The voice work really seals the deal! made me chuckle. I also like the idea of playing as the person who helps the protagonist rather than the hero.

I found the controls let this down a bit, it was really tough jumping places and especially up screens which led to quite a bit of frustration. However the opening song ... brilliant. Contextualizing the controls with the lazer pen was also genius. The wobbling cats bums is also worth an extra star in my book.
Wow, just wow.
Thanks for the comments guys!
taybenlor - hi i only had time to put together one level, so I switched up the scoring to encourage repeat play by being "score as much as you can before the time runs out". If i was to carry this on in the future i would definitely put in a lot more levels, and away points for catching the monsters.
Zemmi - I'd never seen that but it looks fantastic! wish I had made that instead now lol
Really like that you're experimenting with procedural music, and the visuals are totally trippy (in a good jeff minter esq way). however, i had real trouble judging the note directions which kind of got in the way of my enjoyment of the game.
Would have been nice to see some sub goals thrown in there (special limited raindrops or something). By the end i felt like a OCD predator, trying to clear chase and kill all the raindrops.
I really liked this, felt quite etherial (music helped). Gravity getting weaker as you get higher (so your jump getting higher) was cool, but a little frustrating having to wait so long to fall back to the ground again so you can jump). Is there an actual end? I Got into space then it went blue, but nothing happened.
Would have been nice to see more involved in catching the fireflies, perhaps some have to be chased or something. The visuals have potential, and theres a couple of nice graphics tricks in play.
Liked the phasing mechanics. I died a lot from jumps I thought I should be able to make only to hit the spikes or him not grab onto the edge.
Atmosphere was nice and creepy. Biggest frustration was that the checkpoints were too far apart compared to the difficulty.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I wanted it to feel quite soft in how you moved the character across the screen, but i agree that things could be tightened up a bit (especially what happens when he gets too close to the cursor). I also had a more gestural control scheme in mind but i didn't have time to try it out. Maybe next time!
Totally agree on the restarting in the same room. Restarting at the beginning was a product of time more than anything. I was tempted at one point to remove all dying from the game, but kept it in to maintain the sense of challenge. sorry about that.
Thanks for the latest feedback guys! Yep there are air currents in some rooms, indicated by the flowing particles. At the moment your rank is determined by the amount you collect before leaving, not the time you take. That would probably make sense with a context to it. As for what kills you, its if you bump the very top of your head on the spinning leafs, bumping any other part of your body is fine. A health bar or (reducing leafs with each hit) might have been a better idea than one hit kill.
Thanks for all the feedback, i'll be sure to include as much as I can in a future version. I've done a test on iPhone and it works great except for "big thumbs syndrome", so i'll be changing the controls around for that but keep the basic mechanics in tact, along with new rooms, better visuals :)
Like has been mentioned, sound will make this game come alive. I'm gutted i didn't have time make any before the compo deadline, but i'm experimenting with different audio styles now, will keep you updated.
As for 81 / 82, i've found its pretty easy to not fly on the right hand of the hill in the last room, try there.
Thanks again
I Liked the intro text, it set the tone (and the controls explanation) well :) Surprised at how massive the map was (bravo!), but think i would have preferred something a bit smaller to stop me feeling so lost.
"3X Yes"
Music ambience is suitable creepy, but there didn't seem to be a good use for the bombs you carry?
This somehow reminded me of Fling Smash on wii ( strange i know ). Overall, mental, but good to see some progression in there. Possibly a little too random though so wasn't a game i felt i could get "better" at by playing it more.
Bonkers! Good sense of humour ( i'm assuming you googled escape and this was one of the top hits? )
