Very intresting game! I enjoyed the art and music, being close to what I assume was the void and that changing the sound to something darker was a great touch, I loved the pick up sounds, the art, and the over all aesthetic of the game.

This game was really good, and it has a lot of potential.
The art is the best aspect of this game, and it shows the time and care put into it. The audio however was a bit dull and felt weak during the gameplay. There was also a lack of direction, as It was only after I played for a while before I realised I needed to throw my items down into the abyss. This normally comes from developer bias, and it always helps to watch players test it before you upload something so you can see how they react with any given build.
This was however a very unique take on the theme, and I applaud such creativity!
I fall down and thought "Ouch! there's a bug here!" and tried to climb back up but couldn't. Then I just thought "well, I will let them feed with myself" and jumped down. Because I thought it was a bug the message "You offered yourself to the gods" was completely unexpected! fun to play, yet it wasn't clear since the beginning that you had to throw stuff down the ravine, it took me a while to figure out what to do with the stuff I was growing. Yet, nice concept!
Very nice game, I like the graphics and the UI. Mechanic is cool as well :D What could be improved is that using items could feel more snappy. Very solid entry cheers!

very nice !
for me the controls were a bit of gymnastic since there is a lot of actions to do in the game to farm, but it went alright :)
tho surprising mood haha, I end up killing myself by curiosity, but when I tried for real and saw that it's what I do anyway if the god bar is empty ; I found it really fun
i wonder if there is an end ?

Enjoyed this game, played it for a lot longer than I intended. I did notice a few things that could be tweaked: The watering indicator is too subtle, it needs to be explicitly mentioned in the guide or made more obvious. Also sometimes it appears you are watering due to the indicator beating faster but it just keeps going. Not sur eif I'm impatient or it's slightly off. It'd also be good to add to the controls screen that you need to throw the food off the edge. I really liked the effect when chaos meter filled.

I like the contrast between garden and the pit (the music there is chilling). The game itself is meditative, I like it too.
I would like to have a hint during a game - how flowers/fruits affects Ctulhu's state (I read that in "controls" menu, but forgot in few moments).
Thanks for the feedback guys! We did want to put a sign by the pit indicating that you need to throw the fruit off but also I liked the idea of players figuring is out. There are so many things to polish and tweak as we did no user testing hehehe
I really can't overstate how much I enjoyed the start screen of this game--not even joking. No idea what I was supposed to do after that, but it all felt very Richard Scarry and then I offered myself up to cthulu--all around enjoyable despite my confusion.

Simple concept but still good overall. I would have preferred to have to not pick up the tools and have them in my inventory. I love that u can sacrifice yourself as well.

Really great entry. love the art style and gameplay. The only criticism was the watering was sometimes a little difficult to work so I had to move around a bit. Other than that I really enjoyed the game.
Very cool game ! The designs are very cute and gardening is very relaxing/enjoyable (even for Ctulhu). The audio doesns't become unbearable even if you hear it a thousand time wich is a very good point. Hope it will be more deepened in the futur !
Cute! I died twice before figuring out that I had to throw the things off the cliff to feed the monster. The game is simple but fun!

This is a very nice game.Graphics are really good.I got stuck at first when i had to water the plants (it is kinda self explenatory :) ).Overall a good game with a lot of potential.Good job !
My body is an offering to the gods. Very interesting Lovecraftian themes hidden behind a cute aesthetic. The lack of control and the inevitability of your own doom is jarring. I left this game with sweaty palms, reconsidering the real meaning of my own mortality. 5/5!
Really adorable! Loved the audio and 2.5D graphics. Really cool take on the theme, too.

