Love the idea and the artwork! Are you going to upload a Html5 versión or a Mac? It would be nice to try this one!

haastregt 2022-04-04 21:31

Amazing scene and artwork! This actually made me feel relaxed, even though there is almost nothing to do (well I guess that is kinda the point), just looking at the water, hearing the birds and occasionally catching a fish made me satisfied. Bravo!

Great mood ! Really nice to end a jam peacefully ;). As feedback I would say that there could be a little more unity in the style of the 3d assets.

icxon 2022-04-05 22:37

That's a lot of fish for a single cat

fredrik-rosell 2022-04-07 11:42

The idea is great(!) and the art fantastic. +1 to the previous comment about adding an Html5 version.

velvetlobster 2022-04-07 11:46

I like the firewatch vibe to this

velvetlobster 2022-04-07 11:48

BTW, why did you opt out of the visuals category in the ratings?

getsky 2022-04-07 11:50

This game is so cool, relaxing. I immediately wanted to go to the lake. Thanks you!

kobahawk 2022-04-07 11:56

Good game, very relaxing! Now some critics, at the start I thought "ok, but why should I keep playing?" cause I was just fishing and some simple commentaries, with time I realized that you wanted to hook the player by the story, so I think it would be a bit better if you hook some phrases since the beginning to raise the interest on what happened from the start so no one drop it at the beginning. But it is an awesome ideia for a little game, the vibe is perfect, good job!

antoined73 2022-04-07 13:43

Thank you all ! @velvetlobster I'll try to upload a webgl version if the webgl version is okay enought. I opted out graphics because i didn't made any models.

@getsky Thank you, did you made it till the end ?

@kobahawk Super comment thank you, indeed I can see that most people will drop out before the end.. Because in fact there is an end to it with a day/night cycle, but I guess it is too long to reach it x) It was my first try to make a story game, but I guess the story is not interesting enought and/or too long waiting time between sentences !

olivier-millochau 2022-04-07 14:43

What a cute submission, played it through the end ! I really love to see original or experimental ideas, it's quite refreshing. I think you really nailed it with the atmosphere (the day/night cycle and the fireflies are a nice touch).

20/20 game to play high, congratz on the submission !

Very cute and relaxing! With the game play being minimal by design, I feel like strategically adding some sporadic nature visuals (i.e. fish splash/bubbles in the water, trees swaying with a gust of wind, etc), would help hook the player into continuing to watch the serene scene. Especially if placed between story lines both for variety and carrying over that intrigue.

When you're not giving the player many things to do, there's a bit of a trade-off with giving them a variety in things to hear or look at. The changing day/night cycle, the fireflies by the end, and the moving shadows were all wonderful touches, that some players might miss if they're not hooked at the beginning. Adding in some ambient movement on the flowers/trees/bobber, or having the cat occasionally flick their tail/twitch their ear, especially at the beginning, would add some visual interest and hopefully give the player an expectation that the game will change visually over time.

Also I would have loved if there was the sound of running water, especially with the cat pointing out how calming it sounds! I feel like I'm missing out! But maybe the cat just has better hearing than me... :)

I really liked the story touches and you definitely nailed the relaxing mood, nice job!

Holy crap, you weren't kidding about this being a nice relaxing, soothing experience. Now that I'm done playing it, I think I'll just keep it running a little while longer to listen to your soundscape. Awesome work here!

devzhrssh 2022-04-09 08:51

I love the relaxing feel of this game <3

meta-link 2022-04-09 12:47

Great game ! The atmosphere is well done, and listening to the story while fishing is fun.

Good job

kemsou 2022-04-10 12:33

Very minimalistic but still polished experience! I loved it because it was simple for the good reason: life should be simple. Don't get me wrong, the visuals and sounds were impressive! but the gameplay in itself was very calming and humbling.

Thanks for this experience! good job

jzucc12 2022-04-10 12:39
