Loved this! Very well done. It's actually a pretty genius twist on tower defense - it means you can't rely too much on placing every tower upfront, but it does give you a fair (but challenging) amount of time to slap down some late-towers in response to corpses piling up. Very happy to see the level change in the middle - oh, and loved the end screen! The character graphics were especially well done - the little zombies were kinda scary and kinda cute! Great job!
Really love this idea of each creep wave being a double dip. The enemy sprites were fantastic and I had a great time!
Big fan of tower defense games. As an expansion of the concept, I wonder if zombies could maybe be stronger but slower? Or have some kind of resistance to arrows, or maybe resistance to the thing that killed them?
There's a lot of cool places you could go with this. But well done!
I WON! :laughing: I had fun! Neat idea with the pillagers coming back as zombies. I feel like it was well balanced where I needed to put weapons all along the road for when they came back. Neat concept and I think your game has some legs to be expanded post jam if you're inspired. Good job!
Nice game! I think I have found an issue when you try to put a tower and you don't have enough money and then you change to a less expensive tower. That is immediately set below the button. It seems that the click to change the tower and to set is the same, the state is not reset.
Partly match the theme, maybe next time it will be better.. Good game, but average art for me. Fun factor is not high at this game, but maybe next time you will think more about that and it will be better. Inovative and good gameplay for me.
One last note: I always write down honest review, because everybody need that, not just nice craps with some bullshit, but sometime I will appreciate very good games. So if this review insult you, but use it well :) Anyway every game is counting so :)
Works well, good design and art, a little sparse, but whats there is good, the mechanics are solid, nice little tower defense.

Nice classic tower defense game! the zombie idea adds a lot to it! With the help of some audio I think it could be a really complete game!

Absolutely agree with @pixelydian :) In my opinion, bringing the enemies back to life after some time adds an interesting twist to the tower defense genre. Strategically, i found it engaging to not just putting all the towers at the spawn, but managing the area after their revival as well. Awesome job, very impressed with this :) Congratulations to everyone involved! Keep jamming.
This is a nice twist to the usual tower defence. It would be nice to have a chance to set up at the start of rounds though.
Failed to read the 'serviceWorker' property from 'Navigator': Service worker is disabled because the context is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag.
itchio version is playing fine, although if you click on play button I see the message above. To get rid of ldjam version delete all your web archives (also you can put up a itchio link and cover via markdown)
This was a neat idea and I agree with other people's comments about how it solves a problem lots of tower defense games have where you're encouraged to place all your towers as far forward as possible.
That being said, I think a little more polish would have gone a long way to making the gameplay feel more engaging. The transition between levels was so abrupt it was almost confusing, and some sound effects or even just a little more visual effects would have made it much clearer when important things where happening, like enemies being killed or the castle taking damage.
I love tower defense games, and this game was no exception - the twist made it even better, and it made me have to rethink my usual strategy a bit! Great job!
Really fun tower defense game, loved the graphics and new take on the genre. If you had more time to work on the game, I'd love to see different enemy types that take less/no damage from certain towers so you aren't able to win by just spamming the arrow towers, but other that, great work!
Great twist on a tower defense game. The revive really adds an extra element. Had a small bug where I would accidentally place a tower on top of the tower "shop" buttons and it would then make it impossible to see what tower I was selecting from then on because of the range circle. Other than that, some sound would add a lot to what is already a very solid game. Well done!
nice little tower defense! the 5 gold fire balster seems a bit overpowered compared to the 2 gold crossbow.
it was fun playing it, and the idea of the assaulters coming back to life where they died is a really clever idea!
