Great game, you are great fellows.

wolderado 2023-05-02 08:50

Really nice entry! The amount of drawing in the game is really really impressive! And everything is so wholesome. Gameplay was really fun too! I tried not to use dash ability too much cause it seems like it doesn't have a cooldown so it breaks the game

svenerik 2023-05-02 09:00

Very cute aesthetic style and lovely game-play. The graphics are wonderful overall, though I really specially dig the environment style a lot there. The sounds and the music were quite spot on too, but I do wish when you "shoot" the mail, there would be more of a "uumpf" to it, some sound, feel. Besides that jolly little game, liked it a lot!

trezark 2023-05-02 09:15

BRAVO ! Really cool game. The mood and visuals are great !

katya-pavlenko 2023-05-02 10:10

wow, love the graphics! and gameplay is really nice, enjoyed your game a lot

jhax 2023-05-02 10:16

This is astonishingly good! The art is gorgeous!

Really like having the separate sorting / delivering sections of the game and having to manually read maps and navigate around the town rather than having an objective marker / arrow is a lovely touch.

skitefall 2023-05-02 10:18

Cool game. I really like the graphics. Music is soothing too. I like the hero theme.

I got stuck between poles a lot. I think the W-key tends to be stuck. The arrow keys are relatively fine. I also wish the camera to follow the player a bit closer. He's a bit too far away on the screen.

angiemon 2023-05-02 10:18

Holy FUCK, right from the start I knew this game had some serious talent behind it, this has to be the best entry I've ever seen!!!

Where to begin... the artstyle, music, gameplay, mechanics, game loop... this just feels like I bought and played something on Steam! There is nothing bad to say about this, only tips for the steam release ;)

Also, the concept of delivering mail per crossbow is absolutely ridiculous and I love it.

This game has serious potential if you wanna continue working on it :)

The gameplay was real fun and very clear, the feedback was great! (although there can never be too much sounds ;D)

It felt real nice and fast paced to race through the carefully crafted and huuuuge (!) map, while trying to avoid those restricted areas (spoiler: I failed a lot, maybe because I don't have a driver's license... haha)

I LOVED the art and little details, from all the npcs, boats, kicking away cars, animations down to the SUPER adorable credit scene (is that whisteling you guys?) so much love and detail went into this, absolutely incredible. The artstyle is fantastic too, the shapes and proportions kind of reminded me of Deponia but with a much more drawn and sketchy look (which I prefer! The pastel-ish colours were really pleasing to the eyes too!)

The gameplay is very fluid and neat! Also, this is one of the games that incroporated orienting yourself in a way that makes it fun and an integral part of the gameplay (not gonna lie, my orientation skills are somewhere between a blind lobotomized snail and Zoro from One Piece, so usually orientation can be a bit frustrating, to say the least)

Also, the sorting game is flawless! felt like an actual game, really.

I also liked that all the moving cars and the player only looked to the left and right, looked silly but like in a cute and artsy, intentional way :)

Now for the steam release ;)

Much more sounds would be cool :D

Maybe you could incorporate that you can change the "ammo", aka letter colours while driving for bonus points if you deliver them (like, a postbox indicates that blue letters give a bonus, red nothing and green a slight penality in points, or something like that)

Adding different levels like in overcooked would also be cool, I like organisation levels like that :)

There's actually loads more that can be done, like... I don't know.. incorporating a duck zombie apocalypse level where you have to avoid the duck zombies, lol. Like I said, a lot of potential :)

Oh one more thing, I would have maybe liked to have a little minimap around the player (GTA or witcher style) not in a huge radious to still make the maps scattered around the city, but like as a little help, but that I think is really a preferrential thing (maybe there's like an ingame shop to purchase this and other upgrades, but that then takes away from your final score or something) but that is just a preferential thing I think, the way it works now is also nice and works out.

