I liked the mood and graphics. I am assuming your main focus for the jam was the procedural generation - which was really cool.
I wish there was more to the game like an upgrade system or something, but when you only have 48 hours I understand you can only do so much.
Only gameplay critique is I wish that my digging radius was a bit bigger, because when I aim far away I end up hitting the dirt that is behind the dirt that I am trying to hit. And it makes it feel weird.
I found the cake :slight_smile:
very impressive! the procedural generation was cool, and i loved the vacuum mining mechanic. also placing blocks back down felt great, even if only needed to use it once. some lag at a few points, when standing on non-flat ground mostly, but i won't hold that against you lol. great work! had a fun time chilling and mining to the great music. would be excited to see more.
@jetthesimon Yes, the procedural generation and destructible terrain were the main focus, an upgrade system was planned, but unfortunately some bugs stole the last bit of time I had. As for the digging, that was just a lack of playtesting, I also feel the same after playing it a few times :D
@wizard-sino Nice! :cake:
@squigglez Yeah, there seems to be some bug with the physics of the tilemaps in Godot, not sure if it's caused by the way I used them (or my code), or if it's an engine bug... Happy you had fun anyway :)
The voxel-pixel style is great and the random generation is impressive. Nice take on the dig game genre.

Technically impressive game! The core mechanic works really good visually and gameplay wise.
It felt a bit slow and a bit long, and I had trouble knowing which rock where the most valuable.
Thanks for the game!
another really fantastic game jam entry. I love the pixel art. I didn't realize that you could fill the earth in with right click until I was told, but that made the game even better than my already awesome score! great job!
@doot Thanks, there was going to be npc's at the surface, where you would sell what you dug and buy upgrades, that was where the values of the ores was going to be.

Cool relaxic vibe - the music made me snooze off a few times :)

I enjoyed the digging mechanic a great deal; it felt really satisfying carving through the rock and ore!
I'm not sure if it's only me, but there were definitely a few times that the game lagged a lot. Not a huge issue for the jam, though!
Great work here! :)
@tad Thanks, I think the laggy parts have something to do with the tilemap used to create the ground, still haven't figured out exactly what though...
**+** nice music and mining sound effect
**+** cool fine-grained procedural generation + better ores lower in the map fits theme
**+** charming pixel art
**-** it felt a little tedious to dig tunnels wide enough to move through
**-** I was hoping to find something at the bottom
**-** I wanted an easier way to go back up
Great start, lots of potential!
I liked the look and feel and it was pretty relaxing. Could have been a bit more fleshed out, but I understand the time constraints. I really liked the look of the particles.
unfortunately my computer pooped itself before i could play much but i enjoyed what i managed to get through, at lease enough to get the main idea.

Lovely work, nice design and intriguing. after you hit a million you get a score, it would be good to have something to show what effects that score, a score counter for example.
@rovernoon Thanks for the feedback!
@minibetrayal Sorry you didn't get to play it fully, thanks for playing it anyway :)
@revilo It's based on how long you take to get to a million, the quicker you are the higher the score. I probably should have included a timer in the game, or at least showed the time at the end...
Very relaxing game. I scored 2400 points :) Reminds me of Cortex Command with the pixel-perfect gold digging. Great work!

Very cool and chill game, the only issue is the FPS drops
I really this, very well done!
I saw you comment in another game, and recognised you from Minetest modding :)

Went in a second time to see if at the right lower end is another secret. The tech is amazing and aside from low fps once every minute or so, it plays pretty smooth. Was a fun one. ^^

Hi,
Here is my playthrough of your game. I hope you enjoy watching!
https://youtu.be/rMymvTXdqUM
I did not really read the description my bad! So I did not try placing blocks and I did not know about the laggs :sweat_smile:
Nice little game ! Very soothing !
@rubenwardy Thanks, and hi :)
@leorid I so should have put another secret on the other side :D
@ausstein Thanks so much for playing! You're actually not the only one that has missed the block placing, somehow it's not as obvious as it should be...
Only complaint I have is that the drill was based on frame rate I had too many chrome tabs open and that kept the drill from drilling much at first. But after I purged those tabs the game was quite enjoyable. Great entry!
@caveman54 ~~Interesting, it works based on a timer, not framerate...~~ Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it :)
EDIT: Actually framerate still does effect it anyway ;D
overall great experience it was fun being able to play it and thank you for reaching out
A great and charming experience - was a joy to play :) Music was soothing and reminded me a lot of the first time playing Minecraft (digging endless tunnels in a trance).
As others have mention, other than fleshing out more gameplay (Procedural Generation in < 72 is great!) I only had issues with the lag every now and then, and this then causing the mining to slow.

Fun and polished game! The graphics are simple, and are consistent throughout the entire game and fit perfectly. The game did feel a little easy to me. I also liked the delicious easter egg I found!
Anyway, this is a very solid entry! Well done! :)
Btw, no lag issues for me :)

Wow, the cake wasn`t a lie :O Truly satisfying :3
This game is fun, relaxing and satisfying all at the same time. So simple and straight forward, the mechanics are working fine and are super fluid. I felt Terraria vibes from it. Found no bugs and had not experienced any lags in the webGL. The only thing I'd have liked to see was a walking animation, but its just a small detail. Amazing work with this game, congrats!
