LD30 — Connected Worlds

The Lion's Song by LeafThief 2014-08-28T12:32:00

Amazing art and writing, I enjoyed every moment of it.
Some of the choices felt a little redundant as a few were
the same choice phrased in a slightly different matter, but
that is the only critique I have for this game.
Great job, a very strong entry and one of the best I've
played this Ludum Dare.

Onanigan by alvivar 2014-09-12T05:54:00

I really liked the atmosphere and the overall design!
Like others I had some trouble with the controls but not
something that big of a deal. I really enjoyed this, good
job.

Mammoth Monkey Mole by ehtd 2014-09-03T20:28:00

Cool puzzle design and use of the different characters.
Some of the layouts feel a little too open while the puzzle
itself is in an area of only a few squares, but that's just
a really minor gripe. Well done~

Heart Star by AdventureIslands 2014-08-28T07:43:00

Amazingly well done and polished!
Great graphics and sound, perfect use of the theme and
great puzzle design around the main mechanic.
The pacing of the puzzles was perfect, I would have loved
to play more. You should make a bigger game out of this,
one of the best Ludum Dare 30 games I've played.

Chaos Heart by YMM 2014-08-26T21:40:00

Great graphics and design! Awesome job on the
character especially! I love it that when the
timer reaches zero you go berserk with full
on laser destruction :) Controls were tight as well,
great job everybody

Just an Otter Game by Logan 2014-08-27T09:59:00

Great use of the theme!
You should maybe put a hint or something at the start of
the game or at the description so people know that there
is more to it, and won't miss out.
I enjoyed the shifting mechanic but on some occasions it
was unclear where do I need to proceed in order to expand
the newly shifted perspective.
Great concept overall with cool graphics, I really liked
how similar the zelda themed world looked to the original.
Good job

Warp Paint by zatyka 2014-08-26T14:30:00

Really cool and well designed puzzles, it is clear that
a lot of thought went into the design process. Good job!
The stages are built in a way that gets progressively more
difficult but lay out the mechanics in a way that help you
overcome the later challenges with the knowledge you
acquired. Had lots of fun with this

Ordinary Weekdays of Tech Support of Parallel Worlds by SaintHeiser 2014-09-10T08:07:00

Great graphics, audio, design and creativity!
I like what you did with the theme and it feels very
original and well put together. A great achievement for
48 hours, well done!

Boat/Mouth by PeteGrammarman 2014-09-04T19:20:00

Cool multi-tasking and really nice art!
I've always wanted a boat and mouth themed game O;

I Must See You by Split82 2014-08-28T10:50:00

Extremely polished and well done for 48 hours, great job!
I enjoyed it a lot, impressive and fun.

Space Puncher by ShadowBrain 2014-08-26T12:42:00

Satisfying punching experience :)
I could not see the theme really fitting in here
but had lots of fun regardless

BOND by ConflictiveLabs 2014-09-03T17:15:00

Great art style and cool concept. The post-compo version
really improves on the entry, good job! I had fun with the
main mechanic, this can lead to some tricky puzzles.

Links by esayitch 2014-08-25T21:05:00

I enjoyed the little pep talks at the game over screen, very amusing!
The game plays well and is very challenging, it is a great
idea to have the links randomly add gameplay mechanics on
the fly. Very original take instead of just letting you
switch and provide power ups. You can never know what to expect when picking up a link.
Recommended!

Seminecata by blackcode 2014-08-26T12:26:00

This is one of the most fun games I've played on ld 30.
I liked the drawings and how the alternate realities
interact with each other. This concept can be worked on
to a larger scope and seeing an extended version of this
game would be awesome.
I believe this is one of my higher scored entries, well done
with this great little game!

CyberSwap by _Rilem 2014-08-26T14:51:00

"Im actually playing a game called Scubabear, don't tell anyone" haha great. Fantastic art and programming, well done.

Heavenly Finger Squad by Alexandre Szybiak 2014-08-25T08:50:00

Great! Can definitely be worked into a mobile port~
I could only reach a high score of 30 >:

Racist Restaurants by TijmenTio 2014-09-04T19:26:00

Great graphics and audio, really funny as well!
Sometimes the screen can get a little too clustered but
I guess that's part of the fun
dat breakfast burito

Siphon - Ent Garr Fon Kull by lotusgame 2014-09-02T09:39:00

Innovative and surprisingly complex for a ludum dare game.
Good job!

