Can't play :( The game is broken :(
I enjoyed this! I did the first level pretty easily, but on the second level, it didn't give me a second office? I think I just didn't play long enough, but I've played enough that I can say good job!!!
The game worked for me (Google Chrome on Windows). It lagged when I clicked on a level or selected a card. The rooms look pretty awesome and I liked placing them. It's fun to play with the cool loung music.
Worked for me, a bit of lag when starting levels but otherwise it works fine. I liked the mood, sound effects and music are relaxing. The gameplay was fun but the resolution was a bit low, very difficult to read what cards are coming after without hovering. Well done!
Great idea, maybe still missing some interaction?
@chikentear Sorry to hear that :/ Could you try again with a recent version of Chrome or Firefox please...? Are you getting an error displayed or does the loading bar just stop?
Also note that contract work is chaos, so sometimes you need to get lucky to get all the modules you need ;) (What cards spawn per stack is fully random)
Really cool game, nice chill mood, lot's of puns and funny text. The art was cool, the contracts look great. How did you get that awesome custom loading screen with Godot? Unfortunately the soundtrack sounded awesome but I had some typical Godot audio glitchyness. (Did you try using ogg for the soundtrack / latest version / increasing the output latency / threads?) I struggled with level 3 and couldn't beat it unfortunately, it would be nice if you got the money back when deleting something after placing it down. Yeah very cool game though.
Menu music absolutely slaps. The game feels a like clunky to play. Issues when you go over budget the delete function didn't seem to help and did not seem to work for me. Otherwise an interesting premise even if I didn't see much unstableness in the game.
@weirdybeardyman Thanks for the great feedback :) In some levels you're a bit at the mercy of the random number generator, yes - but you can always restart your attempt via the pause menu (esc-key).
For the loading animation: In Godot's Export settings you can configure a "custom HTML shell" where you can customize the Web page "around" the game. See also [our shell file source](https://gitlab.com/green-game-17/toad-towers-ld49-freeze/-/blob/main/src/game.html) and the [Godot docs about the shell](https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/platform/customizing_html5_shell.html#doc-customizing-html5-shell) for more details.
Thanks for the music suggestions, we'll definitely look into it more to get rid of the lagginess.
@surfa The delete function unfortunately doesn't show you what module you're going to delete (we finished it literally a minute before the deadline :D) but it should remove the modules regardless.
Try to build an unbalanced tower or one with holes, the earthquakes will make it unstable ;)
Nice game. The delete button only worked a bit strange if you build something and delete it it still count toward your achievements.
Really nice jam game! All the graphic elements look real nice, music slapped and the gameplay was interesting, maybe a bit random. It did feel a bit clunky and there were some lagspikes but overall it was good!
I loved playing this game. It's quite a complete yet simple management game, quite impresive for being done in a jam. Good work! I hope you keep making management games!
I always like building games. The cards seems random and I like that, but it is hard to achieve the goal or prevent disaster with this kind of random(If this is your purpose then it's okay). Good music, very creative!Good work!
you're getting five audio stars for the old-school beat with the frog croak sample alone. This is niiice! There was a bit of jank for me in the card interface but I love the concept and it all has lots of character. TBH I was sold as soon as I saw your loading lilypad. <3 Out of scope for a game jam, but I'd love to see the frogs living in the buildings like little amphibian Sims. serious froglok vibes 10/10
A nice relaxing/puzzle game. A bit laggy upon card selection on my side. There is a lot of levels and a nice variety of card, quite impressive for a jam ! I just wish i could see my frogs populating the city :D I felt it was a bit off the theme though, as the event to check my tower stability weren't occuring very often.
GG and thanks for the game!
I really like the graphics, the screenshots immediately made me want to try this game. Music was nice too!
Interesting concept, super unwieldy UI. The music is nice, though some of the audio was choppy when the game lagged. The delete button tends to delete extra things without me even choosing anything, and sometimes card previews wont go away so im forced to place whatever it has up.
Thank you all so much for your great feedback so far 🐸
@greenxenith Sometimes your frog client slips you a card which they want you to use directly - marked by the message above the preview, although a more noticeable effect for it might make sense.
This is a cool idea! The UI is a little awkward to use, but the concept is strong, and the frogs are super cute. This is an impressive amount of work for a jam!
I had a bit of a problem with some audio popping but other than that, it's a pretty cool game. Also I love frog lofi
Well, that all 5 stars for me :) Amazing job!
Loved the humour in the mission text. :)
Really cool game! It took me a couple levels to get the hang of the game, and it's pretty fun. I was surprised that the delete actually costs money (I thought it was like an "undo" button). There is a bit of lag when I placed a building, but it wasn't too bad. Great job!
Great idea and fun to play as well! The audio was stuttering sometimes, but apart from that it's working really well (and the tower looks great, frogs too of course :)). I got stuck in level 4 though as I didn't manage to stop the tornado. Are there any cards I missed? There were cards against snakenadoes, but that's a totally diffferent kind of catastrophe obviously! :D I guess there has to be something you an do against tornadoes but nothing I tried worked so far.
The UI made it kind of hard to play, but I'm very surprised with how good the game was for me. Very nice concept. I also found the music + croaking of the frogs very relaxing.
