Nice entry ! Fun to play, wel design. Congratulations !

icelus 2015-04-20 17:32

@ajopart

Thanks for playing! I really enjoyed making it, might turn it into a full-fledged game.

2015-04-22 08:08

It's Fun, like it, gona play little more but its fun, some glitchs but for a 48 hours contest it´s great

esayitch 2015-04-22 10:17

Awesome! Great weapon and well-designed puzzle levels :) Sound effects were good, graphics were decent, but the concept and the different transformations for different enemies make it a very solid entry :D

Only thing I would suggest slightly tweaking would be the movement, as it feels a bit floaty.

Good luck!

strong99 2015-04-22 11:46

Really nice game to play, well done :)

icelus 2015-04-22 11:48

@Ale2Tobias

Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! You are correct, there are numerous defects. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fix them all in time, and I figure I shouldn't upload a new version with them fixed. If I end up working on the game past LD, I will definitely fix them.

icelus 2015-04-22 11:52

@esayitch

Thank you for the detailed feedback, I appreciate it!

I honestly had a lot of fun with this concept. Some gamejams, it's fun for a bit, but then kind of a grind. Making this game was really fun for some reason. I don't know, just the idea of turning enemies into silly objects a la Scarlet Witch or Dr. Strange seemed hilarious to me.

I agree with you, the movement could definitely use work, I admittedly didn't spend much time adjusting the player's numbers. I will work on that going forward, added it to my to-do list.

thescopelessone 2015-04-22 12:39

The flashing of the enemy when they are frozxen is a bit missleading. It looks like they will dissapear when they flash like that.

icelus 2015-04-22 13:20

@Scopeless

Thanks for checking the game out!

100% with you on that one. I initially wanted a clear visual indicator to say "hey, something is about to change here", but flashing from visible to invisible indicates they will disappear or die, so it was a poor choice. I just didn't have time to improve it.

I will test other options, such as flashing to white and back again, and see if I can come up with something that more clearly communicates what will happen to the enemy.

I just added this to my to-do list, great feedback!

Really nice, your characters are very cute :)

suppi 2015-04-22 17:45

it is very good and the puzzles are great, but the controls still needs some tuning.
good job!

straybyte 2015-04-22 17:52

Well designed, intuitive, fun, all the great things. Good job.

icelus 2015-04-22 19:56

@01101101

Thank you! That means a lot because I made all the art on my own, and I generally am pretty bad at art, haha.

I've been toying with an art style, maybe making everything completely silly and have the monsters look like plushies or something could be fun.

icelus 2015-04-22 19:58

@suppi Agreed. @esayitch also echoed your sentiments, I will work on making the controls tighter.

Thank you for playing!

icelus 2015-04-22 19:58

@StrayByte

Oh thank you, I'm really happy you enjoyed it! It was a ton of fun to make, I want to keep working on it.

peterkirk 2015-04-23 12:36

This was very enjoyable. I liked the idea of turning dangerous creature that hurt the player into useful things that can be used to progress forward.

icelus 2015-04-23 14:06

@peterkirk

Glad you had fun! I liked the idea too, and enjoyed working on it. The contrast of a monster and them turning into a friendly object to help the player really stuck in my head throughout the weekend.

zatyka 2015-04-24 01:40

Fun game that could be awesome if polished and expanded.

icelus 2015-04-24 12:59

@zatyka

Thanks so much! I'm still pretty burned out from last weekend, but I want to try and work on it more in the next couple days.

The feedback, constructive criticism, and words of encouragement from everyone is really motivating to develop the game more.

johngalt 2015-04-24 17:02

Very neat idea. Presentation is really good. Love it.

jthistle 2015-04-24 17:05

Really nice little game with a great concept. Only thing I'd note is that the audio keeps on repeating (for me) which can get a bit annoying, I assume it's a bug, but anyway, great job!

druid 2015-04-24 17:06

Pretty good entry! Neat level design!

spin-down 2015-04-24 17:06

I liked how you could use the Transmogrify-3000 to turn enemies into something to help you move forward, very clever. I can tell you put alot of work into this. Good job!

icelus 2015-04-24 17:17

@JohnGalt

Oh thank you! I would be lying if I said I spent much time on the art, but I had fun making the art that I did. I want to add some more detail, and animations to the player and enemies.

icelus 2015-04-24 17:19

@jthistle

Thank you! Yeah I didn't spend much time on the audio unfortunately. The laser sound effect is a bit too long as well. I wanted to have music, I think that would have helped by making the sound effects appear a bit too repetitive, but alas, no time. I will work on the sound for sure, though.

icelus 2015-04-24 17:21

@Druid

Thanks for taking the time to play the game!

icelus 2015-04-24 17:22

@spin-down

Aw, thank you very much! I did work hard over the weekend on it, I thought I had a fun concept and just ran with it.

ultraval 2015-04-24 19:52

Fantastic entry.

icelus 2015-04-24 20:14

@reiknight

Appreciate the love!

danidre14 2015-04-25 00:45

The game is not actually boring, as people say. It's really basic, and what I like about it is how it include other enemies sooner on. What you lack, is motivation to make the players reach to those levels, without just rating it as crap. I like the game as it is, although I feel cheated in a certain level. But it is good. Thank you for participating. :D

icelus 2015-04-25 02:55

@danidre14

Yeah, I definitely need to work on smoothing out the difficulty curve. I'll be adding more levels, enemies, and puzzle mechanics so hopefully I'll be able to even it out.

Thanks for the feedback!