13 minutes of light by Jod 2014-08-25T22:32:00

Great writing! Had lots of fun reading throughout
I'ts also nice to see so many features in the menu, like
changing the text speed and saving, especially in a ludum
dare game.

Cross World Builder by lolofinil 2014-09-02T09:43:00

Concept it good but it suffers from some serious glitches,
I have everything in place yet still can't complete the
first level because the characters fall through the blocks.
Would love to play this some more, please find a fix

On the edge of Earth: 5000 by Hypnohustla 2014-08-25T11:27:00

Great game all around, love it!

The Long Way Home by MRvanderPants 2014-08-28T08:48:00

Nice graphics and sound, I also got the random character
switch happening a couple of times.
Good entry

NECLiD by 0x0961h 2014-08-25T20:17:00

I liked the concept a lot, and I like how different
yet somehow connected the character look.
This is taking the old push-box-formula into new grounds, somebody had to do it!
One of the better entries I've seen, well done!

The Veiled World by panurge 2014-08-26T21:07:00

Funny and enjoyable, when I heard the character pronunciations
I knew already that I'm going to like this.
Well done sir, had lots of fun!

Telep0rtal by acerunox 2014-09-05T11:03:00

Nice music and visuals, but I really wish that the
portal mechanic actually worked. Very difficult, but
satisfying.

The Subconscious by Snicklodocus 2014-09-06T09:09:00

Original and creative, very well done!
I like how abstract the game feels at first and you are
not clear on the objective but the drive and rules of the
game are unfolding slowly as you play. Great.

Other Side by Raphy 2014-09-09T05:53:00

Beautiful!

InfiLoop by komjaur 2014-08-25T10:42:00

Possibly there is some sort of glitch in the web version, after the 'COME BACK' part when falling down the pit my screen tinted and the game was stuck. I enjoyed it while it lasted though, I really liked Antichamber and this is a nice tribute

Dreamonaut by hbocao 2014-08-27T10:01:00

I really liked the visuals and mood, I wish I could have
more precise idea of where my shots would land as it was
a little difficult to align it at times.

Galilei by Psoeter 2014-09-07T19:22:00

Great visuals and sound.
I enjoyed exploring even though everything is a little slow
very atmospheric!

Soulmates by Jiyambi 2014-08-25T09:04:00

Very cool idea and design behind this.
I liked visuals a lot, could be a nifty mobile
game that works well with touch screens.

Incantation by Danman9914 2014-09-03T19:45:00

Clever design and great use of the theme!
I liked the sound effects as well, could
be made into a very neat post compo game

Cerebros by VonDare 2014-09-03T19:16:00

Really cool multi-tasking with the split screen!
Reminds me a little of how it felt to play The World Ends
With You on the DS. Would love to see some way to keep score.

Between Two by Zekronz 2014-09-04T07:39:00

Nice simple visuals and enjoyable music. I felt like the last
two levels (not counting the final Thank You level) were a
little easier than the level that came before. Cool mechanic
and very fun gameplay, I enjoyed it throughout.

Connessi by Cash 2014-08-28T11:18:00

The idea was good, but the controls were not well optimized
for the concept in my opinion. You have to constantly
switch between positioning your hand on different areas of
the keyboard and the mouse, especially because you can not
switch characters while still having you hand at the
movement keys position. Could be solved in numerous ways
including enabling WASD controls or alternatively letting
the player switch characters by (right/left) clicking their
window. That way you have one hand at a certain area of
the keyboard and the other on the mouse and have more fluid
control.
Also it is important to note that it is not very clear that
you need to press ENTER to start the game and that is
probably why ice cold muffin posted that he is confused.
Overall I think that the concept has a lot of potential and
I liked the colors that you picked, keep it up

Complex: A Teleportation Adventure! by interwebsninja 2014-08-28T11:00:00

You should upload an archived file containing both the executable and the data folder in it as it does not let users download the complete data folder as a whole, only each file that is inside separately. I doubt that anybody would spend so much time downloading over 20 items individually, and that is probably why no comments have yet
been posted and I also doubt that the people who ranked it
did.

Girl, Alien and Robots by Glint Games 2014-08-26T12:35:00

It's a shame that you rushed a bit with the
main controls and jumping mechanics as it
detracts from the experience of an otherwise
very cool game. It was all going so fast and
I couldn't feel in control of my characters :(
Love the alien design, very cute!