Is it bad that I immediately jumped of the cliff?
Really enjoyed it, the art was great and it was cool watching my plants grow. I wish there was a bit more going on in the game world? I mainly just stood over my plants with the watering can. I maxed out the energy bar at the end and was unsure of what the ending was supposed to be. Overall it was fun and I would like to see more!
i really like the contrast between the calm gardening clashing against eldrich horror. it would be interesting to see a relationship between the plants you're growning and the horrors below rather than standard vegetables and plants just to drive the player to keep gardening, particularly in this cutesy artstyle
Also added a html version to my game if you want to have a go now
Amazing work, this is smart, simple and super funny! I love how you twisted gardening with the monsters, I think there is a very good rhythm overall! Sometimes my seeds ended up being hidden by other objects like trees and it took me a while to learn how to water the plants correctly (the icon feedback is a bit subtle I think).
Loved the laconic graphics and animations.
@superpatch thanks for playing! Yeah wasn't sure what to do with the overlapping stuff. An outline effect or maybe solid color, but didn't want to ruin the look with glowing outlines and such.
Loved the graphics it was very cute and all. The gameplay seems just right but also slow at times. I think this a really nice game!
I think having a run button or more eyecandy on the land would do wonders for the game. Perhaps cute monsters :3

Graphics is really cute! I feel the main area needed some music and a bit more direction but overall great game!
I played it because the pictures were so cute. It's nice to see the apples working so hard to grow a crop.

Very cute game! I like the little details like playing a different sound when moving the mouse over the menu. Controls could be improved in my opinion, having to drop shovel, get seed, drop seed, get shovel etc... I believe it would be more ideal to be able to keep everything we pick inside an inventory and have a button to switch which tool/seed to use. Nice work overall!
Haven't put a full five stars until this game! Thank you for the very cool experience! I have nothing more to say than what the others said but BRAVO!
It took me a while to figure out what I was doing, I went back to read the controls a couple times and experimented a little with the things on the ground. However, your meters depleted very slowly and so I didn't feel too rushed about messing around a little. I only found out how to feed this monster from another comment listed above after ive given it a few tries. I understand if you want the player to explore abit, because when they figure something out, it gives that "ahah!" moment, its exactly what ive done with my game lol! But i feel like you should let people know where to put the food, i was searching around the whole map for a monster to feed!
Other than that, the game is fun and the art is really cute and easy on the eyes with the colours used. I also spend the first minute of the game scolling my mouse on and off the "back" button in the options menu because it seemed to go really well with the music, like i was adding a tune of my own. Great solo achievement!

Cool little game, easy to understand and play. My only gripe is that its pretty luck based on whether or not it spawns the seeds that you need(or at least it feels that way.) I feel like I would enjoy it more if there was a way the player had access to all the different seeds but had limited planting spots or something to make sure its still balanced. I planted apples first in mine but the wait for them to grow was so long that I lost since I didn't get any carrots to sate Cthulhu until it was too late.

a fun little game. beautifully made. i like it.
Very cute game, first time I couldn't work out how to feed the monster and fell off the edge haha, second play though I worked it out no probs

Nice visuals! I didn't notice controls button at the start so everything including controls, what and why I was doing was a surprise.. Interesting idea for a game
Fun game, and great graphics! The game is nice and polished! I think the background music should stay throughout the whole game (Because the music is awesome!) not just during the main menu. Just a little suggestion. Over all great game!

Ok, I finally get how to properly play this game. It was fun, nice idea and concept. I would have liked some more immersive music, related to the theme somehow. Nevertheless, it is a nice and fun game!
Cool 2,5D aesthetics! Kinda reminds me of Don't Starve. Great contribution, well done!
very nice art. not sure if i won or lost, but had a good time along the way
Neat game, nice idea and graphics, 1st thing I've done was to sacrifice myself of course.
I adore the art style, and the music is great too! I only wish there was a way to speed up the process of the plants growing. Even just some bg music during the main gameplay loop would be nice. Overall I enjoyed this game a lot!
@pee-thief, @ifidamas thanks for playing haha yeah it's a bit ambiguous we would have liked to add more to help the player know what to do and also add more like.. endgame or win condition stuff but ran out of time xD
@nick-biglin the main gameplay loop ended up being quite meditative especially with the no music. I did the music at like 4am at the last minute so I couldn't do much but I had so many ideas for it lol glad u enjoyed!

