Had a nice experience. Believe me or not, this was my first time playing a game made on RPG Maker so all I can say is I enjoyed the dialogs, move sets and soundtrack.

Good work!

Love the dialog! Ran into a bug where the magical throwing dagger wasn't added to my inventory after talking to the merchant guy.

I adore the writing, world and characters! The town is so lovely and peaceful, I really enjoyed exploring it. My absolute favorite thing is that you can talk to the cat 🥰

I don't really understand how RPG games work, so I've only been able to get as far as the second fight before dying. But I really want to know how the story ends... I'll come back to this later and try to finish it.

Btw, is there a way to make the game window larger, or at least fullscreen? It launches in a very tiny window, and I have to squint to see it.

Nice game! I thought the atmosphere was top notch! Struggled understanding when villagers would help me or not, and rarely had enough health to see if I could win a fight or not, or if I haven't interacted with enough things. Enemies seemed to die randomly, or live forever and do far more damage than I could block heal. Made it to the third fight. Fun game, would love to get more feedback as the player to know how the things I'm doing/questions I'm answering help. Good job!

Thank you all for your good words! There are a lot to improve for sure and thank you very much for the feed back.

@iamsodarncool unfortunately there is no way to make the window larger with the engine I am using.

@noisemaker thank you for pointing that out, it actually does the battle easier behind the scenes but there is no indication for the player, I'll try and improve bit by bit!

I like your story! I don't know much about RPG maker - how much control do you have over things like depth and collision? It seems like your collision box takes up the entire square of the player sprite. In top down, if you make the collision box only take up the bottom part of the sprite you can create some depth and allow for sprites to overlap and give the illusion of a 3D space. Perhaps there is an RPG Maker tutorial out there covering this topic? Just some thoughts to consider! Overall your lever layout was quite nice and your characters very interesting. :) Good job!

@pixelydian you are totally right! I know how to do what you describe at Godot (another great game engine IMO) but I didn't thought of it for RPG Maker. Actually this is my first ever submission and I wanted to use some ready-to-use systems considering the limited time  I plan to use Godot and [Kenny](https://www.kenney.nl/) assets next time  . Thanks for the feedback!

I have heard about people altering the code within RPG maker to do all sorts of things (like even making a farm sim) but I'm not sure if it's worth it if you know how to use Godot! Look forward to seeing your entry next time. :)

What a mystic atmosphere there! I really enjoy it. Story is wonderful - I like Gods theme. It was hard to remember the answers for loot questions, but I was able to deal with it! Great work!

Cool game

silas-reinagel 2022-04-12 04:27

Very cute game!

Combat balance seemed like it could have used some more work. Some of my expensive TP skills did less damage than a basic attack. Heal was very weak compared to the damage dealt, so it definitely seemed to dampen some of the strategic possibilities.

Looks great, plays great. cool design and an interesting story. Not too sure how well it goes with the theme but maybe I might have missed something. overall well done though.

RPG maker was the engine that I made my first games in back when I was in high school. I loved the atmosphere and the background story seemed fitting for an RPG title. I do think having some simple battles up front would be good to give players an easy sense of accomplishment and introduce players to how combat works (if they have been hiding under a rock). I like the take of talking to people and gaining items to gain strength rather than just grinding battles like an average RPG game. All in all, this was an enjoyable play.
