very cute

shivvvy 2026-04-21 07:36

cuuuuute❤️

2026-04-21 07:40

I only managed to reach a score of around 1400 at most.

human-writes-code 2026-04-21 08:36

Very cool! This is a great, straight-forward concept that has been executed very well. The art and the music complement each other and it feels like a fully-realised game. Well done! Unfortunately, it turns out that I have no rizz... but I'm not that surprised.

universeflow 2026-04-21 08:46

@Shiyuue @Shivvvy @xiyuan thanks for playing! :)

@human-writes-code thanks for your kind feedback! glad you enjoyed it :)

in our team we also had wildly different high scores / skill levels, which was interesting to see!

out of curiousity, what was your high score?

2026-04-21 09:43

Really gorgeous artwork! I love how you tied the gameplay to different emotions—such a fun idea. It's funny because we also considered making a quick-reflex game for our project. Great work, loved it!

anku 2026-04-21 11:15

Third music game in a row — truly a musical game jam 😄 But seriously, I don’t even want to be too serious about this one: the funny sprites, the simple yet consistent UI, and the straightforward gameplay really pulled me in.

universeflow 2026-04-21 11:17

@anku I love musical games, so I don't mind ;) it's always great to see how different people incorporate music and sound into their games, as it's often a neglected aspect in jams!

universeflow 2026-04-21 11:18

@shanyu-jin thanks for the feedback! your game is great too with the rhythm based quick decisions :)

2026-04-21 11:22

Fun game! The art and sound are very cute too. Not sure why, but I found myself surprised I was suddenly having to press 3 keys simultaneously lol. It wasn't long until I lost after that, with the increasing speed. It was a nice touch to add a hard mode based on people's faces, you know you've done a good job when I can still match the emotions with no explicit icon. Really enjoyed it.

Great work overall! I can see the hardwork that went into it! :)

universeflow 2026-04-21 12:05

thanks for playing and the feedback @max-corke! Glad you enjoyed the hard mode, it was put in last minute shortly before the submission :D actually, this game mode was the original idea we had, but then we thought it would be too hard as the main game

hexela 2026-04-21 15:27

Had a similar idea but couldnt figure out how to make it fun. Very happy to see that some one made it, and figured how to make it interesting. Good job!

universeflow 2026-04-21 15:31

thanks for playing @hexela! glad you liked it :D it was not that easy to make it work, initially you had to read their faces to do it, but that was actually very hard, so we turned it into a hard mode that activates in the menu after you played the game at least once

kuviman 2026-04-21 15:31

dating is hard

rinnnzy 2026-04-21 15:58

I love the game's art style. The characters are so cute!

2026-04-21 16:16

Well done! Tough game to keep up with but fun.

universeflow 2026-04-21 16:21

@kuviman @grimslinger thanks for playing! yes, dating is not easy - neither in real life nor in game :D

@rinnnzy yes I agree, our artists did a great job <3

sebastianscaini 2026-04-21 16:48

This game has plenty of rizz!

dywanix 2026-04-21 17:07

such a cool artstyle and design!

universeflow 2026-04-21 17:09

@sebastianscaini so do you! ;) thanks for playing

@dywanix thank you, glad you enjoyed it :D

emaigualmc2-art 2026-04-21 17:37

Sin título.jpg Awesome, really good game and a lot of fun. It really made me nervous trying to press three keys at the same time without getting the colors mixed up. Great artwork and music xD

tkap1 2026-04-21 18:35

My old membrane keyboard can't handle pressing 3 arrow keys at once, it's unfortunate

aurel300 2026-04-21 18:51

I got 6931! Fun game, though it doesn't seem to get any more difficult after a certain point. As noticed by others ( (^: ) the arrow keys don't help with keyboards that don't support N-key rollover, but also I feel like it would just be more comfortable to have the 4 keys laid out in a row (say, D F J K to have two keys per hand), because the up/down chords were the most error-prone.

lenny-rudeberg 2026-04-21 20:09

Gotta love a fun memory/pattern game. I messed up a few times at first because I didn't realise you could push more than one key at a time, but I had a bit more fun once I got the hang of it. GG!

