LD59 — Signal

Reclamation by JustinMullin 2026-04-21T16:43:39Z

Interesting ideas, but I had trouble getting into the game. The systems feel complex and there’s a lot of text upfront, which made it hard to quickly understand what to do (especially in a jam setting).

I tried interacting with the flags, but without a clear goal I felt a bit lost. A short tutorial or simple objective could help a lot.

That said, it feels like there’s something deeper here, and I liked the binoculars and the view!

The Last Frequency by strong99 2026-04-24T01:31:29Z

that first image instantly won me over.

the intense music also works really well for the atmosphere

Pyre Lookout by outstar 2026-04-24T22:38:09Z

very well made game, it feels solid overall.

i’ll admit at some point i just started clicking through everything without really reading or choosing carefully, and still managed to save everyone from the fire. now i’m curious, are there different endings if you make more deliberate choices?

it has a strong mood to it, for sure.

A Short Flight by Rongo Matane 2026-04-24T22:12:51Z

i’ll admit i’m usually not a big fan of third-person flying controls, but in your game, controlling the plane with the mouse felt really smooth and intuitive, probably the first time in my life i actually enjoyed it. acceleration and braking still felt a bit off to me though.

i ended up skipping most of the dialogue. i think the game might benefit from letting the gameplay and visuals carry more of the experience.

the visuals are really cool, makes me want to try something in a similar style! overall, a very cool and impressive game!

Meina's Train Cruise by Oradimi 2026-04-25T01:06:18Z

i felt really bad for the character every time i tipped her little train over šŸ˜„

it’s impressive how such a simple idea can be this engaging. nice work!

No Signal by detectiveLosos 2026-04-24T15:11:56Z

that visual effect immediately caught my attention from the screenshots, really cool.

gameplay-wise, i played for about 5–7 minutes and it always ended with a jumpscare. i didn’t manage to get any other outcome. is there actually a different ending, or is the player kind of doomed from the start? šŸ˜„

at one point i reached a ā€œwallā€ and thought i had unlocked a new area, but it seemed to just be the edge of the map, and soon after i got the jumpscare again. after that i stopped playing.

overall though, it’s definitely playable and strong on atmosphere. very blair witch style, and i like that kind of found footage aesthetic, so it was cool to see it in a jam game. aside from the lack of a ā€œgoodā€ ending (if there isn’t one), i enjoyed it!

Jim's Quest for Birthday present by Sobigdrasil 2026-04-25T00:20:57Z

well well well… a kid working nonstop just to afford an overpriced gift, and a small business (grandpa) trading goods for basically trash to survive in a coastal town… capitalism satire?? ok ok, i’m joking šŸ˜„

really nice visuals and music, you clearly aimed for a cute and cozy vibe and it works perfectly!

i liked how it’s immediately clear what to do, there’s a simple goal and a clean loop that supports it. it gets a bit repetitive, but with such charming visuals it’s not a big issue.

one small thing, the character feels a bit slow to move, almost heavier than expected.

overall, really great!

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-25T00:06:54Z

as others mentioned, it loads quite slowly in firefox (both here and on itch). i initially thought it wasn’t working at all, but judging by the number of comments, it seems to work fine for most players. so i switched to chrome, where it ran fine.

beautiful style and an interesting mix of 2d and 3d.

there’s quite a bit of text, and the animation makes it a bit harder to read. everything else is really cool!

Alien Delivery Service by Minus 2026-04-21T18:31:08Z

i didn’t fully understand what was going on, but it felt like the game was aiming to do quite a lot.

i liked the abandoned atmosphere, and in a way the lack of clarity even fits that mood. still, for a smoother experience, a bit of guidance or a simple tutorial would probably help a lot.

Crawler Of Doom by nightchild 2026-04-21T16:58:32Z

i waited a few minutes for the game to start, but nothing seemed to happen. i also tried pressing r, but didn’t get any response (no sound or visual).

unfortunately, i wasn’t able to actually play the game. from the screenshots it looks interesting though, so it’s a bit of a shame i couldn’t experience it

Traffic Control Publican by Istaera 2026-04-21T17:09:59Z

nice game! it reminded me of one of the gta v missions where you control traffic lights from a top-down view. here it feels more relaxed though, and the music adds a fun vibe. well done!

