Pretty neat game! The sound effects really add to it. The slo-mo effect sort of felt like it was decreasing the framerate, but that wasn't too much of an issue. I hope more people play this!

This is a cool little game. Nice controls and sound feedback. I also like that impending doom is accompanied by a jazzy beat. =)
Fantastic game! I've reach score 87, the powerups like the invencibility are so neat, also you can somehow once you know how to move to keep the meteor inside the planet! "rotate non stop, the meteor follow the platform" Great work! :v:
Really cool game, i loved the graphics, but i found a bug: when meteor enters the earth you can hold A/D and it will bounce from your shield giving you points without hurting the earth. But i really like this game!
Pong but around a circle (which is the earth)! Simple yet great concept! Art and sounds were good.
It's really interesting how making it a rotational game changes it so much. High score was 103!
It's interesting how we had similar ideas but executed them in completely different ways.
This game is very simple but extremely well-polished, although I wish it was more challenging!
Good job!
Nice little game ! But.. is this how you're supposed to play ?? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
asteroids_cheats.gif
@furano that is a definitely a bug, some other people also mentioned that but I fixed it and I will update the game soon.
Funny little game, well done!
Very interesting game, fun, I haven't played such games for a long time. Interesting music, graphics and idea. But I just did not quite understand why I collect coins? But in general, I really liked it!)
@alexsolonnikovp4 the coins give you power-ups like invincibility, slo-mo, and shields
Cool game! Really addictive, and as ambitious as it sounded, you made pong, but better :joy: Graphics were quite simple and it wouldn't have been bad to have maybe "levels" like different kinds of planets and as the level gets higher so would the difficulty. Just a random thought though, and i understand its a game jam game and the mechanics did work really well!
With that being said it was super nice and imporant that the asteroid got faster by time, and it got surprisingly difficult (at first i thought it was gonna be too easy but definetely wasnt haha).
Powerups were a nice add-up, for me it was obvious that they were power ups as I see someone was uncertain about it, and yeah just a nice and polished game. Also the sfx were super important! Nice entry dude 8)
@raffe thanks for the feedback! That planet idea seems interesting, I could add that.
Very simple but clever, effective, and pretty well executed. I made it to 147 at which point I screwed up and things went blam.
The art is simple but clear, I did notice the asteroid's trail isn't similarly up-scaled pixels as the rest, and that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. I enjoyed little touches like the chromatic aberration though.
I was happy for the music, but it sounded a little random and not really matching the game. SFX were solid.
Nice one!
Really simple game but well executed. I had lots of fun... until the world exploded that is :)
Very cool game, the controls felt right, the music was great! My high score was 247. It would be great, if there was an indicator, that shows if slow motion or invincibility expires, but it's not necessary, it was a great experiece in any case.
@krisztian you got 247, that's higher than my high score on my own game! Good job
@flaterectomy thanks for the feedback! I actually made the song before the jam and didn't have time to create a new piece during the jam.
Heyo, thanks for submitting your game to stream! It was a surprisingly exciting twist to the classic pong, and the powerups combined with increasing speed posed some interesting challenges! If you'd like to rewatch, you can find the vod here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449607637
As promised, here I am. Really well-made and polished game! Cool music, too. For me, the game screen could have been a little bigger. I got a score of 143. Great job!
@justcamh thanks for having my game in your stream, I really appreciate it!
@zimny11 thanks for the feedback, good luck on your game rating endeavors!
Simple mechanics but polished so its pretty good. A good game for a compo and even better having in mind you made the music.
Nice little game, would suggest making platform a little hard to stop (by adding easing on stop), to make things a little more challenging. Other than this, gj
Well you were right, this certainly is Pong but cooler. I was surprised to find out that you made the music for this game! No offense, quite the opposite, in fact. I was able to score 174 points by the end.
Very good job for your first Ludum Dare! Certainly a lot better than my first go!
this was a fun game but felt a bit to easy to be really engaging. i think if the play area was larger you could do more like add more asteroids, etc. a simple idea well executed, well done!
@radmccool Thanks for the feedback! It seems like the difficulty of the game varies from person to person. Most people say that it's pretty easy in the beginning but eventually gets very difficult as the asteroid speeds up. But I realize that it seems easy for some people. So if I am to improve the game I think I should have separate difficulty modes. Like normal mode would just be the game right now and hard mode would have multiple asteroids and a larger play area, like what you suggested. Sorry for the long reply, but thanks for the feedback again!
@moooks these are all solid ideas. good luck in the future!
This was a nice game. Loved the sound. The only thing I had a problem with was the speed of the paddle. It migth be tat I am a bit older but it was a tad fast for me. Great game. THanks for making it.
Really nice game. Gameplay felt good and I also loved the sound design. Also got a decent score with 155 I guess :) end.PNG
Very fun game! Gameplay was really smooth and quite addictive. Sound effects and music were great. Power-ups were a good addition to add some variety. Graphics were coherent apart from the meteor trail which could have perhaps been more pixelated to better fit with the rest (tho that's just my opinion). Overall the game was really satisfying to play, excellent job for a one man team!
The game felt very well polished, I really liked the pixel art and the trail renderer on the meteor! The physics also felt very consistent and I liked the increasing difficulty by speeding up the meteor! The sound effect for getting a hit was also very satisfying and the blowing up effect for the planet at the end also felt good! The powerups were also a great way to break up the gameplay!
I think the game screen could have possibly been a bit bigger especially when the meteor increases in speed, this wouldn't scale proportionally because then there wouldn't be much of a difficulty increase, but if it scaled slightly you could include some obstacles so its hard to predict where the meteor will go after bouncing off of them, to increase the challenge. This paragraph is a completely just a suggestion/addition because what you managed to do in the time was very polished, very satisfying and a very fun and complete game! The gameplay would also port well to mobile devices!
Overall, this is a super fun game, amazing entry!
Really fun! Nice graphics and audio! The gameplay was really nice, a cool cylindrical pong type game. Really responsive and nice feedback when the meteor hit! Nice job!

This was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the time playing it. I liked the power ups and it scaled really well.
I think I've had some years taken off my life with how fast my heart was beating, but I managed to dethrone the champion.

This game is really, *really* fun. It is such a simple game mechanic wise, but it is so well polished and well done that it hardly matters. The pacing of the game in terms of the meteor speeding up is really well done, and the powerups come at a rate that feels fair and balanced, and the variety in the powerups is enough to keep the game fresh. I feel like after 230 or so, the meteor does become basically impossible to handle with the current size of the game screen. However, the theme is 'delay the inevitable' for a reason, so I guess it fits. The graphics and audio are also nicely done and enjoyable.
Overall, excellent work!
@proxy-games HOLY CRAP! as the developer I haven't even gotten close to that score, in fact I didn't even think getting above the former high score was possible. Congratulations!
