Got the core mechanic of the game going, Still have to add polish and tweak with the numbers so the difficulty scales gradually. sdfasdfasdf.png

c64cosmin 2021-10-03 00:18

Got most of the effects done, must add a way to show the player in what a bad situation is in and also show score too.dgsdfgse54gserhgstrh.png

c64cosmin 2021-10-03 11:25

Just made a geinger counter to show how critical the situation is!.asdfasdfa7wyg4t.PNG

c64cosmin 2021-10-03 12:33

Just added a score counter too.scoreoisjoif.PNG

Just finished my first entry, it was a bit more stressful than I anticipated, now I really regret not recording the whole process :( sdfasdfas3raw3v.gif

ratogodoy 2021-10-03 23:47

this game looked really simple at the start, but after a while i noticed a lot of depth, i really liked the cellshaded effect of the atoms, but i didn't like the inconsistency of the sprites, some with filtering, some without, but overrall the game is really good

corbeng 2021-10-03 23:53

Top 3 AI here, Nice work! Took me a minute to figure out the mechanic as I didn't fully understand what to do just based off the text. A more interactive tutorial would be great! Once I figured it out I was on a roll! but it didn't feel like it ever got too hard, had to purposely lose. Great effort, congrats on your first submission!

ghoulean 2021-10-04 00:16

This reminds me of those typing games I used to play when I was learning how to type. Great aesthetic.

kumber 2021-10-04 00:44

It's a fun game, it starts slow and the first time I died because I didn't understood that I shouldn't keep zapping the atoms that turned blue. It's written on the tutorial, duh.

I really liked the music. It reminds me of the intro musics of the Amiga and C64.

c64cosmin 2021-10-04 00:59

@ratogodoy Thank you for the feedback! Yes now that you mention it there is inconsistency in the way the graphics look, will keep in mind for the future, thank you!

@corbeng So happy that you entered in the leader board, thank you very much. Indeed I failed to explain the rules of the game, had a hard time to come to that, an interactive tutorial is a great idea, good thing to keep in mind for the future, thank you! You should try again and beat the highest scores, it becomes harder, also the faster you release the key the more bonus you get

@ghoulean Thank you for playing, yes you are right it's typing game, but your fingers turn into a octopus and you don't know which finger does what

@kumber Glad you liked my game, thank you for playing, yes explaining the game rules was hard, glad to know that they were clear enough, will try to do better next time, thank you!

webox 2021-10-04 01:13

haha that's a fun experience!! Maybe add an epilepsy warning, I think it may trigger some people!!. Very original idea, I really liked the humor and the art!! Very well executed!

fabdynamic 2021-10-04 02:23

its great that you have a video! I love the graphics style. I love the keyboard typing mechanic. I liked the person talking to us and the quirky music too. having the goldilocks timing mechanic is leagues more interesting than just hitting the key. Its also really cool that you made a leaderboard. Also its cool that you got it working with HTML from Godot because other people in this compo are saying its kind of broken. I think you have proven them at least partially wrong. Thanks and great work! *** High Score: 564 *** currently #5 on the leaderboard. (I bet you can't bump me off!)

mahjoub 2021-10-04 03:17

I am Agree with @fabdynamic, the video is a well addition on the description!

Funny graphics and original idea! **Currently #5** on the leaderboard with 665 points

mogaiskii 2021-10-04 17:23

That's funny(: music are cool also

fakefirefly 2021-10-04 20:10

I got a score of 1941 (youwin on the leaderboard)! Capture.png

The game feels like a twist on a typing game, except instead of typing words, the player needs to hold down various keys on their keyboard.

The 3d modeling was nice and the leaderboard was cool!

When the player is close to losing, the rapidly vibrating molecules in the background start getting hard to look at. Additionally, it's a bit difficult to lose. I actually started typing this review up and left the game running and still had time to go back and finally fail the game.

bentebent 2021-10-04 21:06

Felt good to zap some particles, kinda wished I could look around a bit to make it feel a bit more dynamic but overall I really enjoyed it, solid!

c64cosmin 2021-10-04 21:43

@webox Thank you so much for the tip with epilepsy warning! Added it!

@fabdynamic The main reason it's working in browser is that I only use textures that are powers of 2 and using GLES 2. Thank you for playing

@mahjoub and @mogaiskii Thank you very much for playing, glad you enjoyed yourselves!

@fakefirefly Really good score, yes there is plenty of time indeed, but you score higher if you time the key holds correctly. Thank you for the advice with the fast moving background, I will change that after the event!

@bentebent Glad it felt good, that means a lot, dunno if you can look around when you need to mash you keyboard, but that's an interesting idea. Thank you for playing!

mordrick 2021-10-05 09:52

Nice game!

I really love the beam animation and the particles. Looking around really would be nice, to spice it up a bit. And maybe combine particles by having to press two or 3 buttons at once ^^.