Elder signals by Hexela 2026-04-21T18:17:00Z

the roach didn’t like my sacrifice, exploded me, and the game closed itself šŸ˜„

love the low poly ps1-style visuals, they look really cool and atmospheric!

Float like a butterfly, sting like a beeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Cableman [a rhythm game] by rucksack 2026-04-24T15:00:00Z

really cool game, i enjoyed it a lot. nothing to complain about in terms of gameplay, style, or overall fun. great job!

i noticed that when i start losing the rhythm, it actually helps to make a little ā€œclickā€ sound with my tongue to stay on beat šŸ˜„

i’m not super knowledgeable about music theory, but it felt like movement is locked to full beats (1-2-3-4). it could be interesting to allow half-beat movement as well, maybe to make some sections feel faster or more flexible.

one more small note, not just about your game but in general: it’s nice to know how much content is ahead, especially in jam games. even a simple progress indicator or level count could make that clearer. but honestly, that’s more of a minor thought since i didn’t really find any major downsides in your amazing game.

really enjoyed it!

Mixed Signals by universeflow 2026-04-25T00:57:12Z

great that everything is clear right away and you can jump straight into the game.

there were moments where i pressed the correct three keys, but it still counted as a mistake, probably because hitting them at exactly the same time is really hard and even a slight delay gets penalized. or maybe i just wasn’t accurate enough šŸ˜„

my high score was around 6k

Reaper: Savior of Souls by Link270 2026-04-21T17:31:47Z

really strong visuals, they work great for the overall atmosphere. the game fits the theme well and feels nice to play.

the only thing that felt a bit off to me was the sprint on shift. there didn’t seem to be much reason to move slowly (maybe i missed something?), so it might feel better to just increase the default speed instead of holding shift all the time.

overall, great job! solid entry!

Reaper: Savior of Souls by Link270 2026-04-21T17:33:23Z

also really liked that effect on the background music, it added a nice ā€œotherworldlyā€ atmosphere!

DISCONNECTED by Allax 2026-04-21T17:46:19Z

i managed to find a signal after about 5–7 minutes and decode it. after that a window with a note image and beeping appeared, but i closed it.

to be honest, i lost motivation to keep figuring out what to do next or searching for more signals. maybe i missed something.

throughout the game, with this visual style, i kept expecting a jumpscare at some point, which could actually be pretty funny :)

the description on itch sounds promising, but i didn’t dive deeper, sorry!

Signals in Distress by TheKimeo 2026-04-21T17:21:05Z

nice interpretation of the theme! i like how the game uses color theory in the mechanics. it would be great to see that reflected more in the visual design as well, not just gameplay.

feels like it has strong potential, just needs some visual choices to fully bring the idea to life.

Searching for Signal by BalimaarTheBassFish 2026-04-21T18:05:45Z

to be honest, there’s a bit too much dialogue and text. i get that it’s important for this kind of game, but i really wanted an option to skip it all at once instead of clicking through line by line. show, not tell.

the gameplay feels nice though, and the visuals are charming!

Beyond The Ridge by evil23 2026-04-24T01:07:29Z

really nice atmosphere and visual direction. i’d love to see the idea expanded further, but even as a jam entry it has a strong vibe. nice work!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:03:17Z

@4farandbeyond Yeah, you caught a real bug there! The D key cooldown was broken. Fixed now, thanks for pointing it out.

Appreciate the note on substance too. We're pushing the mechanics further next time.

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:05:52Z

@derek-glennon Haha thanks, appreciate it! And no worries, This site has its own mysterious ways

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:09:23Z

@chusui77

Thank you, really glad you liked the animations and feel!