Great game guys, this is a fully fledged game, I'm jealous :)

In the end I thought I was awesome, but I think I only managed to hit Bronze, there is my League of Legends trauma again, haha!

PostCrossbow.jpg

Good job, hope you're proud of yourselfes, basically 5 stars all around! <3

vidu 2023-05-02 11:16

@angiemon YOU are amazing. Thank you so much for your kind, beautifull and so complete message. This is the kind of messages that makes me (and probably us) so happy ! I don't we will relaease it on steam because we are working on our own game since two years, but we are so glad you loved this game ♥ Thank you again, and next time, let's create something together ;)

@skitefall Thank you for your kindwords ! Oh, sorry for the movement issues ! Hope you still live a fun experience with the game anyway.

@jhax Thank you so much ♥ Yeah, when all the baskets are free, the sorting game is quite challenging and fun. It was the first game jam experience of our dev' so we try to separate the gameplay in individual little experiences.

@katya-pavlenko Thank you so much for your beautifull words ! We're glad you enjoy the ride ♥ Thank you for writting your comment !

@trezark Thank you very much !

@svenerik Thank you for your kind words ♥ You are so true ! We should have add the "Boiiiing" when we shoot. Next time !

@wolderado Thank you for your comment ! At first our goal was to cap the use of dashing. But it was so fun to drive in this city, dashing everywhere and hitting car so we thought : "It's a game jam's game ! Let's go !" But yeah, I think, for a proper game, a good dashing mechanic would be better !

@gleb-yakovlev Thank you so much for your kind words ♥

milkyjoe73 2023-05-02 11:42

Really unique art style, you guys really captured an atmosphere here! Felt Very polished overall good stuff

mololo 2023-05-02 11:43

This is such a polished game, it feels like a complete game. I really love the art style and the concept, and it's clear that you are all very talented individuals. In my opinion, this is the best game I have played so far, 5/5. Great job!

gmiss 2023-05-02 12:52

I can't believe that this beautiful game is done in 3 days, cool idea and great realization.

abipup 2023-05-02 13:24

Keep up the good work! love the artstyle, i just wish it had more animations and an easier way to see the mail posts.. but other than that, awesome job!!!

triangle-point 2023-05-02 14:39

I love the art so much and the mix of gameplay is awesome! Both work so well and they are so fun to do! Great game!

space-games 2023-05-02 14:42

For being made in 78 hours the art is amazing! Good job!

waptaincaffles 2023-05-02 14:48

Amazing art, to draw all this to this quality in the time given is amazing. There was times I wish I could open the map or get some idea of where i was going without going to a map. But other than that, I think you've done an amazing job!!

joscco 2023-05-02 14:52

I love that game, bravo! It holds so much content for a three day game and the sorting part gives a nice contrast to the delivering parts. So polished, graphically a little masterpiece, very well done. Also the sound design gives us very happy vibes.

I would have needed the fact that this crossbow for delivery is in fact a cross bow (and not a direction arrow) a bit more to my face. I followed that "arrow" for the first 2 minutes without realising I could use it with my mouse

weirdbitgames 2023-05-02 15:56

The cover image for this game seems to be the default image:

Untitled3.png

I'm not sure if that's a bug my end? Luckily I still came in to visit! I know that a thumbnail in the lovely, endearing artstyle of this game would be very attractive to people!

As I said, the artstyle is superb! I got confused at the sorting phase at first but I got there. The delivery phase was quite hard and I felt like I maybe delivered some letters to the wrong places? Either way, a delightful game, sersiously! I will be disappointed if this isn't one of the top-rated entries!

vidu 2023-05-02 17:01

@weirdbitgames Oh sure, thank you so much, we were so tired we forgot about it !! Thank you very very much !

rhewid 2023-05-02 17:14

Very well polished game. Had lots of fun sorting and then delivering the letters. Awesome, one of my fav. entries.

weirdbitgames 2023-05-02 17:18

@vidu Glad to help! <3

ruslana 2023-05-02 19:37

The art style is amazing!

nicmagnier 2023-05-03 07:33

wow what a really cool game.

