This is adorable, however the level with the arrows doesn't seem possible.

I enjoyed this one a lot. Great work.
Love the idea, but i'm stuck at the end of the 3rd level at the long jump with all the arrows.
Potto pls
Yo dudes with arrows, you need to stand to the left of the planet and then jump and move around to reach the destination
Finally, a game with realistic physics! That moment when you realize how this game really works is amazing.
Very nice work
Hah! That was incredible. Great story, slick art, and most importantly *that gravity*. Really wish I could vote right about now.
Interesting physics. Took some time to understand them (until the level with the arrows), but in hindsight it's pretty obvious. At the end, I was able to get to the final planet without touching any planet in between :D.
Really cool game. only complain, the main technique (not just jump in the direction of a planet) isn't really explain, I had to see your gif to understand.
After that, that was perfect. It's cool to have differents planets with differents (and interesting) mechanics. I would love to have more levels!
(and if someone wants to try a speedrun, I would love to see it, there are many really cool shortcuts to found!)
Funny story! Very nice platformer. Well-chosen sound. Learning curve and emotions - excellent.
Want more tips about gravity. Maybe flying debris?
I'm not very good att games that demand coordination, but I still got addicted and had to play it to the end! Nice touch to have a little story with it, too.
Haha! Really nice. So many things make this great. Good job.
Very nice graphics, it looks very beutiful and fun. The soundtrack and the story are well done too. However I did not really found the gravity intuitive (for me) it makes a way to pass each stages easily. But it makes the game different too, and I like it!

Great game! The mechanics are well made and used in a innovative way in my opinion. Maybe it could have a little more thought into the map design, half of the maps i ended jumping from the start to the finish, but hey that was fun too!
Nice game! I liked it.
I really liked it. Great graphics and funny story. Nice new idea. However, I didn't really like the level design, it was quite flat.
Cute little game! Graphics and sound were funny and set a happy-go-lucky mood.
The physics-based mechanics were a bit odd, but once you understand how it works it poses an interesting challenge (some people have mentioned about the levels being somewhat exploitable to beat, but I tried to play fair).
Nice job!
Really funny back story. I approve of using the adjective "space" to comedic effect. I'm not a fan of platformers, but I found this an innovative platform type, and was actually able to play a few levels. Then my poor hand-eye cordination got the better of me.
Good showing!
I streamed my playthrough on https://www.twitch.tv/jamgrrl
Cute game. Nice backstory. I wish the tutorial arrows on level 3 were thee from the start to show how to use gravity in the jump.
This was incredible ! Great gamplay, grpahics are cute, music is nice, there's a lot of content... Loved it :)
Feel free to check out our game : https://thefunattic.itch.io/bubblenaut
Have a nice day :)
Also, I suck at platformers. Would have just rather hit spacebar to respawn rather than enter. I love the little bounce of a planet when you land on it!
Wow this looks amazing!
The controls on this game are SO tight. Everything feels super polished. The gravity mechanic threw me off in the beginning (I expected super mario galaxy type multi planet gravity) but I enjoyed the fact that the unidirectional gravity was used as a tool to solve puzzles. The level design could use some work, but overall, a very interesting mechanic that was very well executed.
Really well done. Controls are tight and intuitive, the gravity mechanic is fun, and the art is hilariously adorable. Overall very polished.
How do you kill a space god? Moon sized spiky balls will do the trick nicely. Funny stuff all around :tada:
The physics are a bit weird, you can :cheese: your way through most levels with the *horizontal no gravity jump*. At least they are consistent and not buggy.
Great graphic and audio too. Well done!
Haha! Poor Potto, can't do anything right.
Great game! I had a lot of fun. The challenge level was just right.
Maybe a "challenge" mode where you may only jump a limited number of times? (Inspired by your GIF racing through the diagonal-spikes enclosure level)
Haha, the story is amazing. The game is fun, although having a game mechanic which let's you basically skip any level might need a little more tweaking in the level design.
Anyways highly polished entry, I liked it! :)
cheers~
I have to say, you are really talented when it comes to setting up a game and telling a story. The little comic in the beginning sets up the game tremendously well and the one at the end gives it proper closure. It was a very fun read.
The game's graphics are pretty good and fitting the comic vibe you set up in the beginning. The music is atmospheric and sets the mood well without becoming too repetitive. The sound effects are really cute. Did you record them yourself?
The game itself is a lot of fun and you managed to bring together a lot of different planet mechanics that keep the player entertained. Although there were frustrating bits, I never had the feeling that I wanted to quit the game before finishing it.
I very much appreciate that you can press Enter at any time to reset the level. It alleviates the frustration of failure by setting the player back into the game quickly (Hotline Miami and Super Meat Boy do this very well)
My biggest (and to be fair only) complaint would be the gravity mechanics. It took a while to figure out how the game works and it is playable, but it is not very intuitive. The gravity changes opposite to the direction you jump off to, which makes gravity relative to your position which feels very unnatural. Also there is absolutely no gravitational pull of the other planets, so you can almost touch the next planet, but are still dragged down to where you come from.
It may be a matter of choice here, but it may have been worth exploring real gravitational mechanics. It might competely turn over your design, but it would have been more accessible.
That complaint aside, I had a great time playing Space Hummus.
I love your entry: the sounds, the looks, the smooth controls, everything! My only complaint is that you can skip large portions of the levels by jumping the right way (add more spikes).
Really enjoyed it, my fav so far!
What's your secret, @dietzribi? Why are your ludum dare games so good?
Ok this is amazing! The graphics, the animations the juiciness! +1 for Potto amazing design i love his face haha and Space Vegans Space Gluten?? My only concern is that you can jump from the first planet to the last one and skip the whole level in a lot of levels (you have to be good at controling Potto) you can do some funky stuff with this game gravity haha; still think you nailed it.
For example this level, the first one with fire planets http://prntscr.com/f2w9ym you can skip the challenge pretty easily, was that the point? You can do the same with the first level you are introduced to spring planets.
I rated very category with a 5, but overall i will give you a 4 star because of the way you can end the levels (wich i dont know if it was intended or not)
Lovely graphics, fun game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation [video series](https://youtu.be/CCYaVM8tRMM), if you’d like to take a look :)
Hey! This is a lot of fun! I just wish you had more levels, and the game added new challenges more. Most levels can be beaten with one or two jumps, so they kind of feel the same.
Innovative concept! However it became a little easy once I figured out I could just jump off the first planet and fly all the way to the end. The issue is that the level is too linear, and I can't quite think of a suggestion to fix it...
Awesome game! Solid physics and fun mechanics. The music and humor was 👌 💯. Very glad to see another space platformer, and such a good one!
Great game, one of my favorites so far! I loved all the graphics and art. At first, I thought the physics were like Mario Galaxy, but when I realized how they actually worked, everything clicked. I know we talked a bit about the input while I was streaming - that's really the only problem I had but I'm not sure if there's a better way to handle it.
I also thought it was nice how you could "cheat" if a level was too difficult, but it does rely on players to regulate difficulty for themselves. If you expand on this, you could add collectables that require players to visit all sections of a level, for completionists.
Anyway, great job!
It was really a fun small game, I think I've smiled a lot.
I like the planet's graphics too... somehow very effective and still simple.
And I cheated a bit to get through it, but I never know what the intention was.
I love the use of color in this game. The game is a little difficult, but this is not a bad thing. If I were to suggest one thing, I would warn the player before the fire-planets start flaring (maybe by glowing quickly before flaring).

