Very pretty game!
Nice game!!
Super cool and pretty game, awesome work! <3
Controls are pretty fun when you get used to it. I love the art style! Keep up the good work
Nice one
It has a lot of unique ideas, and it is fun! Well done!
Nice ()! I really love the colorful and cute artstyle of this game, and while I didn't last very long, it was fun going back in and trying to do better! I know a lot of this was probably on purpose, but the character felt *very* slow and slippery to control, which directly contrasted with the moments you needed good control on your character to survive; it made it hard to last as long as I wanted to, but hey, I'm also just bad at this game (:stuck_out_tongue:). I'm sure I could get great at this if I kept playing for longer, but for now I'm gonna move on to something else! Great job, both of you, keep it up!
very fun game to play! i mostly felt that the difficulty could have been slowly increased, such as with different obstacles being added one by one . i died a lot in the first few tries. i enjoyed the composition of the game a lot, very fun and gleeful. nice soundtrack as well. congrats.
Amazing, awesome work! <3
It's a cute little game. I just wish there was a way to turn down the squeaky walking noise, it gets very unnerving ^^ I personally would have increase the controls responsiveness. Making the character faster with a steeper acceleration for example. It would make it more responsive to start moving, but you could still keep the sliding when slowing down at the end if you want somewhat of a challenge. Having more responsive controls would also have allowed you to ant up the ante and challenge by making faster hazard, all in all increasing the game difficulty and intensity (and thus exhilaration). Good try!
I liked this one a lot. Well done! My team and I have a bit of an appetite for difficult games, and the difficulty here ramps up quite solidly. I managed 9 points before (I think?) I got spawn-killed by a spinning blade, though there was so much going on at that point I couldn't tell for sure.
The controls are a bit slippery, as mentioned above, but I think that adds to the experience - it made me pay much more attention to my surroundings and forced me to be much more careful when planning routes.
I wish there had been levels and level goals, but that's a personal preference, not something the game strictly needs.
Great game and really cute graphics! Here is some feedback for you: - The squeezing sounds it just too annoying, please remove it 🙏 - I would make the camera a bit closer, it's hard to see the blade - When you collect an extra carrot, why not counting as an Extra life so if you are touched by the blade you can live on? - I would make the colour of the Blade Red to show that it's not good for you.
The sound design is a bit... aggresive ahah But other than that, I had my share of fun, great job !
Hey, the sound hoocked me in the mood. Nice Idea. good work.
Fun game! I really like the name Idea with Betty Raba / Beet root :smirk: I found it a bit creepy that you kinda plant and harvest "clones" of yourself
Some feedback: - movement feels sluggish, like the character needs to "accelerate" - soundtrack is good, fits the arts and vibe, maybe a bit too "busy" or stressfull, like if you were under timepressure. - the walking sound is very annoying after some time  - the slowing down on water wasnt really noticable for me? also maybe instead of water (since water = good for plants) make it fresh soil or mud (other color than blue?)
Some additions I could see added: - different seeds = different point values (1,2,5 pts) - different map layout or even you advance to anotherlevel after XY pts accumulated - maybe different characters with different traits? (Betty is faster in planting, another isf aster in harvesting, etc.)
Overall good entry! Cheers! :beers:
Game looks fantastic, music is great and fitting. the hit box on the blades is a bit rough - I would also like some feedback when I get hit.
as others have said the controller is a little slippery
great job
I love Betty Raba she looks so rad(ish)! She sounds a bit annoying though. The music fits perfectly, all the assets look nice, and the game is simple enough to grasp and have fun immediatly. I feel like the timer was a bit too long, making it difficult to stay engaged during a whole playthrough
Awesome! Really fun to play and absolutely love the graphics. The concept is really cool, amazing job :)
Very cute game! The game is simple and fun and the overall style is cute and fun. Though I think the movement is just a smidge too slippery.
A different and interesting approach to the theme. I love it. Good job mate! I like the movement style. If you would like to shred some zombies with your tractor while you're drifting, you can check out my entry!
This is a nice entry! The scope feels really right for the timeline you had to work in while getting to really polish up the art and details.
I definitely agree that the squeaking walk cycle noise is not fun. I think just a very subtle sound of crunching dirt would make more sense for the character and the environment. I also wanted to mention that the GUI for planting seeds could stand out a bit more as the dark green blends in very heavily to the environment. I think a brighter color and some flashier animation would make that stand out better. I think more animations and flashy prompts would help overall to really sell things. The goofy nature of the game lends itself to going a little wild and fun with the feedback.
Really solid entry! Great work
Very nice! The art especially stands out as something very *polished* for a jam game!
My favorite part: - Attacks were well telegraphed, like the shadow of the shovel - I liked the gameplay loop of collecting, planting, harvesting
I would have loved some more sound effects -but I guess that was out of scope for this jam :)
Final note: the HTML5 embed in Ludum Dare itself didn't seem to work. Not sure if that's on LD though!
A really cool idea about trying to avoid the harvest :-). The graphics were great!
Love the art style and the aesthetic. Some nice assets were produced for the time limit! The gameplay is fairly simple and straightforward, but effectively implemented. I'd say the movement is a little slippery and the cooldown for dashing felt a little bit frustrating at times, but otherwise a solid entry!
Not bad! I love the artstyle, and the slightly unresponsive character movement made for a nice challenge. My only problem is the constant squeaking noise was really annoying XD
Rarely do I get to play as the prey, so that is an interesting concept. I especially liked the cute little character and the puzzle concepts, kinda reminds me of pac-man. Some things that I would like to point out: - I would enjoy a larger hitbox when collecting the fruit. - The walking sound could use some variation, as others have pointed out. Very interesting artstyle and cool graphics
**Cute** game! The visual is very cute and I can see there was a lot of work into it.
About the music, I think it is great. But the **walking Sound Effect** is a bit annoying.
About the movement, it is sluggy, the Betty **slowly accelarates** instead of walking, it feels like a Car, or as if Betty is over Ice.
Oh a thing I forgot: About the **Dash**, there could be some **indicator** for when it is already loaded for use!
Overall, fun game!
Love this game! Congrats! Music, SFX, cute characters! Well done!
This game was pretty fun, I played it a few times and enjoyed it! I didn't end up surviving the full 4 minutes any of the times I played, mostly out of carelessness. I feel like there should either be collectables or a timer, not both. Or at least show the score when you die, instead of just booting me out. Good job!