The art and animation is amazing. Same the music that create a really nice relaxing atmosphere. I like also the sorting mechanic and how it get increasingly more difficult.

Really amazing work.

lepoulet 2023-05-03 12:55

chrome_FsoJFGDqzY.png Really nice game. Everything is well polished for a 72h game: From music to animation, gameplay, without any bugs. Good job for the 5 of you. The difficulty is progressive, it is a bit difficult to remeber the map in detail but with all the minimap everywhere, the gameplay loop is cool. Deliver a letter, check the map, DASSSSSSSSSH to another letterbox. The portals are a good idea. Nothing is here to punish seriously, you juste lose some time, with the cars or other obstacles. The sounds and music are so clean. Music is not boring over the days and make the work charming. I felt like a lover letter delivery man. 2D art and animations are consistent and beautifull. I really like the scooter animation. It work very well only with 1 direction. The only little deception is for the road lines, it could be awesome if they were maybe by drawing.

ntimi 2023-05-03 14:18

I loved this game! The art is gorgeous, the music fit perfectly, I liked how I got to know more and more of the city day by day (and thanks for adding maps all around town, I never really had to search for one), the driving was fun, the animations were just right. I had to fiddle a bit when throwing the letters with my touchpad, but that's on me for not using a mouse. :D And I only found out on the second day that I should deliver the letters to specific adresses, not throw them in anywhere. That confused me at first, but makes sense, of course. And I love the town, I'd love to visit it some time.

All in all, great entry.

bezedh 2023-05-03 17:10

Really amazing ! I had a great pleasure to navigate in the city! everything is polished, very well coded and the art is amazing and really used in a very smart way! GG to you guys! Hope you keep making game, your team has serious potential!

erlioniel 2023-05-03 17:14

Nicely done, one of the best of implementations of the theme! Not that easy to sort, but it's a good approach. And overall gameplay cycle I do like. There is not so much to feedback honestly, it's almost perfect!

klausklapper 2023-05-03 17:27

This one was really nice. I greatly enjoyed playing it. There's not much to add to the other reviews, art is gorgeous, on point, and the whole thing feels very polished. I can definitely see this being released as a full game with more content in the future. Well done! :)

obittner 2023-05-03 17:43

What an amazing litte game you made here :) I really enjoyed playing it and scored a silver medal in the end. It got fined twice for dashing to close to a one-way zone without actually going trough it, but I guess thats still quite lenient compared to my reckless driving style :D

kleich 2023-05-03 17:56

This is so awesome! Wow! Excellent job all around, this is one of the most polished entries I've seen. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this.

The art is absolutely beautiful and the style is consistent. The music and effects are lovely and add to the feeling the game is striving for.

The tutorial elements here are amazing. They really helped to create a polished and 'finished' feeling and helped me to understand the game without having to check the itch page or open a panel with a list of instructions. I especially loved the chalk drawings in game with tips and directions.

Both the package sorting and the overworld sections felt good to play. I had a great time with both.

> Note: I did manage to get stuck between two of the pillars on the sidewalk (but I guess that's what I get for not following traffic rules :joy_cat:)! I couldn't get out of this position and had to restart the game. postalhero_stuck.png

This is a lovely entry and I hope you're all super proud of your hard work and accomplishments here! Fantastic game, well done!!

sdelay 2023-05-03 18:07

Unique game! has its own style, because of the music and the art, it's a pleasure to play! Still confusing to use mouse and the keyboard. The sorting mechanic is creative. Portals in the map is a great idea. Maybe what lack is the map system. On the loading image, the delivery guy is watching a map, but in the game, he can only check maps on city boards. So finding a map to know where to go eventualy gets boring. I would love to check a map, place a marker and then when I drive the marker would give me a global direction. Yet, I'm impressed by the game , and it is obviously a good team work!

