Great Job! This is a very fun game, although it needs more sounds. Keep up the good work!

Great Job! This is a very fun game, although it needs more sounds. Keep up the good work!
Nice ! It reminds me "poney island" one of my favorite game!
Cool Game, I liked the background story and the possibility of different endings!
A few suggestions: * I would have liked to see all endings but it is too tedious to play through the first days every time. * I would have preferred the commands to be lowercase. * Sometimes I had to hit enter a few times for the command to submit, because it was doing something else like marking the whole text.
I did play for the first 3 or 4 days with A.N.D.Y.R.U.S I think, but I have to say I quit because it seems that there was no ending at all. I know there must be one, but it was waaaaaaaay too long honestly. The calculations thing was fun, the fact that you have to walk backward and forward each day is great, gives a nice repetition feeling, however I did not understand the story at all... Too many texts, the story seemed fuzzy, and once I was in the game I felt like I missed something. Also there's no sound, the commands do not really look like commands, so I did not get caught into your game this much.
There's a good idea in it, but I don't especially like the execution, though it is only my personal opinion ! Keep up the good work !
@saering Sorry, I forgot to add that there are 7 days in total.
That's interesting!
I like the mood of walking in the darkness. I wish there was some kind of music, because it played only a few times :slight_frown:
The calculation part reminds me how I was learning a long time ago, that was fun :smiley:
There's some space for improvements, but overall good job!
Interesting concept. Good luck!
Very interesting and fun, it gave me some creepy vibes when i walked up to my computer, who knows... Maybe there was a dead body or a BOMB! Overall great entry!
Very original concept! It has one of the best moods in any game jam I experienced. I think though that if there was a little more interactivity, some more things changed it would make the game alot better. Right now it feels a bit unresponsive and players will probably quit early.
Played for several days till the vacation ending. Then read about seven days in total and other endings. Began my second session, but the game stuck at day 3 (?) at the word *sadly.* Well, I don't want to play through the first few days again. But the first try felt nice, there was serious tension and I thought about a way to solve the problem, the atmosphere is nice!
Good mood, but I didn't understand it at all. I spent several minutes into solve the operations and then I dead xD Canvas is not well setted in itch.io, so a half of the text box is hidden. You must use 640px of height (600 of your game + 40 of bottom options).
Thank you for submitting your game to be played on my stream!
Once the stream is finished you can find the video here: https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos If you want to know when it was played you can find your game in the queue here: https://tinyurl.com/y5rdokvp
Hey, interesting game there. Though I've found it slow to start off and felt like audio coulda really helped the immersion. Also, I love when these kind of games react to absurd behaviors, which I didn't see in the first days. Cheers :)
@lovetocode999 Yeah, I know. I just didn't have any ideas.
@boris My last game was compared to doki doki literature club and now pony island. Nice!
@jeremia First suggestion: I will probably implement a GOD MODE that is unlocked, by completing one ending. I had a script, that helped me skip days and do other stuff, so it would be easy to implement it and it would make the game better. Second suggestion: No. Third suggestion: I know. I have no idea how to fix it. People are saying to make the input field, but it triggers, when you click on something else.
@saering I want to add a text before every cut scene that says "Day 1\7". Thanks for suggesting.
@noobexception I know. I just didn't have any idea.
@falak Thanks!
@centauri No, the PC just had an empty placeholder sprites that represent computer components XD.
@leinades I know. Every game needs SPICE!!!!!
@tangiblegames Sorry to hear this. On day 3 I patched a bug, that if you hit the invisible YES or NO button, the game froze.
@neowedge I want to make a public google docs document, for people that want to get the bunker ending (aka. the good ending kinda). Sorry, to hear the resolution was broken.
@ursagames K.
@hugzfnr Again, I didn't have any idea for the music. Also thanks!
I know the feeling, got the same issue, pre-jam I planned everything to work on a music but then no fucking clue x)
I played it until the end waiting for something but at the end it's "just" calculation where I don't no if the answers matter, because at the end I always answer 5 because I was lazy to make the calculation. So it could have been something but this miss something. The transition between the machine and the end of the hall doesn't bring something to the game and is quite lam.
So if the "quiz" would have be more interesting with less calculation and more dialogue with A.N.D.Y.R.U.S
Nice game! I liked the style, graphics and stuff like that but I really miss sound! I had fun playing though :)
Thank you for joining my stream and submitting your game there! It's a really interesting entry, I am glad that I managed to remember the password because I did not know I was supposed to actually type it in at later points. I always enjoy games that have a compelling story.
Great job!
Very nice idea and story, I really dig it. Some things others have said: I honestly didn't want to go through the first days over and over again to see every ending. Maybe there is an option to do a save or something? Also sometimes the enter button didn't work, which prolonged it a bit (you know, gamers are impatient as f**** ;)) overall a nice and unique game. Well done!
Lack of sound kind of killed it but the setting and the overall story was cool. The math stuff turned out to be a bit of a pain in the ass but oh well... Nice job!