drainkid 2026-04-21 22:06

Got to over 5k before I couldnt keep up, only thing I'd say is the timing window for the multi-key presses are a bit strict, feel like I gotta hit them all at the exact same time :P

Really well done overall though!

sarah 2026-04-22 00:52

This is really fun! I was having a great time and then it suddenly got really difficult, but the screen effects as I lost all my rizz was nice. The sounds and music was really groovy, and definitely helped get into the rhythm of the game! I love the bartender too, very classy (:

So far one of the most polished entries I've seen! Great work everyone

2026-04-22 02:17

cool take on this kinda click time event, but when you do two people at once - their emotions can be skipped. I don't understand if I am doing something wrong or is it a bug?

universeflow 2026-04-22 06:00

@emaigualmc2-art thanks for playing! yes the throuples are quite a challenge :) nice score btw!

@tkap1 @aurel300 oh no, that's a good point, sorry it didn't work well on your keyboards! if we make a full release we would definitely add key rebinding and be more forgiving if you press them one after another instead of all at once

@lenny-rudeberg glad you enjoyed it :) what score did you manage to get?

@drainkid awesome! there is actually a bit of room to press them quickly one after another but maybe it's not forgiving enough, definitely something to tweak in a potential full release :)

@Sarah yes it's designed to be that way, when the throuples come in the music speeds up to 140 bpm (the max) and then the real challenge begins. glad you liked the music, the first day I was pretty much exclusively working on the music so I'm happy to hear someone appreciate it :D

@crimsontrouper you are supposed to press two keys at the same time to match both emotions, how did you manage to skip them?

lenny-rudeberg 2026-04-22 09:26

@universeflow on my first play though I got something like 290, but by my last play though it was closer to 4,600 🌞

draki 2026-04-22 09:39

I love the music and the atmosphere, it's super fresh, it makes you want to push the game to the limit, great job!

500 2026-04-22 09:42

Hahaha, at first I thought it was Galagame, but the sound effects were done very well!

2026-04-22 10:28

It's a good rhythm game, and it was nice to chat with all these people. But the difficulty quickly picked up, and I didn't even have time to get used to it. I guess I'm not experienced with these kinds of games.

2026-04-22 10:28

@universeflow well... not exactly "skip", so there was a thing when I did two emotions and other appeared, but then instantly changed to other emotions and those emotions stayed like regular

universeflow 2026-04-22 10:37

@lenny-rudeberg nice! 4600 is a good score :)

@draki thank you, glad you enjoyed the music and atmosphere, we put a lot of work into making it feel coherent!

@500 thank you, the sound effects are actually synced with the music, so they never sound out of place (it's a little detail that is usually hard to notice). what is "Galagame"?

@alexey-bobrovskiy thanks for playing! yes the difficulty is supposed to pick up quickly to get you to replay it and push for a higher score, it is definitely possible to get much higher scores though as you practice more, some of our team were able to beat The Rizzler ;)

@crimsontrouper ah, I believe there is a bug where when people switch out they still get new emotions, which doesn't really make sense. so when you complete a person, it still gets an emotion but then leaves immediately and the next one comes in with a new emotion. is this what you mean?

2026-04-22 10:42

@universeflow yeah, something like that

purrseus 2026-04-22 11:46

6450 on my third try! Tried two more times, but can't beat myself here :D

Super cute game, the art is adorable and dynamic music is always a pleasure 😊

universeflow 2026-04-22 11:50

@purrseus thanks for the kind feedback! 6450 is a really good score! if you wanna push it further, try hitting the emotions on beat (when they are big) ;)

2026-04-22 11:57

I barely made it through, only to realize there’s a hard mode too? My clumsy hands are doomed.😭

2026-04-22 12:01

Way more fun than I expected, and super easy to pick up! The art style feels a little simple, but that definitely didn’t stop me from mashing the keyboard like crazy haha😂.

universeflow 2026-04-22 12:08

@phanes @hazel-c thanks for playing! yes, after playing once you can find a hard mode in the menu :) we were going for a simple art style to make it feel like a retro arcade game

purrseus 2026-04-22 12:13

6565 - apparently already used the beat as much as I was able  1593 in hard mode :sunglasses:

I actually enjoy hard mode by the way. I am very glad you included it because it actually gives a reason to look at your cute dates while in a flow state

universeflow 2026-04-22 12:54

@purrseus I think that might be the highest score I've seen in hard mode yet - congrats! glad you're enjoying it, hard mode was the original vision of the game, but we felt it would be too hard for most players. we ended up including it last minute when we were done with the rest of the game :D

herzogvonwiesel 2026-04-22 14:03

I hit 10k on my second try! Really nice idea with implementing the hard mode, and overall super cool and fun!

bananplyte 2026-04-22 14:34

7161!