adam-gallina 2023-05-04 06:12

I really liked the art style, and everything played really smoothly! The one problem I had was the sorting was a bit confusing - it took me a bit before I realized you had to press the corresponding key, not drag and drop the letter like the tutorial implied. Nice job!

raggedyjam 2023-05-04 06:14

Awesome game with great controls for every step of the day. Great choice in idea for the sorting and the approach with the delivery. The visuals are absolutely amazing and the simple animations complement them perfectly. The audio is great and fits the game too. Level design is awesome with the portals and all the references to help you navigate and make a path, I don't know how you got that much detail in time. I had heaps of fun, there was plenty of play time and my favorite part was the sorting as it got harder as you progressed. I managed to get a sliver medal.

jatinstic-gaming 2023-05-04 07:32

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting such a polished game made in 72 days! The graphics and the audio go together extremely well and I had a lot of fun shooting mail into the mailboxes using a crossbow while navigating the beautiful city. There is just one thing I would like to see: - Perhaps you can have elevated terrain or some kind of border to clearly mark the places through which you can see the mails. I saw a gap between the fence posts and the trees through which I should've been able to shoot the mail, but wasn't able to because of an invisible wall; - or you could also allow players to shoot through the gaps!

Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

revetoon 2023-05-04 07:38

Very cool game. I loved the art and music. The different gameplay phases were also a nice addition. The sorting part is difficult but fun. The delivery part was good ! The bindings are a bit difficult, maybe using the mouse for the sorting part would be better ? I did not have any timing issue, I always had enough time to sort + deliver all of the letters (which I liked, because timed game are hard to balance in Game Jam)

alex-chertilin 2023-05-04 08:24

1229 I like GPS)

rakowu 2023-05-04 08:59

Feels like a relaxed round trip through france :D I still don't quite understand what the red zone is all about. Time loss? I think the design is very nicely done and the sorting is fun.

sneakyfox 2023-05-04 21:11

This art is insane!!! Excelent job! Sorting letters is quite hard, thanks for not panishing for this) Atmoshere is very good, nice vibes)

wakobu 2023-05-05 17:06

Awesome game ! Super polished ! The amount of assets you produced is just crazy ! Gameplay is nice, I loved the sorting phase. It just lacks some sound effects

dmitrygalias 2023-05-05 19:27

Nice game!Perfect fit the theme. Music and art are amazing. It's an interesting desision to make a crossbow to throw the letters.

mrbamboo 2023-05-11 00:53

@vidu vraiment plaisant de jouer avec une ambiance super décontracté et positive. J'aime vraiment le style où on peut se promener partout à travers la carte ! Très bien fait !

scrapmetal 2023-05-15 11:56

WOW. So ambitious!! :open_mouth: I can't believe how much of a full game you have here in this amount of time. It's really impressive. I love the art style and vibe!

I also loved the sorting part before the delivery, it really added a lot! At first, my instinct was to drag and drop letters to each box, (which would've been a fun tactile element, but for time sake, it's totally understandable).

My only bit of feedback was related to the mailboxes. I had to check the map a lot, which was really critical in knowing which mailboxes to deliver. (A hard lesson on my first day when I rode out the opposite side of the city by accident. LOL). But it would've been nice to indicate a slightly diff color or some way to know as you pass it, which mailbox needed the delivery. Even after checking the map, I found myself just shooting letters at every mailbox. :joy:

trexxak 2023-05-16 05:02

I never saw such a pretty, well-organized art direction in a game jam game. Gorgeous stuff all around, fittingly the music and accompanying sound design merged flawlessly into the two game modes. Right, two games in one, that's the next thing. Amazing job! Loved the humour that shone through every so often, too. Mechanically, the game felt amazing and I always knew what to do next - yet most of the time I was simply in awe at what I was seeing. Amazing entry! Gorgeous!
