Z

Just as the comment above I also realized you could just push the lemming to the goal with the closest object, this made it quite easy, only on the last level did you have to slow down a bit. My gf found the lemming cute. Good job with the game.

The Swirl by cybuuorg 2021-10-05T14:21:47Z

This is very well made for such a short time, well done. The art style is beautiful and the music sets the mood perfectly, but the best part is the writing, very well written.

I can't remember by chesiq 2021-10-05T11:16:31Z

The mood is very eerie, the art style and graphics fit together very well. I could make it to the cubes and back but didn't manage to stay away from the baby to look for small cubes. The slow movement speed and very short sprint made me unwilling to keep trying. One bug I found was that if you keep rotating the camera to one side, the pointer will get stuck on the edge of the screen and you can't keep rotating.

Pepper Dealer by aslan 2021-10-05T11:59:28Z

I actually enjoyed this more than I initially thought (when I noticed you could upgrade). The tetris gameplay worked really well, but the money gain was a bit too low. Only earning 1-2 per day felt a bit too slow. I encountered one bug where all peppers disappeared and I earned something to the power of negative 57 (without pressing enter). Also when the first scale tips over and falls out of view the game just continues.

Granny's Porcelain Tower by Njitnelav 2021-10-08T12:48:28Z

Being a first timer and making this in 3 days is very impressive. Good music and artwork, two things that could have been improved on is the spacing between new vases, after placing 5-6 vases you had to move the camera very far up to get another vase. Also having the camera move with the mouse as you are trying to slowly lower a vase onto the tower makes you have to move the mouse upward instead of downward, a bit counter intuitive.

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-05T17:18:25Z

I really liked this game, great artwork, great sound design and quite hilarious with the hiccups and sneezes. Well done!

We're Going Nuclear! by Ryan Winstead 2021-10-06T07:09:24Z

Great atmosphere and mood in the game, it felt very polished. I found it a bit too difficult though, I had the power lever at max and still lost to long periods of outages.

Hot nucleus by c64cosmin 2021-10-09T21:00:38Z

I really liked the beam effect, I played for quite a while but the speed ramped up a bit too slowly for me so I decided to stop neutralizing the particles and see what happens when you loose. It took probably 3 minutes without a single keypress before the radiation rose high enough. This made the game feel a bit too forgiving, one solution could be that the radiation increases more if you fail to neutralize several particles in a row.

Pub Tumble by GrevaNU 2021-10-05T17:29:11Z

This was actually really fun, I got stuck quite a bit on the very last checkpoint on the first level because I had drunk all bottles on the way. The second level was quite easy as I avoided every single bottle :P The drunk effect worked great, it managed to make it fun and challenging instead of irritating. All the bottles at the end was a great touch. I found one bug, if you run of the edge of an obstacle you will teleport down instead of falling.

Pub Tumble by GrevaNU 2021-10-05T17:33:52Z

Continuation.... :P if you rotate so much that the mouse reaches the end of the screen you will no be able to continue moving the camera in that direction(only a problem on the third level). Lastly I couldn't find a way to move to the next level had to refresh the page. Well done, really enjoyed it!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Earworm Jam by ursagames 2022-04-05T17:44:48Z

Loved the sound design overall, the song made me snort when it first started. The look and feel of the game was great too but the sound was on point. Great job!

Jelly Defense by LDP 2022-04-10T09:03:57Z

Aestethically a very nice gime both visual and audio. Easy to understand and play with a reasonable increase in difficulty. It could be cool with more types of towers that you switch out during upgrade phase so that you always have three but of different types depending on need.

Push, Rethink, Undo, Repeat by RAC-Games 2022-04-17T10:05:34Z

I really enjoyed the puzzles, always been a puzzle person, great job with the artstyle and audio design. I had a bit of trouble, at leas at the start, with the character beeing stuck to a grid as he moves. I would have preferred more free movement. The level design was good, i liked how elements were reused as new random levels came. Well done!

Cabbage Crashers by UnitedFailures 2022-04-10T08:08:49Z

Nice audio (except for the sell sound, that annoyed me :P), and I really liked the cabbage models! It was fun to try to cultivate larger cabbages. The UI needs some work, it took me way to long to find the sell and splice buttons, and when reading through the comments above I don't seem to be alone in this. Good job!

