LD30 — Connected Worlds

Life VS by donut345 2014-08-25T17:54:00

The basic ruleset is either explained in a complicated way or is such. I found myself just placing blocks at random and looking at the seemingly random results. Great game when you get the gist of it and great fun for a while mostly thanks to the great design and look. Pretty innovative.

Molyneux God by Capitals 2014-08-25T17:32:00

An impressive game considering the limitations this competition gives. But please link your source files as it's required in the rules!

Bolder Rolling by Wspon 2014-08-25T18:22:00

Looks stunning and plays great! The only thing I found annoying is the huge collision radius for the spikes.

Zeit by Waterman7 2014-08-25T19:21:00

Definitely innovative and a great way of approaching the theme.

Untangle~! by Konrad Zegis 2014-08-25T17:37:00

A very short game and seems to lag a lot. Not very innovative but I like the way you approached the theme.

Asteroid Rage by elmoGames 2014-08-25T15:55:00

I like the fact that you have to rescue other ships instead of just shooting everything to bits. The game is actually a bit easier if you just concentrate on avoiding. A few times an asteroid spawned over me so I died instantly.

@MarekkPie I would like to explain the game to you but I don't want to spoil it for others. The combat has been built so that it's fun at first but gets boring. And then you see that the whole point of this game is something else...

@Andre Blyth I claimed that the sound effects are aweful. :) I think the music fits well, but it's generated so I can't take so much credit of it. It required a lot of trying to get the right melody though and I did change and tune some of the instruments in FL Studio.

@lukz I wouldn't like to spoil this game to the others, but make it more rewarding... It's kind of like the opposite in this game. :)

They Were Just Pixels by Ohems 2014-08-25T17:07:00

I love it how many people think this is just a regular beat em up game.

Gray Area by Resonious 2014-08-25T16:02:00

Well made and enjoyable game. Some of the sound effects, mainly death, reset and victory, were awefully loud compared to the music. Most of the puzzles were really great!

World Warper by gamehelp16 2014-08-25T16:25:00

WASD controls would have matched a lot better with the mouse. Nice at first but gets a bit boring quickly.

Entangled mass by Rojetskidev 2014-08-25T16:09:00

Enemies come through walls, health bar is really big and blocks some of the assets, background begins to hurt your eyes, some objectives are hard to find, screen shake is way too strong and there's this annoying sound that loops all the time without any clear reason. A decent game with many smaller issues.

Bridging Planets by Jonathan Gorard 2014-08-25T16:45:00

The fact that I subconsciously try to lead the target and the fact that the tether trajectory may suddenly change its direction when moving the cursor made this game really hard to me. Also, sometimes it may get annoying to wait for the tether to complete even though you immediately know that you failed. Looks decent though and is overally a good game.

Starlight by stephenhaney 2014-08-25T17:45:00

Rules state that everything has to be done within 48 hours and no images from the internet are allowed. How did you get that earth texture and many of the other planet textures?

Midspace Madness by kmasiulis 2014-08-25T17:05:00

I like the fact that those smaller competing planes are just mimicing your movements. Lazy but functional. Looks good on a HD screen and is really fun for a while, although the speed gets so fast that avoiding some of the obstacles is almost impossible. Also, I didn't get how this game follows the theme.

Flight of the Worlds by Schwiggy 2014-08-25T17:14:00

Way too easy and after a while of playing it seemed like it wouldn't get any harder. Graphics are ok. Please add a link to your source though, as that is required in the rules.

Connected We Run by Sandcrawler 2014-08-24T19:44:00

Not only that, but your score increases steadily when watching the Game Over screen. You can get infinite points :P

Connected We Run by Sandcrawler 2014-08-24T19:44:00

Also, is the map totally random? Because I met a few situations where it was impossible to proceed.

Wait, wha?

Blobs RPG by Kalman90Grape 2014-08-25T19:37:00

I don't know if this is a bug, but the range of the slime shots is incredibly small.

A Game of Worlds Colliding by Dx724 2014-08-25T15:48:00

Is it a bug or a feature that some of the planets go really wild? :) Also, game over screen is just gray. Idk if that's how it's supposed to be.

Rebel Commander by Cake_Catastrophe 2014-08-25T20:12:00

Great game, but why did you use sounds that were created by someone else. Isn't that against the rules?

A World Apart by pighead10 2014-08-25T18:08:00

Many games here have approached the theme in a similar way, but this one was surprisingly fun and well made! And also surprisingly hard...