Last Fight by Batuhan 2014-08-28T11:05:00

Pacing is rather slow and it is a bit awkward not having
any way to determine where the troops would spawn.
Graphics were cool and I like these kind of games though
the theme is a little too subtle in my opinion.
Considering that you said you participated late I'd say
that you did a good job with the time you had, keep it up

Vibrastones by 5T4MP5 2014-08-30T22:01:00

Feels a little rough but overall very interesting
concept, would love to see this with more polish

Abyss by Damian Elkins 2014-08-28T12:51:00

I really did try but the website did not have anything other
than the main page text and the download link, I even checked
the source for the website but found nothing there. I did
play the game and reached one object that seemed like the
goal but nothing happened. I am clueless on how to solve
this puzzle, maybe it is too obscure? Not rating yet, let's
see maybe somebody else gets it.

Enduring Atlas by dickpoelen 2014-08-26T21:10:00

phenomenal visual design and overall aesthetic!
I like it when people do original stuff like this with
the theme, very creative.
Feels very solid all around, great job.

Hop Hop Planet by SnoutUp 2014-08-26T13:29:00

Great overall game with a cool design and a planet hopping
creature that looks like a raccoon, what more could you ask for?

The Way Home by kei 2014-08-26T07:00:00

I really liked the graphics and the overall aesthetic
though the controls were a bit clunky.
Great job with a new framework

interball by foolmoron 2014-09-07T07:57:00

Fun and interesting take on a familiar mechanic, can have
a lot more depth with some sort of power up system but
overall I think that it's simplicity is it's strength so
hard to tell. Anyways I played quite a few times and had
fun, so great game!

Elyseus by Crocanti de Pollo 2014-08-26T21:22:00

surprising development with the death system, very cool.
Had fun anhialating skeletons

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-25T20:26:00

Clever mechanic, great execution of the design, cool graphics and sound and awesome use of the theme. Pretty much a solid all around entry, awesome. Definitely up there at the top!

God probably doesn't like you by okeedokeben 2014-08-28T11:26:00

I played it through twice but still didn't really get
how this is connected to the theme, maybe I picked the
wrong choices? This is probably one of the funniest intros
I've seen though haha

Where's Mummy? by LevieDAudio 2014-09-03T19:38:00

Great mood and cool puzzle design.
I really loved the visual style, would love to see a post
compo version with more puzzles.

Space Breakers by DJWizardCop 2014-09-03T20:10:00

Very cool graphics and good gameplay. I had a hard time aiming
the ball for the boss section but overall I had lots of fun.
Would really benefit from audio.

Once Inside by TautNerve 2014-08-25T21:10:00

@nonetheless I would love to put a web version out as I know most people prefer playing it online (and some have different operating systems), but I am having some technical difficulties with Multimedia Fusion 2 with that. Maybe I could find a solution, if so I'm definitely putting a web version.

Once Inside by TautNerve 2014-08-26T21:33:00

Thanks for the kind words everybody! Played and rated
everybody who posted a comment, thanks for showing me
the way to your games :)

Once Inside by TautNerve 2014-08-28T11:41:00

@Shide I would not say that there is nothing to play, but rather that this is a different kind of game to most games
as this does not have a failure state. The general idea behind this game is exploring the world and building the backstory using the provided information pieces and visuals.
You could play the game and finish it by just walking all
the way to the right and then all the way to the left, but
what I tried to do is provide some distractions along the
way to guide the player into really sinking into the mood
and collecting the small little pieces of story into a
whole. But everybody entitles to their own opinion so hey,
this is just what I think about it :)

The Snake and the Silver Arrow - LD30 Edition by twintrite 2014-09-03T17:07:00

Nice first LD game, I thought the ending was pretty funny.
I also really liked the tress sprite, well done.
Actually I think that the fact that there wasn't any
music contributed to the mood.

NOODLE FEELING by Magdev 2014-08-27T12:51:00

Best noodle simulation game I've ever played.

Yggdrasil by stevens_studio 2014-08-27T13:34:00

I liked the backgrounds and environment design, would
love to see some more interaction available with the world.

Interplanetary Postal Service by Pirate Hearts 2014-08-25T20:04:00

A simple mechanic that is executed very well, nice use
of the theme as well. Had fun with this one!

Node 54 by silentlamb 2014-09-04T20:10:00

I had to struggle a little with the sensitivity of the
controls, but I guess that's part of the game's challenge.
I like the background but somehow wish that the foreground
could pop out a little more. Overall I had fun playing!