Great little game!

universeflow 2026-04-22 14:46

@herzogvonwiesel @bananplyte these are some amazing scores, great work! thanks for playing and your feedback :D

2026-04-22 15:20

a little hard, and when you need to press up and down together become even harder, maybe better at phone

stormsword 2026-04-22 16:46

Hard mode is a funny addition , my brain was melting. Love the arts, good job :D

a333 2026-04-22 17:18

Yay a polyamory dating simulator! Got 4671 as my personal best! Gotta say i'm really bad at rhythm, colors and directions, but it was really fun to play!

pimeko 2026-04-22 22:46

Haha nice twist on the Guitar Hero mechanic, with a clever storytelling! Unfortunately I have absolutely no memory and I have to read the colors at the bottom each time, but hey still got 2048 haha Liked the visual and musical mood :)

kintsugi 2026-04-23 00:31

really loved hard mode! GJ!

2026-04-23 02:13

Really fun concept, and great execution! Things get intense FAST lol. Current PB is close to 6k, but I do plan to try and beat that

dvan1337 2026-04-23 07:15

Absolutely splendid! Sent 5* in all categories!

universeflow 2026-04-23 07:44

@tinali4399 yes, there's definitely a learning curve to matching the emotions and pressing keys together. mobile could be interesting with a touch screen, would kinda turn it into a dance game but with your fingers! thanks for the suggestion!

@stormsword @kintsugi glad you enjoyed the hard mode, it's definitely harder when you actually have to read the emotions in their face :D

@a333 nice score, you're not bad at all! and yes, hehe, that was part of the fun of the game ;)

@pimeko it takes a bit to get used to matching the colors/emotions to the keys, but once you get the hang of it you can get really high scores, it has a bit of a learning curve. glad you enjoyed the storytelling/atmosphere, we put a lot of work into that :)

@guimao yes, when the throuple comes in the music increases to 140 bpm (the max speed of the game) and then everything gets intense haha. 6k is a really good score!

@dvan1337 thank you so much, that means a lot to us <3

tanjou 2026-04-23 10:43

Pretty cool game, reminds me of old flash games from my country (I'm Brazilian :D)

2026-04-23 19:15

Really fun, loved the idea and the faces of the characters (pretty cool hard mode!)

bumble 2026-04-23 19:16

I really liked the inclusion of the hard mode. Parsing the expressions fast and then reacting in rhythm was not easy! Overall I really liked this submission. (But I also love rhythm games anyways!)

havearollonthefloor 2026-04-23 22:19

1.png Cool arcade game. It was fun to press 3 buttons at once + the game speeds up quickly, the graphics are nice, like :D

ghostmaple 2026-04-24 00:07

Nice work! Couples totally break my brain, and hard mode was a pleasant surprise. Highs were 5359/1660.

kanhao 2026-04-24 05:35

What a flawless piece of work! Creating dynamic music in such a short time is incredibly challenging. With sleek visuals and a polished, streamlined gameplay loop, this is truly an outstanding creation.

papaver 2026-04-24 12:16

Ha, fun idea! It was a bit awkward to press both up and down at the same time. On my first try I got 6729, but after a few tries, using both hands, I got to:

mixedsignals.png

Hard mode was also fun! I got to 4092. Some faces were definitely easier to read than others, haha.

It was fun how the music went faster and faster, but I didn't really find a rhythm aspect other than that.

Fun graphics, cool that you made so many different faces possible  Music is nice too.