Really cool concept! It would increase the polish if you prevented the nighttime text adjusting to center align as it appears (most jarring when the line wraps)
I liked the innovation of speaking to an ai and the overall concept plus story, good job!

Hey, sorry but I didn't appreciate your game. I felt you were building not much upon nothing. Was that a calculation simulator ? Not really fun ... The story was fuzzy, nothing was explained. Facility of what? Who is Mike? Who am playing as? What is my job?
These are some questions you want to ask yourself when you are building a story: - what is each character's motivation to do what he is doing? - how does the reader learns about the world? - how does the player learns about the world? (not the same thing) - how do I engage the player/reader in each mystery I want to show - etc etc.
Indeed, showing mysterious stuff is enough to make something interesting. You have to get us engaged somewhere.
This is what I believe your game answers to each questions above: - he does his job... Not quite the most original or interesting motivation - throught the computer or Mike's calls, if he can understand a single thing - by having no chance of answering right at some point - by having us choose our password or our name? that's not bad, but you could have use this. For instance, the computer could have tell us our password to make us feel monitored
Anyway, you can check out the internet for tips on storytelling, there are plenty of content for that.
This seems empty. I guess you were a bit lazy because the theme was bad.
great game too bad some hints only works if you own a qwerty keyboard, maybe you should have something to say that they are on a computer that use a qwerty keyboard 'cause at first I didn't understood what number $ was supposed to be.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and I get a War Games/Skynet vibe. Playing again gets tedious, would be nice if there was a save state. I liked the use of math problems and order of operations.
Currently could not determine how to get the fourth ending.
very moody, I like that there's so much depth for a jam game.
@dk5000p If you still want to finish it, then use the answers: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18zQmnqKjse7E6A7jYpxGJuM5rkK2ZojtG3MsogZNihk/edit?usp=sharing
Wow, that was an experience! A good solid game, the idea is very cool. It was very interesting to play and unexpected to realize that there are several endings. Very lack of sounds and background music. Maybe a bit of a additional design. But it's great job!
Hm, I definitely like the Mood of the game. Nice Idea in general. But I think it isnt about "Your life is currency". And those Math tests are frustrating a bit (Im here to play, not to solve the math :D). However it was interesting to play, thanks :)
@nakami Yeah. Someday I will pick up this game and add some other tasks like: turn on the power generator, because something infected the whole facility.
@tamail Sorry, I just didn't have time, but I think that I've made even the happy moments scary, because of the music (music is a jumpscare lol).
@simon-rahnasto Wow! The first version made couple of years ago had the same problem. There wasn't even a password confirmation that have made the password thing a lot easier in this case. Nothing I can do about it.
@angiemon I'm making a GOD MODE!!!!1!! that will let you skip days and play around and the submit button is annoying me to, because there isn't a clear way to fix it.
@jsd Well, I sicked to the original questions from the version made couple years ago. That's why everything is math! I though that players would just use a calculator and that's why it's so hard.
@ecmjohnson k.
@soggybreadhands Yeah, I should have added something like: "Did you know that your computer's name is BLANK?". I've tried making A.N.D.Y.R.U.S. goofy, but I should turn some things up a bit.
@pl4typus a
@pl4typus a
@pl4typus I've made the story, when I was 10 years old. OK?
@miu It's better that I add a text like: "I was programmed on a qwerty keyboard and I don't know what QWERTZ, AZERTY and other keyboard layouts mean.".
@dk5000p As I said: GOD MODE is still in the making.
@daria-toni I run out of time for the music.
@alex-kpojb I was probably going nuts with the theme while I was brainstorming. Here's the meaning: Your life is just currency for him. He's making an army of himself , so better answer thouse questions right, or he will see potential in you.
@franciszek-pyrc Yeah, just couldn't get day 7.
@franciszek-pyrc I would not really call it a problem, it helps set the feel that actions matter. I found it to be funny :thumbsup_tone1:
Felt like the game was just too slow in general, the gameplay felt pretty mundane and the text scenes should've been skippable or sped up.
Pretty nice ! I wonder if you hardcoded dialog options or if you developed something to edit that ? With a group I once made a narrative game within a gamejam and I had to build a graph editor to make the dialogs
Well, that was an interesting game... I got the vacation ending :-)
Story-wise this is interesting, one problem I had is the controls. Why can I not enter text without first clicking into the text box? Where else would I want to type? Then sometimes I had to hit ENTER twice or even three times to get the text to be accepted.
Otherwise you raised my expectations very high with your text telling me to run the version that does not ruin the atmosphere. This made me expect something a little more immersive :-)
Overall an interesting text adventure, I don't think I experiences much of A.N.D.Y.R.U.S though... I might come back to this game again later. For now I will play the other games of people that have rated me before the rating phase ends. I think this game has more to offer but that it will some time to figure everything out...
Interesting concept, I had to play the jam version for the grades, it was a solid entry already, good to know that you continued to work on it and made a post jam version of it.
Nice job ^^
Good game, a little dark but nice.
Hey, congrats on finishing it in the limited time frame! I'm familiar with how long it can take to try to get a proper story into a game in such a short timeframe, and I think you did it pretty well!
