Man those walking sounds are killing me, but a good game once I figured it out. Mushrooms Suck! :) maybe you can try our game if you get some time. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/belaruse-panic
@nandemoguy I very much regret the walking sounds ahaha, I highly suggest playing at low volume. I'll check out your game right now, thanks for the feedback :)
I like the use of the in-place tutorial (where the keys are on the wall in the house.) The "walking on a sphere" vibe is great and captures the theme well Would love a way to mute the walking sound. I like that you remind me I can use "E" to interact in a very obvious way, excellent usability for a game jam. Really impressed by the amount of content! So many locations to go to. So many rooms, NPCs, locations to visit, enemies. Nice work.
I agree with guys before. I like the game and it worked fine for me.
There is actually a lot of content here but that audio.
Impressive amount of content for a 48h game! But as a lot of the others said: the sound needs to go :-)
Took some time till I got the knive. Afterwards still challenging but nice to play. At least a small-world-game with inhabitants :-)
Works fine on Mac. Very ambitious game for 48 hours! I appreciate all the characters and places to visit. Congrats for getting all this done. I got the knife, but wow, that mine was still pretty tough.
Good amount of content. Not my style anyway. Mac works fine.
It was really challenging at start, especially with only one knive.
I died a lot, but I made it in the end.
You did a astonishing game in only 48h!
I think that the difficulty of the game needs to be toned down a bit. There's a lot of content here, which is awesome for such a short development time, but the difficulty stems from being impotent in combat due to the controls. If your knife falls just short of an enemy for example, there's not much you can do. If an enemy respawns right next to you, there's not much you can do. I think if you had a button to retract the knife, or at least start off with two knives, it might be managable, but as is, it feels like you have to m,anipulate the game mechanics to beat the game.
It's a little hard to play, but it's doable. One of the main challenges is that attacking requires throwing your knife and then retrieving it. Maybe there should be a way to attack without throwing things, like a weaker punch if your knife is gone?
Okay, I give up. I don't get the knife. Most of the time, it wouldn't leave my body at all and I would automatically retrieve it, so I found myself spam clicking an enemy while dealing no damage to it. Whenever I actually threw it, of course, I missed the enemy and the knife was stuck behind it. Which is a shame, because I absolutely love the sloppy yet not annoying look&feel of the game (the day-night areas are great). It looks very well designed and I would love to get further into the game and try out trading, but the most I managed to collect before dying was 2 berries. Maybe I'm just bad at video games...
Alright man, hopefully you don't take this the wrong way but I was laughing throughout the game. The dialogue, the constant walking sound, the instant respawn to room. I loved it. The game is quite hard and has a lot of content but whatever, 5/5 humor.
I didnt even get a single mission finished because im to bad, but it was fun.
Took me quite a while before I managed to go a minute without dying, but aside from that, you did quite well with 48 hours.
I dead a lot! But I made it!! Excellent!
Thank you all for the wonderful feedback! Oh how I wish I could have added a "Mute walking sound" button. @phi in regards to the knife just disappearing and being picked back up, you were probably hugging the wall of the map (this is a bug, not intended!) and the knife thought it hit the wall you were already colliding with. I'm glad many of you enjoyed it!
