Couldn't download the file, link wasn't working for me. I'm not sure if the service is overloaded or not

armornick 2012-04-23 04:38

Tried it and it should be working. Did you get an error message?

sidetrackgames 2012-04-23 04:50

Its an ok game, could turn out to be something with a few additional features :)

randomoutput 2012-04-23 05:06

appreciate the ending twist.

lukerissacher 2012-04-23 05:06

Click it!

mikelovesrobots3 2012-04-23 05:19

The OSX link says file not found, but I was able to download the .love file and run it via love. Nice first try. Keep it up!

Maybe you could make the microorganisms follow a trajectory and limit the number of mines. This way the user has to put the mines in an intersection point where 2 or more organisms cross.

armornick 2012-04-23 07:17

That was something I originally planned but things happened and I had to start over with only 10 hours left so I didn't have much time to work with.

josefnpat 2012-04-23 22:50

You monster. :)

triplefox 2012-04-24 05:34

I was a monster.

One word: ASCII <3

devwil 2012-04-24 22:37

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

Clicking cases things to stop moving. Then I can click a bunch of other things and kill 'em. So long as I use the wrong end of the mouse!

graytest 2012-04-25 15:43

Too easy (just click the enemy)! Could be fun with more features.

m-gryko85 2012-04-27 08:34

Too simple and too short. Fun ending screen :)

muhiz 2012-04-28 02:01

Humorous, own fonts, nice idea. Too easy.
Couldn't download .love file but running the sources through Love worked.

cyboot 2012-04-30 09:22

the shortest game i played so far, about 30 sec :D
But funny, i like the ascii graphics.

kratorspore 2012-05-01 07:47

A bit simple and short.

blackbulletiv 2012-05-01 08:14

This ends up being a click the enemy game, especially because you have unlimited mines. The enemy movement eases the difficulty even further.

The ending text was kind of amusing though, and you made it in Love2D, which is awesome.

One last thing: you credit sfxr for sound effects, yet I heard nothing play? Is this a bug?

jezzamon 2012-05-01 09:11

Hey, just letting you know that that preview image isn't very good. When viewed from the list of games, it just seems completely black. Maybe upload a picture of a zoomed in section of the game? Something that's visible in the screenshot.

Also I'm getting a file not found error, and from the looks of the downloads, it seems like everyone else is too. :C

armornick 2012-05-03 04:30

It's a strange thing, those downloads. I uploaded the love file to github and it's even there in my list of files but when I click it, it says file not found.

About the sound, I did have sounds in my first version but some things happened and I had to restart with only 10 hours left so I didn't have time to implement everything.

datamosh 2012-05-03 06:22

LOL really short, but ASCII really adds personality to it!

robcozzens 2012-05-06 01:09

I would play it, but I'm on an iMac.

armornick 2012-05-12 06:49

Unless I'm very much mistaken, it should work on an iMac. Just download Love2d (from love2d.org) and the source and put them together.

tomhunt 2012-05-13 19:15

couldn't download the mac version. got a file not found error.