Kid Got Lost by PaperboxStudios 2014-08-27T13:15:00

It was a little difficult to manage shifting dimensions
because of how long the transition back was, and I sometimes
found myself hopelessly trapped. Other than that very
interesting design and I did enjoy the visuals and sound,
so good work! Level generation is a great feature

Gargoyle Abyss by imaginarymonsters 2014-08-26T14:21:00

Great pixel art and somewhat fluid controls, like the others
I really would have hoped to see more levels.
Great work on your Ludum Dare! Keep it up

Lucid by fisholith 2014-09-13T21:58:00

Great art and audio, lots of fun dashing around!
Very well built for 48 hours, great job!

HEAL by Stepwise 2014-09-03T16:59:00

Very cool idea, too bad you had no time to make more
levels. You should work on a post - compo version, the
idea is very good and I really like it!

Super Alien Bro by nerd burglars 2014-09-07T19:06:00

Nice pickups and overall platforming, great to have a web
build available. Nice audio and graphics as well!

Driver's License by Sanguine 2014-08-25T21:34:00

Now that's what I call crafting with style.
Love the share mechanic! Brilliant!
I also laughed out loud when I suddenly realized that I
have just picked up the tree, haha.

Inbetween Lands of Grass by From Smiling 2014-08-25T21:37:00

Loved the graphics and overall aesthetic.
I thought that I figured out the main mechanic
but couldn't quite figure out why some boxes
vanished while others turned into trees.
I restarted the game a few times but couldn't manage
to create a free path to complete it.
The real fun for me was actually to try and figure out the secret behind the game's mechanic, it was like solving a really good puzzle / riddle.

Cosmos Kings by Mr. 2014-09-03T19:48:00

Gets a little messy at times but overall a really good entry
with very cool visuals and solid audio. I love how the blocks
appear and disappear, well done!

Swich! by swich 2014-09-02T09:17:00

Difficult yet interesting gameplay, it was a little odd
for me at first but I got used to it. Sometimes it is not
reallly obvious which character is required to overcome
a certain area and even though I had time to switch I was
not sure what to do, but other than that it is a really fun
and enjoyable entry. Good job with the theme as well

Polar Dash by Cheesefork 2014-08-26T12:38:00

Awesome game, great character model and stage
graphics. It could definitely benefit from some
background music and some way of tracking how
far you have managed to run.
Can't go wrong with orange and blue :)

Orange by JaJ 2014-08-26T14:43:00

Wow, this was great.
Awesome art and game design, and very fun gameplay.
Incredible achievement for 48 hours, well done!

Tetrabomber by AndrewFM 2014-09-04T07:41:00

Could you possibly add a standalone .exe of the game that does
not require you to use an installer?

Warp Ryder Cup by Mach60KAS 2014-09-07T15:41:00

Nice graphics and color palette, reminds me a bit of the
colors that I used on my game, in a good way :) Fun concept
and music, I'm not an avid golfer so it was a little difficult to get into but overall good job!

FACED by Sheepolution 2014-08-25T15:28:00

Really cool idea behind the design, an addictive
little puzzle game. Like Ivano said this could be really
awesome on a 3ds

Pulley Planet by Patacorow 2014-09-12T10:34:00

Very well put together, going back and forth to pulley is
a little tedious but I enjoyed playing!

Colonization by Ellian 2014-08-25T22:05:00

I'm really bad in this kind of games but
it was fun to play nonetheless! I always thought
about how complex it might be to create these kind
of games so seeing one done in 48 hours is astonishing.
Awesome work!

DrOpLeTs by nicso 2014-08-25T13:12:00

I played the web version with the gamepad and it was very fun! Nice use of the theme and a simple but well executed mechanic.
Good job

Star-crossed lovers by creative630 2014-08-26T06:54:00

Interesting, funny and creative.
I also like how the planets are designed, great job!
You had me with baby planets

Switch by hungyg 2014-09-05T10:58:00

Nice puzzles and main mechanic, though I had some
trouble with the readability of the overlapping
dimensions at first. I think that I got the hang of it
by the end of the game. Nicely done, relaxing and fun.

Ex-Fraktion by Robotic 2014-09-02T09:25:00

Amazing entry! Great art and audio, awesome concept,
extremely original and inspiring.
Well done all of you, probably my favorite entry so far.
