Boulder Toss by quade81 2014-08-25T18:15:00
Very interesting and different, I liked it. The fun part was when I climbed to the top of the tree and got to rain boulders on the rest of the world.

That was just awesome. If it was a little longer, it would definitely be worth paying for.
Very well done, especially designing that many levels in a short amount of time.
IeDragoon, you have to have Java installed on your computer to play this, from that error message it sounds like you don't. Go here to get it:
http://java.com/en/download/
Ohems: You can only have one Slime shot "active" at a time. So if one is flying, and you press space, the one currently out gets deleted and a new one is fired. So just don't hold space or tap it too fast.
Fanttum: Not sure which part you meant did not work, but I just answered both problems so hopefully you can fix it.
Jaenis: Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear someone thinks it's okay. I am definitely entering the next Ludum Dare, at which point I should have more Java experience (And more free time, I hope), and thus should be able to create a better game.
nerd burglars: If Chrome thinks this isn't safe, well, I can't really help you, sorry. All I can say is that I don't use Chrome, I use Mozilla Firefox, where it works fine.
DarkCart: As with nerd burglars, I can't really help you. Try a different browser is all I can suggest, but I do promise there is nothing malicious in this game (Besides spikes).
Dook: Thanks, you're awesome. As I was saying to Jaenis, I should have more experience, and hopefully free time (As the post says, I was only able to work about 15 out of 48 hours of the competition) next time around, and thus should be able to incorporate more into my next game. In the beginning I was hoping to have enemies to fight, puzzles etc. in this one, but I was not able to. Thanks for trying this out!
@gene-z, I'm not sure what you mean. Did you extract the files from the zip before running the game?
@jukimv1986 Oh thanks, I didn't realize you could change the name to whatever you wanted. I updated it now.
@GuillaumeGwi Thanks! And actually, that was a semi-bug. I meant for all the traps to disappear and for the knight to be replaced with the boy. The bug was that the game did not explain why this happened. When you touch the Little Old Bloby at that point, she's supposed to say "I did appreciate your help earlier. Allow me to help you now.", but for some reason the message doesn't show up, and I wrote that part last minute and didn't have time to fix it. So that stuff is supposed to happen, the bug just makes it to where you think that was a bug... if that makes sense.
@DvanderAart Thanks!
DesignerNap: Are you sure that you have Java installed? As far as I know if you do you should never get that message.
@Wertle Thanks for the awesome feedback, it really does mean a lot to me, knowing that some people think I did okay.
WOW. This game is crazy. And frustrating. Yet satisfying each time you beat a level. Great job. Although, I gave up when I had two rooms left to go...
Thanks! And do you mean there was a bug that wouldn't let you go past, or do you mean you just didn't know how to?
@ChrisMingay thanks for trying to try it! And, like I said in the main post, that happens a lot of the time. If you keep on running it though it will work eventually.$
@Marcellus ditto ^.
@aidinviper were you telling me that? Because I'm the only person who worked on this game. If so then thanks!
@Igor KinGamer Ha ha ha, there are two "resource" folders. One is useless and I just never deleted it. The other is in the "code" folder, that one has all the stuff in it.
@Jovoc Thanks! And sorry you couldn't get it to run. I've been trying to find a fix for that, still haven't figured it out yet though.
jeepracer98: Thank you! I'm glad you were able to get it to work!
@skulioskarsson Yep!
@maxmetallica Thanks!
And Ludum Dare 31 is over!
Ha ha ha, that was awesome! Great job. I'm glad he wasn't a PokéBall. I found one bug actually, after the bottom of the box came off, the ball bounce up into the top left corner and got stuck inside the right wall, going up and down. I was able to get out after a little bit of rapid space tapping though. Other than that, good work.
Interesting and unique idea. I like it!
@pianoman373 thanks for the feedback. I'll see about putting the files in a jar.
@UrbanHelsing Ha ha, yeah, it is annoyingly long. But I wanted it to be realistic.
Wevel: Yeah, I wish I had enough time to do something like that. This was my first time ever using edit boxes in Java to let the user type in text, actually. I probably could have made it better if I knew more. Thanks for the reply.
@Langouste Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
amras0000: Oh, I mistyped 1 Corinthians 3:15. It's supposed to be 1 Corinthians 3:10-15.
Jajo: Heh heh, sorry about that. I think it works better needing a Bible to play, but it does limit who can play sometimes. Fortunately, I think more people own Bibles than any other book in the world. And sound would be cool. I just have to figure out how to do it in Java.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the idea.
Panurge: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
Snicklodocus: Thank you! I was hoping it would be different from the other games in the competition.
@Red_Fan games if you can tell me how to do what you want, I will. But it is Java so it technically should work with Linux without me doing anything extra.
Um... I really don't know what to say to that... it was interesting? I played for about 45 minutes... I had no idea what was going on the entire time. I really liked the graphics, and the sound was good. But... it was so hard... and... I don't know. When I quit, I had killed 343 enemies and had 360000$. I tried to defeat all the enemies but I guess they don't stop spawning. The game was close to crashing when I quit. Good job on the graphics and sound.
Interesting!
Interesting idea. As the others have said, the click bug does tend to mess it up a little, and for some reason I can randomly jump to the top of the screen. Besides that though, it's a pretty good idea. I could imagine this being a cool intro to a space game. You crash and have to survive for a while with just a gravity gun, until help arrives or you figure out what to do next.
Ha ha ha! Very funny, and nice ideas.
@pianoman373 yep, I really wish I had gotten to add the fun stuff. Thanks about the music. It's the part of the project I'm most proud of.
Interesting idea! Reminds me of World of Goo. You should keep working on this and make it a real game.
This is an amazing idea! I don't care that it has nothing to do with the theme, I love it, thank you for making it! As @MrEvilGuy said, the typing is a very interesting mechanic... just like in the movies, you "randomly press keys" to break into the system.
I'd like to ask one thing, though. After you exploit the server, does the game end? I couldn't really tell if I was supposed to do something else after that, and when the people told me to wait... well, I may have sat there for thirty minutes or so waiting for a response....
Anyway, great stuff, I will be checking back on this game daily as I eagerly anticipate any updates. If I had a list of my top three favorite Ludum Dare games of all time, UNH4CK3D would have made it on there!
My one and only complaint: it's crackers, not hackers.