Ancient Hogs by Manan 2022-04-06T22:26:42Z

Haha, I love the use of blenders monkey head! I really enjoy walking around throwing spears. Unfortunately I had big performance issues (browser version), quite difficult to aim when the camera kept jumping around. Great job with the look and sound of the game, the spear colliders could have been slightly smaller. The game was intuitive and spears was thankfully easy to pick up.

The "Go to sleep" text should probably be more in the center of the screen, I missed it at first and started to wander.

Aster Defense by emrod 2022-04-16T18:52:42Z

Before starting the game I thought it would be a regular td but I really liked the idea of the orbits moving the turrets around, making you have to place shiels to the side so they rotate infront of the asteroids. At leas until you've made a ring of defences. It took a while for me to understand what to do as I tried to place things on orbits that were not allowed. Great visual and sound design, what I missed the most was an increase in difficulty over time.

Volcano Island by MPK90 2022-04-10T09:15:43Z

As I'm writing this I'm sitting in my boat, don't know if I can sit here forever or if I will starve, the theme is delay the inevetable so I assume I will starve and loose but I have been here for a few minutes now so perhaps not.

I enjoyed the idea of finding different ways to survive, It can definitely be expanded upon. The jumping needs to be a bit smoother and the movement direction seems to be aligned with the camera, this makes you slow down if you look down while walking.

Riverlands by Salier 2022-04-09T19:26:20Z

Well done, you manaaged a complete game with nice visuals and sound. Props for a settings menu and localisation. The gameplay was challenging, it didn't help playing the game on a laptop mousepad. One idea would be to have rivers stop growing if they enter an already existing river, perhaps making that river grow twice as fast as if the water flow is added together.

Tidal Wave by BjornStahl 2022-04-06T21:37:01Z

This is awesome feedback @gramsinator, especially about the fail state, that is definitely something I will make sure to improve upon after the rating period. Thank you!!

Tidal Wave by BjornStahl 2022-04-06T21:47:33Z

@leolferraz, @chocolat-endive Difficult to say if this is a bug but what it could be is that the buildings on the two leftmost button can only placed inside the walls. I did not have time to make a visual indicator outside of the walls. The 3rd button can only be placed outside of the walls.

If there for some reason is a problem with the buttons you could try to use the 1-3 keys.

Tidal Wave by BjornStahl 2022-04-06T21:59:26Z

Thanks for the feedback @lisyarus. Yes it definitely needs optimization, for a while I was on the fence about going with this idea for the posibility of not having the time to make it even reasonably playable. Thanks for playing it, I will most definitely get some improvements in there.

To Build A Fire by ugly_robot 2022-04-06T22:40:34Z

Well this was more difficult than I thought. Blackened quite a few fingers, I've never played surgeon simulator but this is pretty mych how I imagined it. A tip for the itch page would be to lower the screen size of the browser game window, it would not fit my window and I had to scroll sideways to find the fullscreen button.

Divine Rain by Jackaljk 2022-04-10T08:16:40Z

Well this was certainly a quirky little game, well done! Only improvement i could think of was a bit more reactiveness on hitting a house or make the extinguishing faster. It takes a couple of seconds before the fire dissapears so until then you are unsure if you are hitting or not.

Foundations by 0x746564 2022-04-09T19:07:44Z

You nailed the look of the game, and it felt polished while playing it. Although I think I encountered a bug on my first playthrough, I selected a card during playphase that I had no where to move, this made me have to restart the game since I could not select any other card. Also when pressing esc and "try again" I could still not select any card so I had to refresh the browser.

The end criteria has to be more clear, you wrote in a commet above that it is possible to win. Since you can't move the cards around on the tableau, the amount of moves needed to win is constant (52). But I have no idea how many moves I have and If I can get more.

Reactor Meltdown (The Simpsons) by AdamJN 2022-04-17T10:16:49Z

Solid visuals and sound design many different panels makes it not too repetitive. The difficulty curve was a bit steep, it should be possible for a new player to be slow and experiment with the first few panels but here if you did not know exactly what to do with ever panel as the popped up you would loose.

I Sink Not by eeldam 2022-04-16T18:27:23Z

The artstyle is amazing and the sound design and music fits it so well. It was really interesting to build a ship and try to maximise its effectiveness. I almost reached 10000, but here is where the game falls a bit short, my ship could have continued, it sank because I stopped pressing the repair buttons. You build your entire ship at the start and then all you have to do is click repair after that. It would at least for me add to the game if you could only build a handfull of slots at the start and then had to build the ship as you go. So that you get something more to do than clicking repair. On the whole, great job!
