@all: Thanks for all your responses, i really appreciate it :)
It't funny to see that most of you say its rather too difficult than too easy. I always thought it was too easy, but thats of course because i played it all the time while i develop it :D
And a good balancing in 48 hours (or in my case 24 hours) is almost impossible.

I also uploaded a timelapse, unfortunatly i forgot to start it in the beginning, so its only some parts of the whole time. Hope you enjoy it anyways.

I liked the (simple) gameplay, the graphics, the humor and the game in general.

BUT:
the Game crashes or freezes everytime for me before i could finish it. Very disappointing for me :(
I tried to run it in Eclipse (using your sourcecode) to figure out if an exception occurs, but it starts with the GAME OVER screen and I don't have time to figure it out :P

It would be great if you figure out the Problem!!!
But good rating is guaranteed.

I tried to play the Game on Linux (no Windows here at the moment) by using Wine.
It seems to work perfectly at first. Graphics, controls and everything worked.

But every level was the same as the one before. No enemys just going from left to right. I was a little confused but then looked to this site and saw the Screenshots. They look great.
I think I should play it on a windows machine when i have access to it again :)

I think its the best theme game i played so far, great job on that!

One thing i have to say:
I know its hard to find a good way to introduce the controls and infos about the gameplay and a simple text is easy and fast do do.
But I think thats the worst thing to do, because noone likes to read long text (maybe thats a problem with that comment too xD) especially before they start playing.
So I think most skipped the text and dont remeber the controls/tips
Long story short, good intro is very important :)

I just wrote longer text to game that are worth it, and yours was!
Really great job, looking forward to see more LudumDare entries from you :)

At first I have to say, the post-Combo is way better in all ways.

Only pushing one of these things at a time and waiting after it passed a gate was very annoying in the combo version.
Also the audio fits.

Although I really like the concept (and it fits perfectly to the theme) most time I had no idea what i was doing.
I just keep pushing these things in the gates and hope that something happen.
Maybe a little more instructions would have been great!

great game, very well narrated.

But i was a little disappointed with this "you need 700 points to see the ending thing" because i only get about 250 Points, and I am pretty sure that i wouldn't get much more if I tried it again.
It was too difficult to hold your points in the later levels, because the green things spawn to slow. So i didn't even try it a second time.

I played about 60+ Games so far, but I can honestly say this is my Favorite.

Great Idea, perfectly fitting to theme, nice graphics, easy and intuitive Gameplay and fun, really fun!

I am amazed you a managed to create a solid AI and most of all, the game is even good balanced. In 48 hours, a really great accomplishment.
If I had to search for a little little point, I could say that the soundeffect are a little enoying, but well its easy to mute :D
I really hope others see the game as good as i see it and you will get one of the first places in this LD :)
So glad i found this, even if its only the last day of judging

First of all: great game.

I like the simple gameplay, the concept, fitting graphics, nice atmosphere.
But it gets boring after 2 round, its just too easy and not much to do for you. Also to control the asteroid AND the creatures is maybe to much. Only the asteroid would make it more challenging and better i thing.

A word to the level of difficulty: I think its very hard to find the right level here and as I know that most people rating the game like easier and "finishable" games more (at least I prefer them) I choose a easy difficulty.

But therefore I added the hardcore-mode version which is a REAL challenge, even for me as developer :)

Quit a good game, I enjoyed playing it. I don't really know why, but I love this kind of graphics.

I really love the gameplay concept of making the level so difficult that the hero must die as it is the opposite of what you want if you are the hero yourself.
One small note, I would like the level to be more different because after 5 or 6 level of doing almost exactly the same thing I got a little bored.

quit a cool game even its a little frustrating after a while.
All I can say is that i got 10million by robbing Bern, but that was easy :D
But maybe I am just too bad for the game.

I also wanted to look at the source files (actualy the first time in this LD) as I was impressed how fast the game loads but I cannot find them.

Edit: Ok i see it must be the gm81-File, and so I need Gamemaker to open it.

I searched for your entry as the your last one for LD24 was simply my favorite for all LD events so far.

And this one is pretty cool to. (I actually thought about using the concept of GTA for my game too, as it fits perfectly to the theme.)

I agree with some of the previous comments, that the minimap is really hard to read. I almost quit early because I couldn't find the person to give the drugs.

But nevertheless a great game. Good job :)

But really really good shit indeed. I loved the star-blur effect and the space flowers and the radiowaves and the earth, so everything :D
But I am not sure if its a good idea to play the game after smoking some of flowers, it was hard to do beeing sober ;)

And I agree with some of the comments, that there should be a faster way to get to the end boss, because after dieing two times I was to lazy to play it again.

I am also very confused in what language its written. Its not java but it depends on it. strange... Maybe I look on it later with more time.

Good game. It was really fun playing it.

Great game, I really like it. It was also a good level of difficulty. The last level was a little hard at first but I beat it after a few tries.

As it is written in my favorite language (Java) there are some things I want to say. First, I really prefer one and only one file a JAR. (I saw you had some difficulties, but it not that hard to fix it). Second, I don't like games that take 100% CPU.

But nevertheless, really good game :)
