LD24 — Evolution

Guppies by Lord_Fluffy 2012-08-28T02:39:00

Ok, so it took a long time to figure out. But, you may as well just close your eyes. You can listen for the disturbance of the bugs in your headphones and orient the fish in that direction. I just ate 3 bugs with my eyes closed doing this. Impressive, but understandably easy to miss.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Minecraft Creeper Revolt by CrossBread 2013-08-27T08:29:00

Thanks! The touch to control was inspired by the connections theme. The 10-sec theme reminded me of XCOM gameplay, so we tried to combine the two with a little gaming pop-culture. I love blending games as well, so I was interested to see how a Minecraft themed sidescroller might fare.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I noticed that the "foot steps" sound effect was a little more attention grabbing than intended. I've turned it down, but not in time for the submission. :-( It might be better to just remove altogether.

That was my first attempt at pixel art/animation so, I'm glad you liked it!

Minecraft Creeper Revolt by CrossBread 2013-08-29T10:33:00

I''m glad it gave you a good challenge! I ran out of time to add a more gratifying ending. :-/ This was also my first attempt at level design, but it all surprisingly worked well with minimal changes. I wanted to add a score based on how many creepers were left alive when you reach the phone.

Minecraft Creeper Revolt by CrossBread 2013-09-07T08:43:00

@klianc09 Yes, sadly I could not finish the ending in time for the deadline. The fact that the awakened creepers can blow up the phone was an oversight. What I intend for them to do is lose their will to fight on once they get too close leaving only the hero to save the day. His last words will be "Better to die for freedom than live in ssSSSssslavery!"

I'm also adding the ability for speech bubbles to pop up for characters to add a little more flavor to the game.

The 91st Parallel by BMacIntosh 2013-09-07T09:06:00

Great entry! I would love it even more if the zombies would fall to their demise after I push them over the edge with the shield.

Time Trapped by killerstarbunny 2013-08-29T07:32:00

I tried it a few times because at first I thought some bug was making it unplayable. (At some point when I time traveled, my block didn't reappear.) But I eventually realized I could push the blocks, so long as my next self didn't touch the previous self at all.

TenSecWep by DesignerNap 2013-08-27T08:55:00

I liked your art work. It would be nice if the bounding box on objects laying around the room allowed you to still walk behind the object instead of getting stuck and having to run around the bottom side.

Z-Z-ZEN by Badger 2013-08-27T09:04:00

Like the graphics, sound, and comedic timing. In 1 player mode, is was a little confusing to understand which player was receiving punishment or a point. Maybe using a special color in the monk model to distinguish between the player and NPC ,omk could help?

Z-Z-ZEN by Badger 2013-08-27T09:06:00

I think the goal is to find the hidden "hot spot" where the image you are moving becomes clear.

10 Seconds to die by 1WeekEndStudio 2013-08-31T11:55:00

I loved that you measured the "10 seconds" in distance. I did something similar in my game, Minecraft Creeper Revolt, only mine is a side-scroller. Great entry. CPU AI would make this quite fun!

Bombotron by Zammy 2013-08-31T08:59:00

I think 2 UI improvements would help. One, reveal the node/component on mouse over instead of requiring a click. The click feels cumbersome, but I like that you have to try and mentally keep track of the parts of the bomb circuit.

Two, increase the collision area on the wires. Maybe an icon in the middle, or just a 2-3 pixel transparent border. It's easy to start feeling like you're fighting the controls/mouse instead of playing an intriguing puzzle game.

Great graphics, look-and-feel, etc. Some music would help to set the mood more.

LABYRINTH10 by Nizan 2013-08-31T11:29:00

Fantastic concept, one of my favorite so far. I love how the player has to balance greed with difficulty. The multiplier was a nice touch to make it worth while to stay out longer. I noticed a lag sometimes when trying to end a level. Is it possibly that the "EXIT" text is not part of the same button that ends the level? Great work!

10 Seconds Hero by lucas_gaspar 2013-08-31T09:04:00

Liked the high score feature and how you drop straight back into the action to try again. Took a second to realize you can't shoot unless you're the hero.

TOO MANY BULLETS by mklee 2013-08-29T07:40:00

You can tell you put polish into the character. I was especially surprised when I was able to ninja my way between bullets using wall jumps! I like how the circles element not only effects the bullets, but the character too. Making them choose between safety, or getting to the next 10 sec mark faster is a great game dynamic. Well done!

LD28 — You Only Get One

One Cigarette by Suese 2013-12-16T10:58:00

Good feel, decent graphics, dialog gave me a few chuckles. :-) My only issue was the speed of the hammer. It was easy to get knocked out of range while waiting for it to swing. The bullet loot pretty much made up for it though.