Yeah, there were issues with the HUD, partly because the game was running with two cameras at the same time. We fixed that, so it should display correctly now and not get stuck after fights (praying hands emoji)

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:35:52Z

@awr Thank you!! We really tried to make those abilities feel good to use, so I’m super happy it landed šŸ™

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:40:20Z

@lizelive Could you describe what you did and what went wrong? Was the animation not responsive, or did nothing happen at all? When the ball matches the receiver, pressing the corresponding key (ASDF depending on the lane) should trigger a hit on the ball. If you don’t press in time, you should hear a sound cue. Your feedback would help a lot, thanks!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:50:02Z

@stalemeat Thanks a lot for such a detailed comment, really appreciate it! Glad the rhythm idea clicked after a bit and that you noticed the Y2K vibe, we were really aiming for that, so it’s great to hear it came through.

About the S slash.. I’ve seen that issue on fullscreen Web version on Mac (works fine on my PC/ Chrome). When not in fullscreen it seems fine on PC and Mac. Gonna dig into it after a short break. Thanks again!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:51:35Z

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T15:56:53Z

@wakobu Thanks a lot! Yeah, there was an issue with the slash in fullscreen, but in browser window it seems fine. Did you play in fullscreen? Would really appreciate your feedback!

Hearing that you enjoyed it this much makes all the effort worth it! Thank you!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-23T09:08:34Z

@val-ociraptor

thank you so much! yeah, the title kind of hints that the whole game could be rhythm-based. at some point i even wanted to sync attacks with the music, like giving bonus damage for hitting on beat, but that idea didn’t make it in the end.

thanks again for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-23T09:28:57Z

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-23T09:30:42Z

@bobanko thank you for the feedback!

you need to use A S D F to catch the balls, each lane has its own key. there is now a small tutorial image in the game that explains this. Your comment made me realize it was really needed, thank you for that!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-23T09:33:44Z

@wraithind thank you for such a detailed comment!

i’ve fixed the issues you mentioned. the balance is still far from perfect, but it’s the best i could manage within the jam time. i already have some ideas on how to improve the balance further, just planning to take a short break first.

i’d really appreciate it if you could try the post-jam version on itch: nadiapixel.itch.io/agents-rhythm-and-raid

also curious, how did you end up outside the map? i’ve never seen that happen šŸ˜„

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T15:49:09Z

@bluntsam

thanks! i actually tried syncing the rhythm part with the music at first, but it felt too easy with clear audio/visual cues. then i experimented with speeding things up, which meant speeding up the music too, and that started to sound weird, so i dropped that idea.

maybe i’ll find a way to make it work in a way that feels good and not forced. thanks again!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T15:49:22Z

@mamboman

thank you for the feedback!

based on your comment, i added a hit sound effect :)

that’s unfortunate šŸ˜„ but at least the letter keys are there!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T15:51:30Z

@lllarso

thank you for such detailed feedback!

really happy you mentioned the dummies, we’re kind of proud of them haha :)

about the audio, S has both hit and miss sounds, and the laser has its own too. but when combined with enemy death sounds it turned into a bit of a mess, so i removed some of it. probably needs better separation in audio design, just didn’t have enough time to polish it properly.

really appreciate you pointing this out, it’s important!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T15:52:06Z

@turbolaser

thank you for the feedback!

yeah, the game was partly meant to feel a bit unforgiving, where you need skill and a bit of luck šŸ˜„

but your comment made me realize that an instant restart after death could’ve helped keep the flow instead of breaking it with a stats screen. definitely something to think about, thanks for that insight!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T21:13:33Z

@lastuck

thank you for the feedback!

dodging hits is actually part of the enemy behavior. as for the teleport, some enemies have a dash attack where they quickly move to the player and deal damage.

but maybe i misunderstood your comment and something unintended happened. would be great if you could clarify what you meant!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T21:22:33Z

@outstar thank you!

yeah, that little guy just really wanted the spotlight haha but you’re right, it’s a bug, he should’ve disappeared. thanks for catching it and for the screenshot!

about the dance sequence, there is a hint with arrows pointing to the other screen, but i totally agree it should be clearer right away, not only after reading everything. really helpful that you pointed this out!

and nice catch with jet set radio! i love the visual style, even though i’ve never actually played it — maybe it’s time to fix that!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T21:25:33Z

@braktheman thanks!

really glad the skip option was useful! some players mentioned the difficulty, so i wanted to make sure people could still see more of the game without getting stuck for too long šŸ˜„

appreciate you giving it a try and sticking with it!

