Here are two photos to get started.

universeflow 2026-04-21 07:13

I tried finding the first one but how do I take the shot? I don't see any instructions on which key to use to verify the photo location

mc-shopot 2026-04-21 08:29

The graphics are absolutely out of this world. I love this kind of style! An unusual take on the theme — that's awesome! Thanks for the experience. For some reason, some of the pics won't load, but I'm pretty sure that's just me messing up.

mrturtle 2026-04-21 17:46

@universeflow It should automatically take the photo once you're close enough, though I feel like it may be too strict with it.

mrturtle 2026-04-21 18:04

@mc-shopot Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Though what do you mean the pictures won't load? Like as in when the game prompts you to download the photo or when you're lining up a shot?

vicebrother 2026-04-24 21:27

this is a really creative concept!

djtequila 2026-04-24 21:55

What a unique concept, the game continuing in the comments is so neat! I love the graphics, it feels like a cozy little town. Not sure if it was supposed to give me 3 photos or 2, but here they are

very creative game! I like the community-driven scavenger hunt concept. I think a minimap might be useful, not for finding things but just so I can tell where I've already been since I think I got stuck going in circles at one point.

here's my two images!:

Loved this game! very unusual. Small thing, the words on buildings are hard to read from afar, maybe some tweaking possible here. Had a lot of fun! thanks Try find mine! photo (1).png

tosmaster 2026-04-24 22:08

Neat little game! It was quite fun searching for your pictures! I gotta say, it's quite hart to align them, even with the grace area that you give where the indicators turn green. But I was happy to have found your cache and here is my own:

photo.png photo-aaaaaaaa.png

But now I am asking myself... how did you code your game so I can share images for others to find... Do you hide the player position and view angle in the image meta data?

kotovnav 2026-04-24 22:11

Very cute little game, thanks for the cheer up!

xavier-marshall 2026-04-24 22:26

As soon as I saw the game recognize I was in the right location for the photo, I was blown away by how smooth that felt. Did you embed coordinates into the image metadata or something? Taking new photos was a bit inconsistent with object detection, but not to a huge extent. I would've liked a few more hidden places to hide or access to take more obscure photos. But overall, I really like this meta/social approach to gameplay, yall did a great job!

mrturtle 2026-04-24 22:38

@tosmaster @xavier-marshall Steganography is how! We store information about where the player took the photo in the pixel data of the image itself. Each pixel in the image consists of 4 bytes or 32 bits, 8 bits for each color (plus alpha). So I can store my own data in the least significant bit of each color, it theoretically *slightly* reduces the brightest color the image can represent but you'd never notice practically. Then it just reads that information from the photo when somebody loads it in their game. Glad both of you enjoyed it!

This is absolutely MY kind of crunchy-smooth visuals! Good job! [photo.png](///raw/416/21/z/72ac1.png)

Cool game, unique idea and nice art style!

It's a fun concept, and it's very smart to use this type of concept in a community driven game jam such as the ludum dare, it's very effective.

Visuals are really great, and i think a bit of ambiance sound could bring even more life to the game, at least a SFX for taking a picture of finding the right spot.

Also the mouse sensitivity was reeeeally slow, it was a bit frustrating to turn around (maybe it is needed to match the picture spot with precision ?)

Anyway, great entry, well done !

Here's my 2 pictures (sorry if anyone use the first one in their game, i was testing the limits of the game  )

Really neat idea using photos as guides! I had a good time exploring, but I got completely stuck and couldn't find the pasta shop. Great work overall!微信图片_20260425233812.png

(I tried to upload images but it isn't working for me)

Really cool! I do wish there was faster movement and the signs were readable from further away.

prismapunch 2026-04-28 03:31

Very fun game! Wish there was music and sound, it was fun coming to the comments and trying to find the specific images, very cool concept! Loved the art, but wish you moved a bit faster. Can't seem to upload images.

lenny-rudeberg 2026-04-28 08:20

I really do enjoy visual puzzles, so I had a bit of fun play this one. Mostly just enjoyed the aesthetics and vibe of the game, some subtle music and sound fx would have really brought it all together but it's still a fun game. GG!

kanity 2026-04-30 15:12

Hehe this is such a fun and engaging idea!

@mastoast Found yours ;) I was trying so hard to get the exact same angle but in the end THIS is what the game counted xD

foundit!.jpg

actually, 2 ppl already found this one before me! :)

@mrturtle I've got a bit carried away so I have around 6 photos made. I'll share the ones that were the "third" one each playthrough ^v^ (As the game says that's when I am HIDING my stash) I think it's these ones:

photo3.png photo 6.png

I love the colours of the game, the relaxing beachy atmosphere, the gameplay idea is GENIUS and it's just cozy and fun. Only missing audio/music and more smootheness in the movement when I am moving my mouse looking/moving around, it kinda...clips? janky? snaps from one angle to another? I am trying to explain to the best of my ability but you probably noticed it yourself already!

This is a really cool game, and made just by yourself! Wow! I've enjoyed it quite a bit, especially the "social" aspect of it and bright, happy graphics. Thank you for this game ^^

euler-moises 2026-05-01 16:17

I really wanted to play, but the game won't accept any photos. I tried them all.

This game is sooo sweet & cozy :3 i really loved it^^ photo.png photo (2).png

chuchugeralt 2026-05-03 18:06

photo(2).pngphoto(1).png Really nice Game! Some background music would have been the cherry on top, but given the massive assets and the great artstyle, it's more than understandable that you prioritized the visuals. Great job!

rend 2026-05-03 18:15

Really nice concept and the aesthetics is really cozy, I wished you had the time to make some music and SFX, it would have given a great mood. The detection of the required objects felt sometimes a bit tricky but nothing game breaking. You should expand on that concept!photo(7).pngphoto(6).png
