LD52 — Harvest

I liked it! Just wished I could harvest the plants after they grew for that double harvest feel :grin: I really enjoyed seeing the plants grow each drip of a soul.

Some feedback: - walking/movement sound a bit annoying over time, rather would leave it out - having jump on "A" was weird for me, would've prefered it on :arrow_up: - shooting feels really satisifying! - background art would bring the games mood more up - some levels I mostly just fell down directly, could be less vertical depth and more horizontal, especially since the player can only shoot left or right.

Fun game! I really like the name Idea with Betty Raba / Beet root :smirk: I found it a bit creepy that you kinda plant and harvest "clones" of yourself :grin:

Some feedback: - movement feels sluggish, like the character needs to "accelerate" - soundtrack is good, fits the arts and vibe, maybe a bit too "busy" or stressfull, like if you were under timepressure. - the walking sound is very annoying after some time :sweat_smile: - the slowing down on water wasnt really noticable for me? also maybe instead of water (since water = good for plants) make it fresh soil or mud (other color than blue?)

Some additions I could see added: - different seeds = different point values (1,2,5 pts) - different map layout or even you advance to anotherlevel after XY pts accumulated - maybe different characters with different traits? (Betty is faster in planting, another isf aster in harvesting, etc.)

was really fun! After getting the corn the money just came in - i took little notes to see how much harvest vs cost per seed i get and my favorites were definitely corn -> watermelon -> pineapple :grinning:

Lack of sound wasnt really an issue here, I have to say (played the browser version, which was a great option too, btw.)

some feedback: - couldnt place a 2nd dome at all - really fast paced, so definitley not for players that want a relaxing experience haha - I found out, I idnt have to move the astronout really and could just do everthing zoomed out - overall the Gameplay was solid and I definitely saw me hooked to get to the next level :v:

Fun Maze Game! At first I felt the maze was huge, but makes up for a great challenge. finding first the rhinobeetle, strider and grass cutter bug. the spaced out obstacles leading into a dead-end were mean :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Missed an end screen or it didnt showed me one (blank green Background)

Loved the Ant portrait with the little explorer hat!

Absolutely army men flashback on PSX :sunglasses: finished the game, liked the map design, where you gave options to shoot the walls to get a sneaky way around some guards. 2 different type of enemies were great, really satisifying when they break into bits after shooting. Liked the bopping hopping movement. Sounds were good, the music was moody and fitting and despite it being the same loop it didn't got annoying for the time being. Mission Briefing was fitting, the Missions were fitting with that assasination goal at the end.

Like most ppl here commenting, the turn speed was too fast, I had to adjust "tip" the left and right (A&D) to get the shot aligned - but even more satisfying to get a bunch of enemies with one sniper shot :id:

Great idea, love the watercolor hand drawn artstyle, sound was great too, though I had to turn it off (played it at work :upside_down:)

I was also one of the unfortunate ones that didnt got the astrology tower last and locked out to get the last toke at the Honey Collector Hive, where it cost 60 pollen but I could only carry 40 pollen :cry: Game could be shorter, as mentioned before, I had 10 days left when I had everything unlocked and was just farming the most efficent way (purple flowers going down to Honeymoon Hive and trade the 1 pollen for 10 honey and get 2 more purple flowers for 20 pollen to trade for 200 honey and repeat)

It has a puzzle feel, to find your ways to navigate that are most efficent, that triggers my inner perfectionist gamer :sweat_smile: could see having various "islands" where the Bee hive expands and you have to do the same cycle but with different paths, maybe adding each island a new tech building, which you can then as well unlock on the previous islands (to boost autoharvest/hone production) Endgoal would be to collect at least XXXX Honey before the said Winter after e.g. 120 days, but you can always travel between Main hives, for each new turn (day). Was exciting and fun, the "pressure" you feel, when running out of oil was definitely real. Had fun trapping the Critters when going around the corner :rat: :sunglasses:

Its a fun idea, I like the slugginesh of the controls actual, makes you use the momentum to plan big turns. Enemies spawning in front of you or directly "inside" you when changing the level is suboptimal though. The music was a bit stressfull for my taste, for that rather relaxing gaming experience. In Level 3 It seems the Krill was not updating the count size accordingly or delayed I went from 30 to 12 and it didnt change then I went up again but I had only 3 krills.

I did not understand what the pan does and how the points cost are generated, but I guess the Pan is a trap and for each cheeses you get some "cost" back?

I like the idea, I can imagine it being a fun little game, making so to say your own parcour you have to try to finish. Assets look great!

Art is nice and I like the idea of scavanging the meat from the whale carcass with your isopods. Cards where a bit confusing, for e.g. I used a "steal 4 from opponents base" and it seemse it got added 4 meat on the right base, not on mine. I think the concept is nice overall, with more content and a longer game session.

Thanks everyone so far for the nice feedback, we appreciate it extremly! And kudos for @kalbshack for the fantastic tutorial, couldnt agree more, he really did an awesome job with that one :grin:

Regarding Lack of Flag removal and limited time to get it done and Map border being "crossable" Yeah it really was tough the last 6-8hours to focus on what really needs to be done and sadyl those all fell off the 2-do list. We definitely learned again for the next gamejam where and specifically WHEN to shift focus or have all features implemented to start polishing :sweat_smile: Like Kalbshack already stated, we barely got enough testing time in :see_no_evil:
