Nice work! The potential for complexity with just a few simple rules is fascinating.

Thanks for the positive comments! We have a number of ideas on how to make the game better and I think we'll be doing our best to improve it, add art, and more!
There's a fun paradox in this one: it plays almost like turn-based time management, where the strategy involves thinking about what sequences of actions you should perform in order to solve each combat encounter you can clearly see laying ahead of you. This is so you don't have to think about them in the heat of the moment! Only being able to control one unit at a time using the mouse gives the game a "conservation of energy" requirement, where, when fighting, you need to minimize the amount of time spent selecting your units, mousing across the screen to give them a destination, dragging out special abilities, and especially decision making. That's why this is a planning game at its core. Neat combination in a complete package - fun pixel art, works well, cool music.
Hey all! Thanks for the comments and critiques! I've uploaded a new build of the game that should hopefully fix the crash issues people were seeing.
This is a flavorful platformer with different game states (crouched, standing, jumping), each of which you use effectively in the level design. The dialogue from the spooky scientist that has you under surveillance is a nice touch – the dialogue delivers excellently and adds a bit of environmental flavor to the world. The game remembers where you were so that dying isn't tedious, and it handles pretty well. I got stuck on the sides of blocks in that level where the spikes rise from the floor, but on that topic - the rising floor is a well implemented mechanic.
For a first LD game, it's uncharacteristically complete!
Very cute, well written, and self contained. Great stuff.
Lives up to its name. :)
Thanks, Lars! We are glad you like it!
And thank you to everyone who's played it! We appreciate your feedback!
Hi @shakedimus ! Yeah, maybe we should flip the y-inversion. I usually flip it myself. And you must shoot the sentinels to get the power cores inside. Sounds like we could be more clear about those being 'sentinels' not 'power cores'. Great feedback, we appreciate it!
@jeplmr you can invert the controls in the in-game menu by pressing 'tab' and toggling 'invert y-axis'. And thank you! I was definitely working hard, lol!
Looks like if you finish the day you'll get a number of nulls and the game gates. I really like the premise, the graphics etc. I've gone through a DDR phase so for me the speed and timing of the beats on the first day was not difficult.
I was very confused at first because I was attempting to stay near the panda and fire. It seems weird that the gun has such a short range. Nice work on the camera shake and illustrations!
Really nice progression and narrative! The pacing was great, with a fun payoff at the end. Really tight experience!
At first I didn't get the hint that you need to put the traits in the specific places. Once I understood what they all did, it was a much funner game. I really got into building my little monsters. I would love to see more traits and the ability to build things up further! Great job!