Definitely a game that fits the theme!

c64cosmin 2021-10-05 11:28

@mordrick thank you so much for playing, looking around would be chaotic, also having multiple particles was one of the ideas, but ditched it in the end, mostly because it would work only for people who have mechanical keyboards

purpledartfrog 2021-10-05 14:16

Nice entry - a liiiittle hectic to the eyes... liked the look.

:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:

schuster 2021-10-06 00:32

Nice game, I did a nuclear physics game too!

mathiouza 2021-10-06 02:32

2271 second try.

Nice game! The thing I could say is that maybe you should add a sound effect when the sparks appears, it's a bit difficult to look at the letters on the keyboards, the ones on the screen, and take care of the new ones at the same time as being sure that we are not overcharging the one we are already taking care of. Just a sound effect would be perfect.

Maybe make the difficulty curve increase a bit more faster.

Other than that the concept is really cool and the mood is really well done!

Great work!

c64cosmin 2021-10-06 15:07

@purpledartfrog Yeah, I should make the atoms rotate a toad bit slower! Thank you for playing <3

@schuster Thank you for playing, checking your game right now :D

@mathiouza Adding a sound effect is such a great idea, thank you so much for the tip! Also the difficulty curve increasing faster would also feel good I tend to agree. Thank you very much for playing and for your kind words!!!

geckoo1337 2021-10-06 15:26

Maybe the game which fits better with the theme. I really appreciated. I have only one claim - I lost many time trying to do a difference between letter O and the number 0. I had a good score, but I cannot see my name because I cannot scroll the score field. The main gameplay is clever and all works well as expected. Also the music is great - something epic. You did a solid entry. Well done ++

chaosbrick 2021-10-06 16:19

Very cool stuff. I am especially fond of the audio quality and its mixing with the music. The gameplay also has more depth to it than I anticipated, paying attention to all the particles while crossing fingers on the keyboard is more demanding than I thought it'd be.

spudboy 2021-10-06 23:36

Got a high score of 1024. I like the slow feeling of ramping pressure, good job on that.

nyxkn 2021-10-07 21:28

Very nice! Enjoyed playing. This forced me to use unfamiliar finger chords; very interesting! O and zero could have used a better font difference. Numbers were very awkward to use and made me realize how little I'm familiar with their positioning! Difficulty ramped up a bit slowly so playthrough is a bit drawn out and does not inspire a second attempt. Really liked the graphics and overall idea!

tigerfinch 2021-10-07 21:43

Very nice. One of those games I played a lot longer than expected, it has a good ramp up, and the music is really cool! Reminds me of Cloudpunk soundtrack.

lesinvisible 2021-10-08 13:14

This game is very enjoyable, and it got me sucked in. Also, the music in this game is really just INCREDIBLE.

c64cosmin 2021-10-08 21:13

@geckoo1337 Thank you very much for the kind words! Yeah, it didn't go thru my mind that the O and 0 will be that similar. Thank you for the ++, I just got incremented <3

@chaosbrick So happy that you've enjoyed the gameplay and the audio, really glad that I hit it off well with the mixing, yes that was the mission, to make people's fingers feel like squids

@spudboy That's a really solid score, glad that you felt the slow ramping up fit, I was very unsure about it's pace.

@nyxkn I have to agree that due to the slow ramping up players might not try again, unless they want to score higher. Glad you've enjoyed it.

@tigerfinch Wow, thank you for the compliment, I still have to learn a lot about composition to get to make such music, but very happy it reminded you of that. Really happy that you enjoyed your play.

@lesinvisible You're lesincredible! Wow so kind words, thank you so much for the playthru. This make feel so good reading such a great compliment.

Thank you all for your replies, I am humbled! Now to play your games, can't wait <3

jaspior 2021-10-09 04:53

I liked the game. Simple and yet, well polished. Congratz!

bjornstahl 2021-10-09 21:00

I really liked the beam effect, I played for quite a while but the speed ramped up a bit too slowly for me so I decided to stop neutralizing the particles and see what happens when you loose. It took probably 3 minutes without a single keypress before the radiation rose high enough. This made the game feel a bit too forgiving, one solution could be that the radiation increases more if you fail to neutralize several particles in a row.

bentglasstube 2021-10-09 21:17

The music was absolutely perfect for the game, especially when they warning buzzer came in as I struggled to press all the keys on my keyboard at once.

c64cosmin 2021-10-16 14:48

@jaspior Thank you very much for playing! Happy you liked my game!

@bjornstahl The player is punished if the key is hold for too long, also particles not neutralized will also add some radiation. Also the faster the player neutralizes the particle and releases the key, the more point will be gained. I didn't do a good job to explain that though. Thank you for your review!

@bentglasstube Glad you loved the hectic vibe of the game.

mikouaji 2021-10-20 12:44

It gets hectic very fast :D Very cool idea! Nice graphics and good sound design!
