Breathtaking. The best game I played so far. The ending was quite a something :D .

Loved that art style! And that end game (that I could not get past) was a complete surprise. Great job!

Wow, that T..h.. part really make me wake up. Nice hand drawn art.

You could export game as HTML version, so your game get more plays.

Ooh that lute's reminding me of Dwarf Fortress, in a good way

karsinis 2021-10-06 20:31

Wow that was amazing!! The art so, so good I really would love to play a full game in this style. I was really irked by the glitches and was totally invested in seeing what was going to happen next. Probably my favorite game so far. So impressive and fleshed out for such a short development time! I love the music, it really developed the atmosphere. I couldn't get past the end game haha, not sure if there was an end past that but it was a really pleasant surprise. Can't give enough praise. Seriously, I would love to see a full game!

I loved this game! Such a dark and charming atmosphere, but with a touch of humour and colour that I really like. The bullet hell portion was chill as heck too, couldn't beat it but it was fun to play! I would love a bit of an easier to read font, but that's my only gripe! Great great game!!

I like the hand drawn art style! It gave it an "Undertale" vibe, which I assume you were inspired by based on the end sequence. I did find the walking back and forth a little tedious - maybe shorten the distances and/or speed up the player, or have other stuff to do in between, like finding clues about where you are, what's going on, or simple puzzles, etc. I also found the battle difficult and was unable to beat it - I feel like the player was moving a tad slow to dodge the "bullets" effectively. But it was crazy unexpected and psychedelic. Very creative take on the theme! Great job and I hope you keep making games!

This might be my favorite game of the jam. It condenses the "indie metanarrative" game into less than 10 minutes and then goes off the wall for the last bit. Fantastic job on this one.

It's a nice game with a hard to beat ending

Great looking game. Really liked the vibe of it with those graphics combined with the music. Good job!

the bullet hell at the end was pretty fun, I kinda wish that was the main part of the game even.

josher 2021-10-09 13:16

Damn that was fun! The walking sim part was a bit slow but the humour was fun and the theme worked really well. The last part was really fun! Challenging but not too hard. The graphics were nice and the music (esp at the end) was really good.

The last bit of the game was unexpected, but fun! The music throughout the game was also really good, and I loved the animation of the main character, they were so well-drawn! Great entry and I loved the RGB instability in the game.

I loved this. Effort put into all the things that matter, and that make this game unique. A sound effect to accompany the collisions in the bullet hell would be useful. I thought at first that I was tying to pick things up, not avoid them, and the druggy visual effect seemed to match with the floating head as a potentially thematically related and potentially positive thing, rather than being a clear thing to avoid. The music and visuals are, of course, highlights, and the gameplay was engaging enough that I wanted to stay longer in the world. Thanks for sharing, this has been a highlight of my experiences playing others' games.

Thumb.png Oh yeah, and I meant to put this in my other comment.

All hail the wise blob

That ending was quite unexpected haha. Nice touch with the text speed, would've been nice to get movement speed as well. Also, the aesthetic was pretty interesting.

Great atmosphere, lovely graphics, that ending was a fun surprise, couldn't beat it though.

I personally did not enjoy the self-aware humour, felt it undercut the mood.

skahd 2021-10-13 08:29

looks cool but i get stuck at the beggining :(

legolula 2021-10-13 15:13

The aesthetic was perfect for the game and the audio was on point, congrats!

My expectations for this game were low, but WOW was I proved wrong! At first I didn't know what I was doing talking to some blob, but the ending made it all worth it. Very unexpected and very cool. The music was well done and fitted the gameplay. Great job!

This is the last game which I play for this 49th Ludum Dare session, but what a game! I really enjoyed your project, especially the music. I don't know if you play a ukulele or something else, but you made an amazing track - really dark like your forest, but also hypnotic. Your game fits with the theme as mine - a mentally unstable mind with some black feelings. I cannot say that the visuals were bad, instead they were weird, but well done. The last part of your game was really really hard, but finally I bested it. I don't know how I could pass through all these tiny bullets... A great entry - without any doubt, one of my favorites. I had fun playing. Good job. You deserve more ratings. Thank you ++
