Very experimental. Glad I tried this!
For some reason I can't get past the title screen. Pressing space doesn't continue but makes a little "moop" noise. I'm liking the screenshots though.
Check out the Post Mortem Entry to learn more about the creation process and inspiration behind She! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/?p=320668
This is beautiful, I love the visuals and narrative so much. Rated this very highly!
I loved this one! You've managed to deliver a very polished entry. Art style is brilliant (graphics in particular: lovely!), the music choice and the overall mood is top notch.
As for the theme, I have to admit that I'd been considering a similar option, but it wouldn't have turned out so well. The letter left me hurting a bit (it rings awfully close to home, even if it's not that dramatic).
Congratulations!!
Interesting story, and pretty graphics.
The guys in the green and yellow cars are vindictive little sods..!
Fantastic presentation and story telling. Loved the message at the end.Just wish it was a bit longer. Perhaps you could expand on the concept.
Really enjoyed this! The art style is really pleasing to look at. I encountered a bug in the driving level which mean't the level never completed, even when the time remaining reached 0! Nice work :)
Very nice and moody game. I enjoyed it :).
Thank you all for the nice comments!! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it!
SerialVelocity: Really :O which road did you choose?? I must fix that jajaj
Yeah I'll do an extended version now that I got more time ^^
Lovely graphics! Laughed when FF music came up during the car scene (even though my laughing may have been inappropriate!?). I had the same bug as SerialVelocity, however. I believe I had taken the 5th avenue road?
I really enjoy the game, the overall experience. Some parts were a bit long, but it kept me going because of the story.
Lovely style, liked that there were a few different stages with different game play but would have liked a bit more content i.e. more to do.
Great!I've love the graphic style and the message! Awesome! :)
If you have time, please rate my game too! I would really appreciate it :)
Nice game. I killed a lot of drivers on the road, but I think at least half weren't my fault, they need to learn to drive!
This is fantastic! Probably the best game I played so far this LD. Almost cried when I read that letter, and the whole feeling from the music contributed for sure. Excellent!!
Thanks for your awesome comment on my game, it made me really happy to hear :) Tell me if you have any suggestions to future development, I hope to keep on developing Polytonia. Thanks!
My main complaint is that the section with the cars seems to go on too long, and the music is kinda weirdly harsh - too many high frequencies. (The rest of the music is fine though!) Other than that, this game is lovely. I liked the take on the theme, especially because our takes were similar ;-) Really good job with the storytelling, and the graphics are beautiful.
Thanks for all the good comments and suggestions for the game! You've definitely inspired me to do a longer and better polished version of the game! thanks :D
@johnfn It's called chiptune. And it's from Final Fantasy.
Woaw, a very touching game. I love how the graphics, slow pacing, and music can create such an emotional mood to your game! Congrats!
It's a pity that transitioning between screens & stages takes so long--everything else is so well put together for 72 hours! Classy presentation, with a kind of linguistic clumsiness (or maybe it's just earnestness?) that seems spot-on for silent film writing. And, you know, it's a good moral to drive home.
Speaking of which, the driving's surprisingly challenging. After failing to reach her in time, I really wanted to play again, but after waiting for the menu to descend (while hammering on different buttons to speed it up) it seemed to have gotten stuck on the instructions screen. I don't see anyone else making these comments, though, so perhaps it is Firefox's fault?
game was boring-ish, taking too long to change to other thing is it so that we can spend whole years on this one game and not get time to rate other games????
This is beautiful. I'm a sucker for romantic games. It's obviously short but the polish is what makes it stand out. Graphics, audio, presentation and the message are all great.
@olafsworld98 well it's an interactive story, those are usually long games just for you to know ;) Thanks for all the good comments!
@Several yeep I noticed that it happens with firefox! The best would be to refresh the tab since It's already loaded it'll start instantly :D And the difficulty of each road is different, there's one that's really easy
Great art style, the whole presentation is nice too!
Very original, loved the style!
Absolutely amazing art style! Very inviting.
definitely some similarities to our game - nice to see another with a similiar concept. really love your graphics and overall visual style, very polished and incredibly impressive considering the time limit. i like the options to select from, i think this could be developed further into a full game.
Fantastic game. Truly special art and music :)
Graphics and audio were great, but I found the gameplay lacking. There was also a good 1-2 second delay on the input (not in the driving part though, but there the collisions and sounds were somewhat buggy).
I also don't know if the game just took ages to start or if pressing enter or something made it start. Tried pressing random buttons and I think enter made it start.
LOVED IT. One of the best games I've seen so far. Loved the mood and music. Beautiful. BTW what did you use for the music?
It's a rare moment when a game makes you think about your own life. Amazing, thanks!
I recognized the intro music from the title sequence in Stanley Kubrick's film "A clockwork orange". It was composed by Henry Purcell in 1695 for the funeral of Queen Mary II of England. A good choice to match the game's story.
