I was delighted by the execution of the idea and it clicked instantly. The gamefeel of flying a bumblebee around was spot on, and the buzzing sounds had me cracking up. The flowers also look gorgeous against the open skies in the field. Very comfy, and I appreciated the clarity of the HUD info about how many bees were active and gathering. I'm a solid B+ Bee, apparently!

Also just a heads up that the Itch link doesn't work.

I love this game, it's very fun, and interacting with other bees makes me really happy!! But when I go outside, the FPS drops to only 15-25, which takes away a lot of the fun for me.

@nno1 Thank you for taking the time to play and giving us valuable feedback!
We're really sorry to hear there were issues with framerate, but we've uploaded a post jam version that allows for disabling dynamic lighting (the sun movement caused lighting recalculations and caused the CPU to wait).

The gameplay is very simple, but so addictive. It's an actual bee simulator here. This idea is not new, but it feels kinda extraordinary. Graphics are simple and very fitting. Level is designed to big a bit too massive. And that's why it feels a bit empty. Maybe adding particles in the air when you fly would better. Music and sfx are good and not annoying. It is so nice to have some settings although you made a game in 3 days.
P.S. I would call your game BEEvolution xd

This game was so cute! I loved the little bee faces! It took me a little while to figure out that I couldn't do anything at the flowers and had to go find another bee to dance with, but it was worth it!
I had quite an issue to figure out what to do because I didnt encounter the big right click prompt when near a bee at the hive becasue I immediately zoomed out to a flower and thought I had to rmb + input the inputs at the very flower not fly to the flower and then back to a bee.the small explanatory text on the side also did not help me here, a proper tutorial with the mechanics gradually introduced would have helped a lot here! Once I had figured it out it was really fun with the loop of scouting and then going back and assigning the bees to the flowers, I even had one flower be collected by two bees but I wasnt really sure what my purpose was/how the mechanics worked: Should I assign one bee per flower? Do Flowers have a capacity of energy to extract? What do I exactly get from me assigning the bees to the flowers?
I figured some of these out after a completed run but was really unsure during the run! But quite anice game and I like the face of the bee! bzzz! hehe!

@denikk Thank you for playing our game and leaving feedback! I wasn't aware there were other games like this and would love to see them if you could point me in the right direction. I definitely agree the level scale is too big for the current state of it. We had high hopes for adding more progression to it, but alas, game jam.

@anna-tateson Thank you for playing, despite the confusing instructions! We've since updated with a post jam version that tutorializes the instructions on the side of the screen and only begins the round after completing. Hopefully this will make it easier for future players.

@stealthorc So sorry that the instructions weren't clear enough. Really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave feedback! As stated in my post above, we've added a post jam version that tutorializes the instructions and only starts the round after completing them. We've also added some more UI elements to clarify that flowers do have different capacities and that multiple bees/trips will be needed.

I don't think my laptop can run this haha. Could be because I'm running it on Linux, but I was getting only a couple of frames on the main menu, and I couldn't start the game.
Edit: Sorry, was just being a bit dumb, but I got working, and it was so cute! I'd prefer if the bees moved a little bit faster so there was less time spent waiting for them to come back, but overall, great entry!

I enjoyed this game very very much. It was fun and concept is interesting. I agree with other commenters that minimizing the time spent on waiting would make it better, but it's a cool game nonetheless. Oh and I LOVE the title haha

There wasn't enough buzzing around going on. Everybody gets BEEEEEEES!
v0.1.3 patch notes: > We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear and bees now go fast. Really fast. Faster in all kinds of ways! Player sBeed +33%, NPBees sBeed +100%, gather speed +100%. Disabled the queues on flowers, because everybody loves more bees doing more bee things. Now with more bees!
I make a terrible bee.

I'm a bee in real life! Super cute game, I love the concept. You probably had it planned, but it would have BEEn awesome to see some progression and be able to hire different types of bees!

@braeden Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, we had wanted to do a shop of sorts for upgrades and bee types, but opted for just automatically unlocking more bees as you progress. 'Cause, you know, game jam

You look for flowers and signal your fellow bees, and they go out to gather nectar and bring it back. The controls feel smooth, the theme connection works really well, and the core idea is genuinely very good.

Great idea and execution! I had fun playing, the bee sounds were funny.

I got 100 pollen and 8 bees ! I liked the game, it's a cool idea and a cool twist on Signal. bees were cute, and them dancing along was very funny. I wanted to buy upgrades with the pollen or something haha
Okay, but why is the size 400 MB? I just can’t download it with my shitty internet 😅

Fun game! really enjoyed it, and honestly i can see it with potentials lol. Love the audio too bees are cute XD

I really enjoyed this charming bee simulator, with lovely visuals, nice buzzing sounds and adorable bee designs that bring a relaxing, fun experience. The creative concept fits the theme wonderfully, though a little more gentle guidance would help new players get started easier, and slight adjustments to the map layout and bee movement pace could make the flow feel smoother. Overall, it’s a delightful and well-crafted little game with plenty of cute charm, and small polish would make it even more wonderful.
This is a really cute game! The bee dances are adorable and I enjoyed exploring your little world. I really like the idea behind the gameplay too - learning dances and repeating them to bees is a fun, video game-y way to direct bees to flowers.
In practice I found it a bit tedious though. Even with your bee speed upgrade, the game is pretty slow, and there really isn't much gameplay other than flying out, memorising some button combos, and flying back. I guess there's room for skill in how many dances you can comfortably memorise, but it still wasn't super engaging. (By the way, could I have repeated flowers? I kind of assumed not.) I think some more complexity with how you manage your bees could help out. Maybe there are other tasks bees have to complete to keep up the hive, so you have to manage their time between those and pollinating flowers. Some more interest in the part where you fly way out to flowers could be nice too.
Overall, really nice work! I just love the idea of dancing bees. With some more layers of gameplay I think this could be a really fun tycoon-esque game.
I have never thought that implementing waggle dance into game would "bee" such a great thing XD

I also got a bit confused as to where to do the dance, but it makes perfect sense in retrospect! Great idea and execution - the music, bee models, dances, and sound effects were all adorable and meshed together well. The 'confused bee' noise made me cackle. Nice work!
This is really fun hahaha, was not expecting to play a bee version of DDR in this game jam but I'm happy I did! I wasn't 100% sure how the game was supposed to work at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was really fun gliding around, dancing, and collecting pollen. Great work you guys!