Overall, well done!

universeflow 2026-04-24 16:15

@tanjou this is a great compliment for us, we all loved playing these little flash games back in the day with whacky graphics and funny concepts, definitely the vibe we were going for :)

@hiretsu @bumble glad you enjoyed it, hard mode is the original vision of the game, so I'm glad you like it too :D thanks for playing!

@havearollonthefloor that's a great score, thanks for playing!

@ghostmaple the couples are still fine, the throuples are the real challenge :D nice score, thanks for playing!

@kanhao thank you, glad you enjoyed the dynamic music, I put a lot of effort into making it all sound good and coherent (to the point where it's mixed in so well you probably don't even notice it's dynamic unless you're trying to listen for it, but it definitely changes the vibe of the game, e.g. when you're almost losing and the heartbeat comes in)

@papaver you might be one of the best players outside our team, a 14k score is really good! my personal best is 17173 but one of us even managed to beat the rizzler with ~26k score. if you want to push your score higher, the rhythm aspect is that the emotions get bigger and smaller, when they are big and you press them, you are on beat and get extra points ;)

half-animal-half-beast 2026-04-25 00:57

great that everything is clear right away and you can jump straight into the game.

there were moments where i pressed the correct three keys, but it still counted as a mistake, probably because hitting them at exactly the same time is really hard and even a slight delay gets penalized. or maybe i just wasn’t accurate enough 😄

my high score was around 6k

2026-04-25 02:46

I love seeing different ideas of the same concept; I would never thought of this kind of signals, a funny concept and a great art, simple and catchy, nice job!

universeflow 2026-04-25 06:03

@half-animal-half-beast thanks for playing - 6k is a nice score! there is actually a small time window where you can press them one after another, it doesn't need to be perfect, but it might make sense to make it just slightly larger :) another tip is to use one finger per key instead of trying to, for example, press both up and down together with a single finger

@hhch thanks for the kind feedback, glad you enjoyed our interpretation of signals :)

irkar 2026-04-25 17:02

I love character design and cool idea but don`t understand how to press three buttons in one time) Good job!Screenshot_20260425_200012.png

unfavorable-enhancer 2026-04-25 20:50

I really like how easy this game is to learn and vibe of this game is pretty fun. Also liked how music depicts tension, it makes gameplay very immersive and fun.

pipetto 2026-04-26 07:12

It turned out well - I really felt how slow I am haha

panduplan 2026-04-26 15:16

Great visuals and animations, really impressive. Rhythm component appeared bit vague to me, is it important to just quickly press on right buttons or do in in rhythm? And maybe ASDF buttons or other horizontal key set would be easier to use than arrows. Otherwise atmospheric and somehow cheeky game :)

couldn't score as much as other rizz gods in comments though

score.jpg

mrtroy 2026-04-26 16:24

Took a bit for me to get the gist of what I was suppose to do. This was a very fun and cute entry. I didn't like how I was getting 3 keys at the same time and failing. I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do in those instances. Other than that, that was fun. I hope you continue on with this!

lllarso 2026-04-27 15:13

That was fun! :) A second song would be nice, but I like that you got some variation in the song over the time if you keep playing. The graphics are nicely done and the introduction screen with the gameplay overview makes you understand the gameplay quickly. I like that it gets more difficult over time by adding more characters. Very cool that you added a "hard mode".

The finger on the smartphone, which shows you when you loose, could be more visible in my opinion.

Apart from that I think this is a very polished game with a fun game loop and a nice take on rythm games. Nice interpretation of the theme. :)

speed date.jpg

aniretti 2026-04-28 21:41

great graphics and a great take on the theme! the game is makes you feel stressed a bit, especially when the tempo of the music increases and there are two or more people. great character designs! i wish i could take a closer look who im flirting with, but the game is very fast, so i can't xd the controls, in my opinion, are a bit awkward. when you have to press three keys, it gets very hard. maybe it would be better if it wasn't the arrow keys, in my opinion anyways, great polished submission! photo_2026-04-28_23-31-20.jpg

universeflow 2026-04-29 14:30

@irkar you can use 3 fingers :) but you might have a keyboard that doesn't support pressing all three at once, we've had this reported before, and we'll definitely look into adding support for wasd and other keys in a potential full release

@unfavorable-enhancer thanks! we tried hard to make the music fit the vibe of the game with the tension increasing over time!