Had the carrot get stuck on the ledge right as I ran out of hunger.
all round great work, would actually love to see this developed into a bigger game. appeasing cthulu and being a cute little applebob just gardening in an endless void is a good juxtaposition. just needs more features to round it out, little stardew valley, little animal crossing maybe

I loved controlling the little apple man and growing my little offerings. I had some trouble with watering, but overall everything was easy to control.
I did end up making the ultimate sacrifice in the end :sob:
Great job!
Honestly I thought the music in the main menu was really cool. It made music whenever I hovered over any buttons and it made me feel like a musician lol. Graphics style was also very interesting, great mix of 2 and 3 dimensions. It was a bit unclear that you were supposed to throw the food off the edge to feed the beast, but maybe it said that somewhere and I just missed it.
I found myself a little confused at first, not really understanding what to do (I don't really read the "controls" before playing :D) but after I got the gist of it, I found the idea really great! You should definitely keep on improving the game, and officially release it one day. Wish you the best of luck!
Also thank you for the comment on my game, I really appreciate it!
Cute graphics! I think it would be great to have a direction of what to do and probably a sign of like where the cliff is. Cause I was trying to figure out where to throw the carrot so I kinda ran and fell off.

A very nice game! I love the artstyle, simple and clean. :) The audio side in the game could be a little bit better. While the menu music and the creepy sounds around the edge of the map were great, the lack of music during the gameplay was very noticable.
As for the gameplay itself, I wish there was a better indication of your target. When holding a shovel it was difficult to dig new holes. I guess because I was too close to the existing ones, but some in-game indication would be nice. I'd also add some highlight to the currently targeted item, right now if there are two or more items close to each other I press E and pick up one of them seemingly at random. The watering indicator was a great idea, but it was a little bit too subtle (I've noticed it after two or three playthroughs).
Anyhow, I had fun playing your game. Good job! :)
Really enjoyed playing this in my stream last night! Been talking to the artist and designer of this on Instagram too - your team sound awesome which makes playing this game even more fun :) Really like the art style. Can't help but think the apple is super sweet! I like the comedic elements too. Would be great to see more gameplay elements in the future to make it more replayable. Awesome entry - you guys should be super happy!
I liked it but it not very clear what you are supposed to do at first. I would add some kind of help/tip telling what to do when you grab an offering that is ready to be thrown down. Good job!
I really like the UI. The game is nice even if I struggle what to do at the beginning, it needs some instructions. But the experience was nice.

Such a lovely little apple haha! The design and graphics are awesome. The only thing I can suggest is to have a small tutorial in the begining! Nothing too dificult, it can be just a text withing an apple as UI image! Overall a very nice game and you should keep working on it after the LD event!
I offered myself to the gods and I loved the sound effect that played while I was doing it :).
Awesome game!!! @
I love it!
The art style and the theme together are great. It took me awhile to figure out what to do, but that feels like it was maybe intentional.
Great art/animation/sound.
Is there a win condition? It certainly works with the setting if not, but I am curious if there is something I did not find.
Also, the menu was great. I loved how the UI audio worked with the music. Clever!
@eran-haas Thanks for playing! Yeah I think the music UI is my favourite part haha. There is no win condition at the moment! I'm actually not sure the direction to take it, whether it should end up having a narrative or just be a meditative experience.
Great entry! The "cartoon 3D" art style works well and looks original. Sounds is also good. Gameplay was easy to understand, though I mixed up Q and E a lot at first. Another thing I struggled with is to properly point the water at the plant, the hitbox seems to be off or oversensitive. I would suggest speeding up the player a bit, as the game's pace is a bit slow. Sometimes the plants would just die, is there a way to prevent that?
The art in this works so well with the gameplay. Liked how it presented a cute setting for the player to navigate. Did get a bit confused and hadn't realised you needed to throw the things you're growing off the cliff until I read the comments.

A nice small game with cute graphics. I like the music too. It's a quiet place to grow trees and flower ^^ No stress. I like the way you can take use and drop objects. But perhaps planting seeds would require a bigger trigger : We need lot of precision sometime. Anyway. It's a very good entry well in the theme. Congratulation!
Haha this is great, love the concept of "offering to the gods". I accidentally offered myself up lol. The art and animations were really nice/seamless and the sound design was also great. Would have liked to hear some more music maybe while digging/planting but I love the sound effect that happens when you creep up towards the edge. Nice work!