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T21:29:26Z

@alaah thanks for taking the time to record and share this!

just a heads up, the video is based on the original jam version, and a lot of the issues there have already been fixed. it was honestly a bit painful to watch knowing that laser cooldown was at 0 and the F ability wasn’t working at all back then šŸ˜„

oops, wrong alien by aniretti 2026-04-24T23:10:58Z

there’s no link for "--No Signal--" game, which in a way is a pretty fitting interpretation of the theme (5 stars for that) :)

Bad Advisors by Yoav Kagan 2026-04-21T18:58:01Z

interesting game! nice visuals and simple but satisfying animations, though i’d love to see more detail overall.

the giant executioner hand is a great idea. even with the cute style it still feels unsettling and really reinforces that you’re sending people to their deaths.

the only thing that felt a bit frustrating was the pacing. there’s a delay after each action and the animations take some time, so you’re forced to wait. i kept wishing i could play at 2x or even 5x speed.

overall, really cool, well done!

Radio Silence by PaulMag 2026-04-21T18:43:18Z

first hint tells me to set the frequency to 832 hz, but i couldn’t figure out if there was a way to deduce that in-game, or if i was just supposed to follow the instruction directly.

was there a clue i missed? or was the idea to point at the white star and then find the frequency by trial and error? if so, that feels like a lot of guessing.

that said, i really liked the visuals, controls, and overall mood. also the telescope felt great — almost like using a sniper scope in a FPS game, really satisfying!

very beautiful, the colors are pleasant and create a nice mood.

the game opens in the bottom left corner, but works fine in fullscreen. when switching language, it wasn’t immediately clear how to return to the menu, and pressing esc just exited fullscreen (which… was still in the bottom left).

still, i managed to play and enjoyed it!

good luck!

Zap the Dead by Stepanoff 2026-04-24T16:03:30Z

super cool game and graphics, it really reminds me of cartoons from my childhood! i loved it!

i’d maybe add a sound cue when something blocks your path. it’s a really important part of the gameplay, but it took me a while to understand it, at first i thought it was a bug or unresponsive controls. a sound would make it clearer that it’s intentional.

otherwise, everything is great!

Occult Ace by IRKAR 2026-04-25T01:13:09Z

oh, nice! i only played a bit, and it’s quite challenging.

i liked the card idea, but it was a bit frustrating that the camera keeps moving while choosing a card. maybe it would feel better to lock the camera while the cursor is in the menu, or move it to arrow keys.

overall, feels like a potentially interesting game!

Signal of Memories | 忆波 by Seasea 2026-04-25T01:45:37Z

i might be wrong, but it felt like the game was trying quite hard to make me feel something. that’s not a bad thing, just came across a bit forced at times, maybe because the visuals feel a bit very polished or ā€œcommercialā€.

the gameplay is clear and easy to get into, but even with two tutorials i still managed to get confused with the controls sometimes haha

the easiest strategy for me was just jumping over bubbles and collecting coins. coins! after playing dozens of ld games, this is the first time i’ve seen them, and it actually works really well.

overall, good game, nice work!

the game felt a bit unresponsive at times, and it was sometimes unclear whether it was waiting for input or had frozen. it would be nice to have an option to speed up dialogues.

nice game with pleasant visuals that really sell the atmosphere. i really liked the mysterious magical forest.

isn’t it every kid’s dream to have their own golem you can control with a whistle?...

feels like this idea could grow into a really nice small game. one thing that felt a bit off to me is that whistling stops the character’s movement. it feels like those two actions could work simultaneously without hurting the gameplay.

overall, a strong entry and a cool game!