Cool game! I'm definitely love in how u present your story with a simple scratch like comic!
Game concept is still fine since i played some of the planet gravity attraction type game like this before, and i played a lot of buggy jump to skip a lot of planet between the starting point and potto. Is the move allowed in the concept of your level designation?
Btw, the overall is definitely blew me off, i'll give a nice rate to your game, cheers bro!
Nice entry! I liked the story with the intro and outro. ^^ The music and the drawing style fit nice with it. I had to get used to that gravity depended on the last planet you touch. I needed the hint in the comments to pass level 3. ;) Well done!
****What I Liked:****
* I really loved the gravity mechanic. It may not have been realistic, but it was fun to use! * Jumping felt incredibly satisfying, especially paired with the SFX. * The music was really fitting and great, especially for a compo game. * Everything was explained really well. * Due to the gravity system, there were lots of different solutions for a single level. This added lots of depth! * There was a good amount of content here. It may have been on the shorter side, but that's just about perfect for a Ludum Dare game. * I loved the graphics! They were really clean and polished. * The game had some nice humor.
****Minor Nitpicks:****
* Earlier I said that there were different solutions for each level, which I liked, but sometimes I could fall through almost the entire level without having to think much. If you could make the options a bit more restricted, that would be great for a post-compo version.
****Great job and thanks!****
Comics were great, I laughed out loud at the end. Otherwise very good in general.
Funny game :D I liked your humor in this one. Graphics were clean, consistent, and fit with the humor. The only con which has already been stated is the ability to flat out skip most levels! I understand it probably isn't an option to change your gravity mechanic; I just feel like the easiest path to victory will be exploited, so a good idea might be to add shiny coins along the intended path to reward those who take the long way. Great game, can't wait to see what comes next.
Good concept and great intro humor! the physics could use a bit of work, but otherwise, good game
I played this before rating system was up, very cool entry.
I loved it! I'm ashamed to say that I cheated on some levels.. but I loved the story(cute and funny), the music and the art.
This is a very good game! It's fun and funny. I really liked the story, the levels are diverse and intuitive and the amount of challenge and the difficulty ramp up are just right.
And I did all the levels like they were supposed to be played! ;)
You also managed to make it really stylish. Music is excellent and those graphics are simple but feel just right! I must say you greatly improuved in this field since last Ludum Dare.
PS. Vegan burgers are actually delicious :P
Really adorable graphics. Gameplay is not super intuitive, but real nice)
It was easy to beat the game with a flying trick, right from a starting planet. But maybe this is a kind of "easy to learn - hard to master" thing.
Sounds are just adorable.
The only issue I noticed that some plannets reset the animation when you jump on them which leads to a visual lag.
Simple idea, funny story, very well-manufactured... great!
Really fun! Love the music. The physics is definitely interesting and takes some getting used to but that's quite fun too. Some levels are quite hard, got to level 5 so far. Will play a bit more if I can get past it.
One of the best I've seen in this LD. Innovative, cute, and fun. I wish I could make this good tunes too.
The non-tutorial in game tutorial is introduces concepts very well. I really liked the hint that appeared at the first planet where you have to fall from the other side of the planet. Can't really say what's so good about it; it is just placed very well.
The difficulty really spikes after a while, though this is to be expected for this type of game.
The story intro is fun and still short enough to not overstay it's welcome (I have a half-serious food allergy so most of my friends can associate with the perils of the main character).
Nice results. Congrats, @dietzribi!
I also included your game in an article of my favorites here: http://fireside.gamejolt.com/post/jam-favorites-ludum-dare-38-vepwgamy
