It was fun, although I thought you would win when you grew all the plants not when you got through all the levels.

A coyote timer could add a lot to the game as currently the platforming gets frustrating without it.

I liked it! Just wished I could harvest the plants after they grew for that double harvest feel :grin: I really enjoyed seeing the plants grow each drip of a soul.

Some feedback: - walking/movement sound a bit annoying over time, rather would leave it out - having jump on "A" was weird for me, would've prefered it on :arrow_up: - shooting feels really satisifying! - background art would bring the games mood more up - some levels I mostly just fell down directly, could be less vertical depth and more horizontal, especially since the player can only shoot left or right.

A very unusual combination of farming and platforming! I liked the idea and the ease of management! It would be cool to complicate the vertical component of the levels a little (so as not to fall down to the end right away), but within the time allocated by the gamejam, you did an excellent job!

I like this! I feel like the controls tripped me up a little, especially at the start, so maybe a bit more options for controls would be nice! Another thing, is that it was somewhat difficult to aim where you wanted to drop the soul, so oftentimes mine went to the wrong pot, and it was also difficult to tell when a plant was fully grown. Overall though, this was a fun, short game and I enjoyed it!

the game is amazing, the visual simple and clean. :v: loved the mechanics and objective of the game, pretty simple. the only issue I'm having is the shooting mechanic when you jump shoot the mobs. doesn't feel natural. but overall good game, enjoy it!

Nice game, with a soul! :) The retro feel is really nice, reminded me of Atari. Shooting is satisfying.

An idea would be to make the level start again from the start and you keep going until you grow all the plants. Great entry.

Liked your game in concept! Mixing harvesting with platforming is engaging gameplay! I didn't realize at first that the spot you plant was important so I was speeding by, emptying souls, so I didnt actually grow any plants! The inputs feel nice and responsive, however the key layout is odd. Jump should be mapped to UP, I think, since that feels more natural, or SPACE. And I think having WASD controls would help a lot, too, since people are much more used to that. However, still a fun and cute game! good work!

This was a nice game. I liked the fact that you harvest souls to grow plants (that you'll probably harvest one day... Double harvesting !!).

One or two things : * I prefer the up arrow or eventually the space bar for jumping. * It can be annoying to miss a pot with the harvested soul and realize you poured it into the next pot where the flower was already fully grown. * Some of the levels felt too big. I mean, as your design/art is really minimal, I felt like I was playing in really empty levels sometimes.

I think you should have added at least 7 more monster so it would be able to grow all plants. Even though I had finished it there's still this lingering feeling that I have not fully completed my mission :(

Nice execution on the mechanics though, it was very enjoyable jumping and shooting around. Congratulations!

Cool idea to blend growing a garden with killing enemies! Jumping around and shooting enemies feels nice; love the art style, too! :)

I disliked the dropdown levels a bit since i couldn't aim up to shoot the enemies and i just had to wait for them at the bottom. Appart from that its great, and i cant explain how much i love the graphics! They are simple yet soooo effective! And also Gamemaker brings a lot of fond memories.. Cute game! The choice of controls was kind of weird, however I got used to it fairly quickly :) Tending to this little garden between the platforming and fighting was kind of wholesome ^.^

Fun very simple shooter. I liked the theme of watering plants with souls but I didn't like that you could miss and drop the soul to ground and not retrieve it any way and also that you lost the soul if you overwatered a plant. These things could have been foretold in the game if it was intentional. If not, then you should somehow make sure the player can't throw the souls to waste.

Sound effects were solid and the action was nice and fast. I would have liked to shoot upwards/downwards though. Also some background ambient or music would have worked wonders for the mood that was now very quiet and plain.

I liked the graphic style, you could clearly see what is what and it reminds me of old times games. There could have been corner pieces in the tileset though - to make the floors/walls feel more complete.

Simple but enjoyable. The interludes between combat to plant souls were a nice little refresher, though I'm not sure there was actually a gameplay purpose to the flowers? It felt nice to grow them regardless. I do wish the aiming had been a bit clearer, as I really struggled to gauge where my soul would be planted.

