Amazing. Very polished. I can literally see myself spending a lot of time on this game. Great job!

lexi 2021-04-27 01:42

Nice little game! Really really nice graphics and also neat sound. Simple gameplay but it still made me replay a couple of times, although I have to admit most of the time I just dashed like a madman, because it was fun haha :D

All in all great entry!

benatiu 2021-04-27 16:06

Graphics are one of the best I have seen in this jam. Gameplay is simple but great. If I just could make a note, when you dash you sometimes finish in a rock.

nahuelito 2021-04-27 20:39

Really nice visuals. Loved how simple the gameplay is, really easy to pick up and play. As others have mentioned it feels really polished, could easily be in an app-store or something like that! The only thing I would like to see added is keyboard controls, but that's just me. Really awesome game!

jaaskeh 2021-04-27 20:44

Really clean looking art and solid gameplay! Would have loved if the game became more difficult as you went deeper :smile_cat:

lordsylvestrion 2021-04-27 20:49

Very polished has already been said. Easy to get into and you catch on fairly quickly after your first couple of failures. It certainly got the theme of the jam very well. You do just want to go Deeper and Deeper. ^^ The visuals are much like many others some of my favorite in this Jam. ^^

Game is really polished and easy to pick yup! Great Job!!

One challenge with this type of game is when the cursor leaves the window you no longer have control happened to me in the beginning and wasn't a big deal once I realized what was going on

thebooksnail 2021-04-27 21:06

Got 5171m on 2nd play through. Love the cat and movement feels good. It feels like it doesn't get harder and is mostly about surviving. If so it's balanced well. It gets a little chaotic when bouncing off the rocks but it feels a forgiving with the cooldown.

freamdev 2021-04-27 21:44

I couldn't stop laughing for a few min when I dashed the cat headface into a rock. Gotta tell you I didn't make it down a lot but it was so statisfying to spam dash I just kept doing that for like 10 minutes. 10/10

loiclegrosfrere 2021-04-27 22:29

Simple and clean, I like it ! Capture.PNG

volt450 2021-04-27 23:26

I managed to get 5800! This game was very unique. I love the artstyle, and the boost felt very zoomy and powerful.

publicidadeba 2021-04-28 01:37

Super polished, straight to the point, fun and it has a cat. What else can you ask? This game should be in the play store.

melon-spirit 2021-04-28 03:13

I've been looking for this game, and I finally found it again! You guys did really good on the graphics, it felt very professional and polished. The gameplay wasn't bad either.

The only thing I had trouble with was when you hit something and the camera jerks really hard, it's difficult to figure out what's happening to your machine. I also noticed that you can get stuck in a circle of rocks where there is no way to escape because you keep bouncing off of them. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it is pretty frustrating when this happens, so maybe there is a way to control the spacing of the rocks from each other??? Anyways, really good job! Loved the cats and the graphics!

arjenous 2021-04-28 03:32

Nice visuals overall, and the gameplay was fun, too! got a little confused with the camera movement when hitting a rock, but it didn't stop me from dashing all around lol

ondy1985 2021-04-28 08:15

One of the best entries in this LD. Great graphics and real polished gameplay. Sometimes it's just hard to know where you will end after using Dash, but it adds to the fun :-)

a-flat-miner-studios 2021-04-28 15:12

I mean you said your game had a drillcat so then I just had to play it. Really love the visuals, very polished! I did the dash so many times just to crash because it looked fun :) As it's a 'survive as long as you can' game maybe a little more obvious music could have made the mood just a little stronger the longer things went on? But really nice game.

argon 2021-04-28 17:09

Fun little game, the camera movement could use some smoothing, I think it's possible in with the Godot camera node.

leandro4002 2021-04-28 20:42

Nice game with incredible finitions.

I went down 9138 m, which is about 1,4 times earth radius. The planet in which those cats inhabit must be really big and have a really low gravity so that the cat's vehicule can handle that much pressure.

Why are they diggin anyway ?

kaihyo 2021-04-30 07:59

Lovely arts, fun mechanic, and there's a cat ! I definitely love this game. A BGM would have been nice and the camera kinda get clunky on collision, but it's a really nice job you've done. Congrats <3

lenny-rudeberg 2021-04-30 08:01

Very addictive and cute looking game, balance is great too

kapa6uh 2021-04-30 08:01

Very cute game, but the dash is a bit to stong and you can only hope that it will not end in the rocks.

tomssuli 2021-04-30 08:50

I got to 3k something. Nice simple game that probably works as well in a smartphone. Clean graphics and fitting audio for pressurising atmosphere :)

Only grievance was that you can't see forward enough to tactically use the dash. Now it's more up to luck if you manage to avoid one rock and not crash into another.

Otherwise neat little game that looks well polished!

bionikmonster 2021-04-30 09:30

Hi, the game is so well polished! The starting dock looks so great, the particle effect of the drill is awesome, I really loved the graphic part. I also really appreciated the sound effects, all potions have their own sound but I think the drilling loop was a bit annoying at some point. I've reached 8385m but I felt like the gameplay was a bit fade... I think there are almost as many potions down at 5000m than at 1000m. I think that's the only "bad" point about this game.

I think the game is very well done either way, shoutout to the controls, they're soooo smooth, I loved it!

And also, nice instructions, both in-game and on the webpage. Congrats!

This was good fun. Great graphics and I like using the mouse for restricted movement, that gave it an interesting mechanic to get around. I'd like to see a bit of progression as you get further in - even if it were just a speed increase the further down you get, because once you've got the hang of movement, it's really just luck of the draw in terms of fuel and health appearing, that dictates whether you can just keep playing forever. I'd also like to see a respawn rather than being knocked back by boulders. It seemed quite easy to get caught between them so that one mistake ends up taking most of your health bar. Still, great entry - I enjoyed it.

korfi 2021-05-03 00:43

Nice little game!

I really enjoyed the flow-y movement you get when controlling the player with your mouse! At first I was a bit confused about the dash, as I thought it was just a way of getting down faster but risking to get hit on the way down. When I realized it could go through rocks I saw it's true potential as a life saver.

I feel like the fuel was never a problem for me, it could have been nice having less fuel pickups around to make the player have to choose wether it's worth the risk picking it up. Now it just felt like I could skip it and then there would be another one in my path before the fuel situation was dire.

Maybe the game could speed up a bit , there could be less pickups or there could be more rocks when you get further down to make it a bit harder the longer you go.

Overall it was a really fun game and I loved the graphics! :D

boltkey 2021-05-03 01:06

Nice polish, it feels really good to play and control.

The difficulty curve was a bit slow and the playthrough a bit long.

madbarron 2021-05-03 01:39

Cool game! It was fun to steer around my little drillcat. Took me a while to understand that dashing lets you go through stuff without taking damage, but that's a fun little risky move to throw in there. Bouncing off rocks is disorienting, but that's about all there is to complain about. A solid submission :smiley_cat:

bw-devel 2021-05-03 07:39

Things I liked: - nice artwork - sfx are fitting to the game - good feel to movement - nice amouont of polish for a jam game

Improvements/suggestions: - the way the camera is handled on collision is quite jarring and disorienting; put in a pan to the new position (can be a fast pan) so that doesn't just snap instantly to the new position - I feel the difficulty should scale faster for better replayability. If the game is easy-going for 5+ minutes before you get back to a challenging level, you'll find players abandoning after one or two plays - a scoreboard of depths would help the player stay engaged by trying to best is best run - putting in an upgrade loop with a steep difficulty curve may make the game way more replayable - have a shatter effect on the obstacles that get dashed through

bugs: - I didn't encounter any

blaise-ebuth 2021-05-03 16:41

Good game! Concerning the improvements @bw-devel said what I was about to say. I'll add that it would be nice if the cat was more present (Like meowing or something :cat: )

nazorus 2021-05-03 17:30

The game feels super smooth and polished, and has that nice clean pixel art aesthetic, it took me a minute to understand the controls but I quickly got the hang of it and it was pretty satisfying to play, the dash feels great to use.

I'd say the only things missing here are a sense of progression/difficulty and some music to set the mood, and maybe the ability to smash through stuff with the dash.

Overall it's a great entry, you guys did a great job, and it feels like it could become a cool little mobile game

hunter-x 2021-05-04 16:20

I love the art style for this game (though the diggable ground could possibly use a little bit more variation to it) and the gameplay was fun, though there's potential to have the difficulty increase as you play (currently if you know how to do it you can continue indefinitely) and it took a bit of time to get the hang of the controls - my brain expected the direction to be set through the mouse's position relative to the player as opposed to setting the angle purely from the mouse's horizontal screen position. Nice work!
