One of the best I've played yet for sure. This game has a ton of charm and a really innovative 2nd player mechanic. Excellent work!

The 2nd player mechanic is pretty neat, cool to see the different weird creatures you can make. The art style overall is really cute. Well done with the entry!

I don't have friends so I played this game as one person playing both halves and let me tell you it is very hard but also kinda enjoyable. I found the controls of Tiptap to be simple enough that I could kind of segment my brain into just my left had controlling Tiptap while my right hand tried its best to make a enemy that didn't look like after it was going to crawl up to me asking me to kill it after it hatched. I wasn't very successful at that but I did have a lot of fun trying.

My multitasking skills aside, this game was super fun to play, even solo! Only real issue I ran into was that I kept swimming off screen with player one. Really loved the art and the simple spawning mechanic. The story bits at the end were great. Good job on this one!

really well done!

zackavelli 2021-04-27 01:35

My favorite entry so far. Its fun to play both roles, art style is simple yet charming, and it is such a unique idea. Had it matched the theme better I would have 5 starred. Minor gripe for an otherwise outstanding entry.

ripter 2021-04-27 05:31

Love the art style. The game has a lot of charm. I played both sides and it was neat making monsters. Although can you lose? The tadpole never seemed to take damage. Even without boosting the tadpole was fast enough to move off the screen and out of view.

hungryroy 2021-04-27 05:40

Pretty nice! I didn't have anyone to local multi with, so I tried playing by myself. The custom monster creation is really neat! The graphics and audio overall are great. Kinda weird that I can swim out of the visible area though.

knipsch 2021-04-27 05:56

@ripter Yes, the tadpole can lose! The monsters can only hurt the tadpole if they have teeth, though, and the teeth have to hit the tadpole.

Cool game! I played alone, but will try it again with my wife later to see how it plays multiplayer :) The sound/music was nice and the mood change at the end was neat. Good work!

liammasters 2021-04-27 14:37

The music is so cool flipping between the 2 different moods. Great compelling concept and the art is very cute. I wish there was a single player mode as covid has put me in single player mode. I also found I could easily get lost off screen if I didn't pay attention. Really cool and original!

It was fun to play alone, but hard :D I like the two different parts of the game, art and music is very cute, and when I think about swimming outside the visible area, I guess that is the unsafe part and maybe it is the point of the game? I guess the player should stay in the safe area. Overall very nice game, I like it! :)

I'm so impressed with the innovation of your entry, I want to give it 10 stars for innovation, it's such a cool idea. I also loved grabbing someone to play a multiplayer game with. Your vector art is beautiful too. As far as the mechanics I love that you have to build the monster correctly for it to be effective, it helps so much with balancing in such an interesting way. Congrats on the submission, I'm really glad I got to play this one

silas-reinagel 2021-04-27 23:50

Very nice game. I love the art style!

tanner-shelton 2021-04-28 07:23

I really liked it as soon as I figured out exactly how it would play. I think the only thing I would suggest changing is one of the colors didn't match up with character. Or at least it didn't look like it in context, so it was hard to figure out where that would go. You could maybe even have a practice mode to try out before you play. But I really liked the art.

Cool art style and very creative game play. This would be a cool multiplayer game if you had separate screens and stuff to play from. I liked it. Good job.

midnightmist 2021-04-28 14:42

Love this! So cute and what a charming art style. It's awesome that you went for a local multiplayer game! Very polished as well :) Will give it another play with my sister soon!

Ok, this was to most fun game of this jam! 10/10.

jlmast 2021-04-28 23:16

I played alone so not the best for this game, but I do see how it would be fun to play with someone else. It looks very good visually! I bookmarked it to play it with friends whenever that Covid things gets away

Really interesting and fun game! I played it with my brother, and we had a good laugh! It took a bit of time to figure out how player 2 should play, since we did not immediately understand you had to drag the parts onto the monser above. At first we thought it was a kind of candy crash like game. Eventually we figured it out though, and it was great.

The game plays extremely smoothly and it is very polished, amazing that you managed to do all that in 48 hours. Here and there it is a bit unbalanced, sometimes player 2 was able to make a monster that just could not be outrun by player 1. This is also the kind of game you cannot play indefinately, because it gets a bit boring after a while, but of course this is completely fine! We also thought it would have been good to know how much the time the tadpole has to survive still to win, since this is not mentioned anywhere.

Thanks a lot for making this! I was very impressed by what you managed to make in 48 hours!

The controls are good and the concept is simple and fun.

2021-05-06 02:46

it's pretty fun to make the monsters. at first i couldn't figure out drag n drop for the parts (i know it's right there but, it's near the bottom and i skipped it on first read). another thing i found strange is that i had trouble telling when a monster would be able to chase or not. overall it's a fun and smooth game, especially when the monsters manage to chase.

belser 2021-05-06 02:51

Great BGM and UI! Even solo it's fun to see if I can defeat myself :)

pushxtonotdie 2021-05-06 03:32

At first I didn't get the hint that you need to put the traits in the specific places. Once I understood what they all did, it was a much funner game. I really got into building my little monsters. I would love to see more traits and the ability to build things up further! Great job!

tanis 2021-05-08 17:35

This is a pretty weird game. I mean ... the character looks so wierd, but it's also cute :) The music is a bit repetitive but the mechanics are damn good. I'm usually playing solo so it took me a bit to understand what was going on, but I feel that with 2 players this must be damn fun. Nicely done in such a short time!

seb-degraff 2021-05-17 20:02

I really like the concept and the execution is very good! Impressive for a compo submission! I played it by myself but still had fun. I need to come back to it and try it with a friend!