I found myself wishing the difficulty would pick up a bit more so I could grab more souls, I wasn't getting hit on most of the first levels so it started relatively slow. I had fun throughout though, it was nice and short and the hook of trying to make as many flowers as I could kept me motivated.

The shooting sound was a bit rough and the controls were a weird scheme for me personally. The movement speed and shooting were quick and well done. The levels were decently designed, but I had an issue with not seeing enough of the level, falling down and having to wait for the enemies to navigate towards me. Overall thought you did a good job, with some minor things to hash out!

I enjoyed the idea of having to go back to your garden after each hunt out. Reminds me a bit of Cult of the Lamb with the casual gameplay following each rougelike run.

The lack of background music + the harsh movement sounds were a bit hard on my ears, and I wish there was also a volume bar in the game too. I tried to open up a pause menu, which ended up exiting the game :(. The enemies were sometimes frustrating when they'd stop moving at a height level that I wouldn't be able to shoot them without having to do awkward jumping moves. However, I did enjoy the movement and how smooth it felt, as well as the camera. As some of the other comments suggested, a more horizontal focus would've been better since I found myself falling down straight to the door in some levels.

That is a good conecpt, and the collision are perfect, but gameplay is too simple, there is no other intersting stuff except shoot. Try to add more feedback from growth the plant, and make this game more harder.

So jump with A is not very intuitive nor shoot with S especially with an azerty keyboard. I'm soo bad at plateform games so with this keys it's nearly impossible for me. Hard but fun anyway !

I like the simple style of this game, and I love the mechanic of collecting souls to grow your garden. The enemy movement being floaty was nicely done too. however as other have said, I feel like A for jump is counter intuitive, it could just be up arrow and have the down arrow to go through doors, for example. Otherwise, the controls felt smooth and nice.

Had fun playing overall, and was able to complete the game :]

Interesting little game! The ghosts are quite cute! Was struggling a little bit with the input since you sometimes can't jump and move at the same time. Very cool concept though! Well done!

I like your game! Some feedback I've got:

- It was pretty easy to just ignore the big red enemies and go for the door - I'm not sure why the game told me every other level how the controls work

Pretty decent game, i liked the art and the sfx, even though they were a bit too loud. The thing i would change is pouring of souls. I missed the pot 2 times, but overall it was pretty decent

A fine little game. The graphics and aestetics were fitting and the flowers were a moment of respite before I plunged myself back into the action! The difficulty was fitting and a natural escalation. Tho the enemys were not as much a stuggle as the controls. I wish I had more control over my shooting direction. Mean of those enemies, that they get to shoot diagonaly while I could not :(

Nice game, I loved the main character's art. Pity I couldn't grow all the flowers before the game ended. Sounds were good, not irritating. The level design was cool. I really enjoyed this game :)

The idea is good, however it would be nice to have some bonuses from growing flowers. Movement feels a bit too heavy. Also it feels a bit unfair that you can shoot only horizontally, while enemies can shoot in any direction.. Overall, great job!

Well done pulling platformer for gamejam entry. There goes more work under the hood than it seems at first. I had fun, game felt incomplete after all levels, as there are still pots left without a grown flower. I managed to accidentally drop first two drops on ground, as I didn't realize right away, that it's not a fighting level anymore and I don't need to press `shoot` anymore.

I will echo previous comments also: 1. Controls are weird, at least leave `jump`/`action` to `z`/`x` buttons. Better yet map to `space` and/or `shift`/`control` 2. The movement felt too twitch'y, I had to adjust my position a lot, when pouring souls. And missed platforms/jump points a lot. 3. Sound effects are great, with exception of `running`. I would have spent extra two minutes sampling _Coin_ sounds from **bfrx**, cut the sound a to shorter version and played them more often. (Think `Super Mario Bros`)

Also I was hoping, that fully growing a flower would grant you a new power. e.g.: double/wall jump, faster shooting, spread fire shoots, dash..

Overall, great entry - keep it up :thumbsup:
