PukeMan by Will Edwards 2015-04-24T14:11:00
I was never a big fan of the original PacMan, and now I know it's because of its distinct lack of booze. Good job!

I was never a big fan of the original PacMan, and now I know it's because of its distinct lack of booze. Good job!
It has great graphics and the controls felt nice and responsive. As mentioned though, the level design could be better. At one point I entered a door and before I could recognise where I was on the screen I had been attacked and exploded. Besides this however, it has the makings of a good game.
As mentioned, it lagged for me but only during the screen scrolling. It's a shame because from what I played I enjoyed. Liked the concept and glad to hear your working on a post jam version!
I liked how you could use the Transmogrify-3000 to turn enemies into something to help you move forward, very clever. I can tell you put alot of work into this. Good job!
I can tell you put a lot of work into this and it shows! Great gameplay and mechanic with the magnet/laser gun was a brilliant idea. It lagged a little for me in places but was still playable. The level layouts were also well done.
Nice mechanics and I'm a sucker for anything that involves managing your own mini-army (even if they are demonic squirrels!) Some of the areas were much too enclosed and I wasn't a fan of the bottlenecking but apart from that I had fun with this.
Boozy moles are the worst, but your game was pretty nifty. The main character was nicely drawn and the toxic sprayer was a nice touch.
I had alot of fun playing this and the graphics were very good. The controls were abit difficult but I liked the way the planes flew in the air.
The last stage had me going for awhile though. So much so that I got desperate and stuck a small sticker on the screen as to where the mouse needed to be to hit that top button. Not my finest moment but hey, it did the job!
Loved your art work for this. The look on the guys face was priceless and the audio fitted the mood of the game perfectly.
Looks great, good concept and the music was nice. Once you figure out what you need to do and how the game plays it makes sense. However, it was very slow, and this made it not as fun as it could otherwise be.
Very well made and enjoyable to play through! The art style was very nice and the funny, blood scrawled messages alone could keep you playing till the end.
Great graphics and I liked the use of colours. As mentioned, blind jumps are not good and it could have done with a few checkpoints as its pretty tough.
This was a neat puzzle platformer. The graphics were top notch and the Attractor device was a nice concept.
Making a pig rage with a needle and thread was on my bucket list so thanks for that guys. The games were fun and very humorful. Good job!
Fantastic graphics and a nice idea with the floppy powerups. I wasn't a fan of the blind jumping and it seemed alot of trial and error was needed to progress, but apart from this it was a good solid entry.
Good concept and the graphics were very nice too. Well done!
Fantastic graphics and sound! It was fiendishly difficult but it kept me playing. As soon as he let out his first green guff I was hooked! (that sounds wrong...)
Fun gameplay and nice work on the audio.
Liked this alot. It was well written and kept me playing to the end. In the end Sam had a fantastic day and I had a fantastic time playing!
I spent a good while playing this and enjoyed it immensely. I wouldn't even know where to begin to plan levels out for a game like this so you have admiration for that aspect alone!
What a wonderful game! You must have put alot of work into it. well done!
Neat game with a great variation of the theme. It was very satisfying when you got the shot just right. I also liked how overly-menacing the music was as the ducks quacked ominously overhead.
The graphics had a charm to them, even if they were place holders, and the music was good. The arching nut attack was also nice and I liked the way they bounced off to the foreground/background. I know you ran out of time but it would have really benefited from a simple lose/restart when your tree is cut down.
As mentioned, dying was a bit sudden and maybe could have done with a death(again?) animation for the spooky ghost. A few times I was left wondering for a few seconds, until I saw a life(un-life?) had been taken from the counter.
Apart from this, I quite liked the layout of the levels. They were nicely done and put me in mind of Rolo to the Rescue. Good stuff!
Wonderful idea, and loving the your pixel art too!
I liked this alot. It was nicely written and had some intresting choices that lead the story well.
I had alot of fun playing this. It was well made and I loved the narrative that followed the player, as well as the cute intro/ending. Good work!
Had a good laugh with this. With innovations like this you could easily have a long and messy career in weapons development. Nicely done!
I enjoyed the writing in this game, it was very well done. The artwork and the kooky imaginings for the monsters was also brilliant.
That's one satisfying attack Bearbeard has! You may not have made the audio but you still chose it and it adds to the game alot. Great fun!
Brilliant game. The graphics are fantastic and the overall gameplay has a real nice flow to it. At first I thought the controls were a little skittish but ended up appreciating them as the gameplay really needs a quick reaction. I also enjoyed the music and sound effects.
The checkpoints spaced out through the levels could be a little better, especially at the start, and the Cannon Vikings attack speed could have been a bit more forgiving but apart from this it's a very solid entry.
This was great fun, and the graphics were fantastic! You've definitely nailed the theme with this entry. I also liked as the audio as well.
I liked how quirky the game was, and the narration was a nice touch.
Loved it. From the challenging levels to the down-right joy inducing graphics, everything about this game was spot on for me. This is easily one of my favourite entries so far.
A solid puzzle game. Using teleportation was a neat mechanic and it makes you plan out a few moves in advance.
Great game. I had fun playing and the different animal attacks really added to the already excellent gameplay.
Dang it! Game breaking bug which only took me a few minutes to fix. I've re-uploaded it now and should work fine. thanks BadaJaga!
Thank you all for the comments.
@polkdev
I personally liked how the graphics style came out but, at the time, seeing the efforts others had put into their own art, I thought it would be a bit cheeky to add it. On reflection however you're right, so I've now added it to the vote categories.
I enjoyed playing this alot! The graphics and sound were great and the controls were nice and responsive. Good job guys!
I liked this even if it was fiendishly difficult (at least for me!) It was one thing to collect all the gems but to bring them back to the entrance stumped me a few good times. The level design was also excellent.
I'm not sure how it fits the theme of an unconventional weapon though, and the fact I can't vote on the theme kinda negates the whole point of the Ludum Dare.
Lovely graphics with an intresting story. Maybe could have done with fitting the theme into the first chapter somewhere, just so it was in there, but apart from that I enjoyed playing it.
Loved it. From the graphics to the whole concept, it was expertly done. The silence before the bomb eventually landing gave it a very sinister feel and as the orders became more and more insane I actually hesitated a few times as I thought carefully about my next move.
