Felt pretty dark and dismal, other than the sprite and lighting. The music really sets a mood. Maybe not the mood you were really going for it was a little hard to tell. The controls don't feel awesome and right from the get go I had a hard time getting on to certain platforms. You really need to give the player a sense of direction, I couldn't really tell where I was supposed to head or what to do other than just dig the block I could.
Yea, I agree, I made this game way too hard. It's better to keep it simple for the jams, I guess.

I think the art style doesn't fit with the map, but I like the music and the character.

This game feels cursed. The music, combined with the sad expression of the character and his shambling walk are... unsettling.
In terms of platforming, it's too easy to lock yourself in a location with no way to get back up, or simply fall out of the world into an endless abyss.
Anuke, thanks a lot for review. I tried hard not to make any dead ends. There is Restart option in the pause menu just in case. The only intentional fall possibility is only in the very end of the game.

I liked the design of the character, with good choice in colors. The dig mechanich wasn't very intuitive, though.

Cool game. The main character looks like a hurt little puppy. I started feeling sad for him and the music doesn't help with that (Don't get me wrong, these are compliments :) ). At some point I got confused as to where I should go (I reached a spot where a different terrain with bones starts, and from there I can only see platforms that lead back where I came from). Ended up in the abyss eventually.

I like the animation for the player character! I would have liked to have seen more of the digging mechanics used for the theme, since most of the gameplay seemed to be platforming. It is a neat mechanic, though, and once I figured out what I was doing, carving my way through the wall was pretty cool!
Labete @labete Did you reach the blue sky though? That's the end of the game actually. Congratulations! Some people find this map hard, to others it's a walk in the park. It's very hard to please everybody :-)
Brainloaf Studio (@brainloaf-studio) I hear you! In fact, I'm a big fan of boulderdash clones, and it's a shame that I could not come up with some cool digging puzzle with boulders and stuff. I guess it's what happens in stressful situations.

Thanks for submitting it for us to play! I enjoyed it! I think a few of the platforms were a little bit tough to get onto (like they were the "exact" height that I could jump and made it difficult). Other than that I really enjoyed it!
This was pretty challenging, especially near the end. I liked the mechanic of digging to be able to platform. A few suggestions, changing the jump to space bar and making it so platforms regenerate if you break them.

Cool art, it looks really nice, especially the character model. I like the idea with the digging and such. I would recommend altering the controls a little bit, maybe make space bar the jump button and click on the square you want to remove? Also maybe either add a way to respawn missing platforms that you dig away, or allow them to regenerate after a while.
Tanner Shelton (@tanner-shelton), Link270 (@link270), actually, that's a part of the challenge: be careful not to remove too much. It's the Boulderdash type of mechanic.

Nice game! The character sprite and the cover image look really cool. The ending was a bit sudden, but that's completely understandable for a LD game. Good job!
@svyatozar That makes sense. I haven't played Boulderdash so I may need to check that out to get a better idea of what you were going for.

This was a very challenging little platformer! Solid entry that really hits a dark mood, great job!
I feel like the jumps were a bit challenging and he definitely could benefit from a run function for the controls.
Love the music. It feels like a combination of games I have played in the past to strike up all sorts of feels as I feel trapped in this cave.
His design makes me feel like he is a boy scout

This game has a nice foundation to it. I do think that the difficulty could use a little tuning to be more "fair" without compromising the challenging nature you were going for, but I don't usually blame jam games for things like that since you had so little time to put everything together. Nice job!