@pipetto yeah the pace picks up quite quickly haha - thanks for playing!

@panduplan thanks for the feedback! the emotion animation is synced to the beat, so when they are biggest you are perfectly on beat ;) using a horizontal row has been suggested before and it's definitely something we'll look into in a potential full release :)

@mrtroy pressing the three keys at once is supposed to be hard, but maybe the horizontal row mapping would make it easier for some players, thanks for playing!

@lllarso the song adjusts to where you are on the rizz bar, if you are around the center, it plays the normal theme, if they like you, it adds an upbeat lead synth sound, and when they dislike you (you are close to losing), it switches to a theme where the baseline gets replaced with an actual heart beat sound! we added all this variety to keep the music interesting even during longer playthroughs. thanks for the feedback, the rizz bar actually also lights up the field you're currently at, but we'll definitely look into making the finger more visible too! btw, I only listen to the music to know where I am on the bar, you don't need to look at it if you don't want to look away from the main game ;)

@dywanix thanks for playing, the stress is intentional, it's a fast-paced arcade game :) but we did make the first few characters a bit slower to ease players into the fast pace. the suggestion to use different key mappings has been made multiple times before and it's definitely something we'd add in a potential full release :)

gkthegkpchannel 2026-04-29 21:09

reminds me of my college days and mixed signals was my nickname in high school 10/10

hexstart 2026-04-30 23:25

That was fun! I gotta be honest, I barely paid attention to the characters, I was too focused on the icons. The game works well and it feels good to lock in and hit multiple emotions one after the other. I enjoyed the speed-dating nature of it.

ms.png

ausstein 2026-05-03 09:59

Screenshot 2026-05-03 115822.png

Quite Nice, would have liked if I could use wasd as well :)

pickens-inc 2026-05-04 18:40

A novel and compelling concept! The art is great and the little character designs are very funny. Love the audio implementation here - I was hoping for some rhythm related gameplay from the description but I still appreciated the way the music dynamically shifted and evolved as the difficulty rose. It was just missing some chunkier sound effects on the beat for when you were succeeding. The addition of the hard more was a nice easy win for you and definitely hard. IF i had one bit of constructive feedback, it would be to maybe re-evaluate the controls, or to remove the possibility of getting happy and sad at the same time - it's very uncomfortable and inaccessible to have to quickly press up and down at the same time, in a way that isn't the same for left and right. But a compelling little game with lovely presentation.

ao-85 2026-05-04 21:16

I love the music and the atmosphere, it’s super fresh, it makes you want to push the game to the limit, great job!

cameronpenner 2026-05-06 03:57

I love the character art! I only wish I could have admired all the expressions on their faces more, I was too busy trying to match the emoji to really appreciate all the characters faces. Well done!

auxc 2026-05-06 04:58

+1 to everyone praising the art! Gameplay is simple fun, but boy my brain is way too slow for the combos :D

universeflow 2026-05-06 09:42

@gkthegkpchannel glad it brought you some nostalgia, definitely what we were going for with the vibe :)

@hexstart try hard mode and you will have to pay attention to the characters ;) nice score btw!

@ausstein thanks for playing, that's a neat score! yes, wasd would definitely be a nice addition, thanks for suggesting!

@pickens-inc thanks for the extensive review! glad you enjoyed it :) I initially had a sound effect for success but playing it so often ended up being quite annoying, in the end I didn't have time to come up with a shorter/quicker sound effect that fit better with the music. :( it does have rhythm mechanics (although it's not required to use them, it's required to get higher scores): the emotions get bigger and smaller, when they are biggest, it's exactly on beat. if you press them on beat you get a higher score. as for the controls, I think with wasd controls up and down at the same time would be a lot better on some keyboards.

@ao-85 thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it :)

@cameronpenner try hard mode and you will have to pay attention to their faces ;) it's the more realistic way to play the game haha

@auxc thanks for playing! it takes some getting used to, if you practice more, you start building muscle memory for the combos - with a little bit of practice and trying to press on beat you can even get to 20k+ score ;)
