bonus points for developing on linux! :P

Cool game man, the grahpics and font really go togheter. But I suck at this type of games :( I believe I couldn't kill any alien ship haha

This was a fun idea. The graphics were good, and it had a nice arcade feel to it. The main problem I had was that it felt like I could "lose" the camera if I was going fast enough. This lead to me losing track of the Earth and losing it on wave 1.

Still though, this was an interesting defense game. Keep up the good work!

Really fun shooter, it took a bit of time to get the feel for the controls, but after I did, I really enjoyed the way it handled.

Immediately I was grabbed by your font, it feels very hand drawn in paint and I surprisingly enjoyed that quite a lot. I love the mechanic of knocking the enemy shots away with your own, and basically overpowering them with your barrage of rounds; I found the game quite frantic as I raced around trying to draw the enemy fire away from the planet. My only real criticism is the gunfire, it does feel a little repetitive after awhile, especially when you spam the left mouse button like I was.

Overall, Good job!

Didn't really work in Safari (but maybe you don't consider it a modern browser :D) I was unable to shoot and after like 5+ enemies got spawned, it started to lag terribly.

Nice solid little game matey.

Loved the controls, was fast paced! I liked the fact my bullets could push theirs out of the way. I did find it very hard, but I'm not very good at these types of games so I don't know if it's me being crap or your game is super hard hehe.

Liked the firing sound effect also!

Thanks for creating and sharing! Good job!

This is fun and there's a lot of clever bits I liked about it, but wow was I bad at it. I felt like it was too easy to end up way off in space. Probably just me being an idiot though.

I really liked how your ship orbits the planet. That felt really unique while still being a natural choice. I also liked how your shots would collide with the enemy shots so killing them was like a tug of war. I loved the font and the arrows when you got far away were helpful.

Nice job.

OK, I'm really bad at this game UNTIL the earth explodes in millions of pieces. I think I pretty much got slung away by the earth and reached escape velocity as I tried to chase down the incoming aliens. OK, guys, take earth, but you're mine!

Unfortunately once earth is gone, those aliens are not very interested in the player's ship after earth has been destroyed. They more or less hang out where they spawn and only shoot if you approach them. Zoom out and shoot long distance: you gonna win.

Technically, however, very well done. Controls are good, graphics are good, shooting your way through the enemy's bullets is good, sounds are good. I've lost earth, but I played until wave 17 or so.

Well done

Bullets bouncing off bullets was pretty funny. I'm pretty sure most of the damage done to earth when I played was caused by friendly fire . Overall pretty fun

Loaded in and accidentally shot Earth for 100 damage, interesting start to an interesting game! I like several things about it, I like that you can shoot the enemy bullets but I feel like something needs to be changed about it so that your not just continually shooting each others bullets. Maybe making the fire rate slower so you have to be more precise with them? But then again that would change the feel of the game potentially so I don't know what you think might be best! I enjoyed it though!

I think the fact that bullets collide with each other makes it unnecessary hard to even hit enemies. I don't mind the probably intentionally "floaty" physics, but the bullets were pretty frustrating. Maybe if bullets weren't so fast, so that you could actually circle around an enemy to hit it, evading it's bullets, it would play smoother? Other than that I have to say I enjoyed it :)

Love how you can keep playing after Earth is killed, the game has fun arcade-y space mechanics, and I don't mind the shooting mechanics too much. Overall, very fun game!

This game was fun in a sort of chaotic way. XD I found it a bit difficult to control the ship, and as a consequence I didn't feel like I was getting better even after multiple times playing trough.

maysick 2017-05-17 04:15

The hand drawn art actually gives off a really nice vibe! I'm awful at controlling the ship but I like the sheer amount of bullets at the screen at any time.

An average game for me. But nice gameplay

sgadrat 2017-05-17 07:34

I loved to keep playing while the earth was destroyed and exploding the last chunks of it! Great unexpected twist!

A bit hard to maneuver, which brought down the experience slightly. Absolutely love the idea but would've liked to see some more polish. The game is extremely hard, at my 6th or so playthrough I got to wave 2, but died lost my earth there. And as someone previously mentioned the gameplay gets very repetitive and killing space ships is more of a frustrating chore (due to maneuver difficulties) rather than a satisfying feeling, which is what you want to achieve.

How could this be achieved? I'd say firstly fine-tune the controllers - you go to the right side of the earth to kill an enemy, you will reach a high velocity and then scramble to regain control and pursuit the ship, then repeat for that other enemy ship on the other side. It's too much scrambling for control. To reach the enemy ships in time you need full speed, with full speed you will lose control of the ship. Or perhaps I'm just bad, I did however play the game 10-15 times or so and consider myself skilled in the art of gaming. This is my attempt to give some feedback on what could be done - analyse it as you will.

Overall extremely jealous of your game, definitely gonna look through the source code! Wonderful art and a great idea, I love these kinds of games. Great job!

Pretty cool game! I wish I could fix the energy of my ship (maybe renewable shield, non-renewable haul?)
