I never knew what really happens during a paradox... o_o
Paradoxes are when a future you effects a past you. In the game it happens when ever you touch yourself. Sorry it was a little confusing.
Really nice idea. And the second level sealed the deal. I want to see some more of this!
Funny!
The concept is really awesome, I'd consider shortening the paradox death screen though since it increases the time the player must wait between attempts.
Coming this summer...
Nyan Cat, Matt Damon.... PARADOX.
Pretty stylish ^^
An interesting idea, but the graphics on screen were really annoying.
Gareth that is a good idea I'll change it so it's slow the first time and it just gets faster and faster that way you will see it but it won't hang around as long
From your comment: When you created a second version of yourself, before you died, a bunch of art appeared on the screen (fish, broccoli?) and finally the guys face. It was annoying every time I died and I really wanted to get back in the game right away. I like the idea, but I think that part should have been left out.
I tried it a few times because at first I thought some bug was making it unplayable. (At some point when I time traveled, my block didn't reappear.) But I eventually realized I could push the blocks, so long as my next self didn't touch the previous self at all.
Vile Smile the random art is a paradox that is created when you touch yourself I admit that it should have been clarified but I spent so much time trying to get the time travel mechanic to work i didn't have enough time to create 5 inrto levels
CrossBread I had to read your comment a couple times because I didn't know what you ment by nix
Arg phone. Nix should be block. Now I understand what you are taking about and again if I had made an intro level things would be much more clear.
I really liked the idea but a lot of the time I'd spawn in the border of the level?
Hah!
So you took pictures, too!
I went outside at least, that was quite adventurous, if you ask me... You only went to the internet! :) Are you sure you own the rights to those pictures? :P
Only kidding!! So I like your game, still I wonder why loading it takes so long. And no, I did not get a single thing that was going on there...
nice idea, strange and unique
Gahh.. grawhh..aghh..
I gave this several goes and got to the second level once, but at some point for a bit frustrated and gave up. Death felt a bit too random.
You did a great job on the time travel mechanic, and the paradox images cracked me up. With a weekend or two more of love, I think you can make a solid game out of this. :)
(also, the music was awesome)
The music is pretty great! The graphic is simple, but works. It's a pity you ran out of time - I would've liked to see where you'd take the concept! :)
Some things that could be clearer:
- You should not touch your past self. At all. Some paradox visualisation could've spawned from where I touched the past self to make that clear.
- The boxes at the beginning are sort of glued together. I thought I should make a stack and thought it was a bug that the boxes didn't start to fall.
