Nice! :) Lots of fun, and I loved the art style. Very impressed.

covebit 2011-12-20 15:00

Really cool :D

eld 2011-12-21 00:11

This must be the weirdest entry of them all!

madmaw 2011-12-21 00:43

This is awesome

screamrawr 2011-12-24 08:39

Very interesting.... and... awesome! Well done!

make-a-game 2011-12-24 19:10

"I want to be alone... with my kitties!"
The sounds are crazy. The art is the product of a mad man ;). I bet that you had loads of fun making this game!
To make it even more crazy I would use some trippin' rainbow colours, ^^ but I remember playing your "Escape" game so I feel it's a matter of personal style!
Congratulations!

shigor 2011-12-25 20:32

Thanks guys, you don't how much comments like "weirdest entry" and "product of mad man" appeal to my insane mind :D

summaky 2011-12-26 02:04

Absolutely awesome. It was being in the mind of an insane person. Very well done. However, as you said, it is a bit unbalanced.

bach 2011-12-26 20:09

I love Dungeon Crawlers.. And the graphics style actually worked really well! Weird though, in all the best ways.

Great entry.

someguy22 2011-12-27 01:42

A little strange, and the GUI could've been improved, like maybe having some of the other buttons disappear when you're in the menu, or at least making it so you can't attack while you're clicking buttons in the menu.

Otherwise the art is pretty good, the humor draws people in, and the gameplay is easy to get used to (although its a little hard).

sonnybone 2011-12-27 01:49

WTF - I think I had fun. My mind is too fried to remember it all. That's a compliment!

devmax 2011-12-27 07:43

Good stuff! I agree with some of the comments about the GUI. The gameplay is pretty smooth though.

No source?

shigor 2011-12-27 11:20

RobProduction: yeah, attacking when clicking on items in menu was annoying, it's one of the small bugfixes I've added to postcompo version.

DevMax: sources are not required for jams, but I put it up for you anyway.

devmax 2011-12-28 09:19

Ah, didnt notice this is a jam entry. Thanks.

winterblood 2011-12-28 14:49

Unsettling but consistent art style, very polished mechanics. UI could be a little tidier and game balance is a bit uneven, but this is an impressive effort. Good work!

rudy 2012-01-01 19:01

I guess this is "so bad it's good entry". The voiceover is a very cool addition that's part the reason this works. Humor is a bit dry but it works. Graphics are.... "special", but they are consistently special so it also works. There are some balance issues and the game is a bit long for an LD entry. UI is not the most user-friendly and, for example, item pickup is a dodgy and you have to be positioned and click just right to get them. I suppose dungeon crawler is semi-related to the theme, but I wouldn't say central to it. Overall, pretty wacky and funnyish, but I didn't get to finish it.

Of course, 5 stars in community for rating tons of game.

caranha 2012-01-03 18:30

So, I could give you detailed feedback. Instead I'll give you this:

- When I fired your game, I was like "wtf is this noise?"
- 5 minutes later I was finding the voice over a bit funny
- After 10 minutes of playing, I was muttering "I want my kittens back" and "more brains!" to myself.

I think we can call this success!

(Oh, some of the items would end up "under" the screen when I was in the same tile as them, and I couldn't pick them up)

pierrec 2012-01-04 12:37

I didn't manage to get very far because I was too scared of this insane man I was...I think it's a compliment.

susanthecat 2012-01-04 23:25

This is so awesome!

ghostik 2012-01-06 15:03

Nice work man :) This is one of the best games that I played here! ...but as other people wrote - It`s little unbalanced and picking items is sometimes difficult.

Were you inspired by "Legend of Grimrock" ? :D

Thank you for game :)

shigor 2012-01-06 16:31

Ghostik: for picking items there's this thing called mouse view (right click + drag, I'm pretty sure it's written in the help inside the game, but who reads helps right? :).

As for the inspiration... nah, I've noticed LoG (and I'm looking forward to it), but it was more like... "what kind of a game I could make I hadn't done already and always wanted to do?"

jeffz 2012-01-07 22:25

original, nice work!

jigxor 2012-01-08 00:34

I love the fluidity of the movements, especially the way the skeletons idly wobble about. Great job! The art style is really cool.

I found it pretty easy to die, you really had to eat/drink quite often to get your health back. Then when you ran out, it became hard.

I also found it very difficult to pick up certain items on the floor. When you had to click the items on screen, they often overlapped UI or it was near impossible to see certain items if you were on the tile next to them (such as rum sometimes), instead I think it would be better to just have a button to collect the item on the tile infront of you (or from the tile you're standing on).

Overall, awesome game! :D

cosr 2012-01-09 10:55

A little rough around the edges, mostly in a good way, but also in a few not so good ways.

The inclusion of mouselook was very unclear, so it was annoying trying to pick up items. I didn't read the help until after getting stuck in the first room because I didn't notice the button, and even when I did read the help I did not pick up on the mouselook thing. Also, opening the menu to look for a help screen is not something I typically do when I start a game.

The sounds got a little grating after a while.

Good job overall, fairly solid game.
