Most important thing to take care is the player's come gameplay mechanic, and in this game it's the jumping. The start of the jump action should feel powerful and the action should take the player a bit further. The idea is very nice, and the outcome for your first game jam is a success. Keep up the good work.
We clearly feel the inspiration of geometry dash... But much shorter is a shame because the mechanical return in time is super cool ... A negative point, money add life but I feel it would have been better to unlock the Returntime or double jump and other skill etc in exchange for blood/life... after some collision concerns but overall it is a good project ...

@tasakasama Indeed, I had always wanted to recreate something similar to gemotry dash and thought this was a good opportunity! I agree the money could have been used better, but i think it still works. And the collision detection definitely needs improving, I ran out of time to improve it sadly. Thanks for the comment!

simple but efficient idea, good execution. Could be improved with some gamefeel tweaking. Nice job! Bien joué!

The game lacks a bit of feedback when you jump. It's pretty simple and fun to play but not for very long. The idea of the "rewind bar" is a nice feature but I feel like it could have been more useful. Also, I sometimes got stucked against blocks. Good game anyway !
The collision on some spikes just didnt work, I fell on spikes and nothing happened to me

@generalanimal after rewinding, the player gets a 3 seconds invincibility that might be why!
great job!
@oktarian make it more clear to the player, i thought it was just a bug
Loved the game, the only thing is that sometimes you stop the rewind and it keeps going down
I'm bad at those games ... Took me some time to get in the correct flow with the jumping. As you already said, the collision is a bit clunky but either way. Good aproach to the theme and fun little game!

I really like the music in this. Very immersive and well done. I like the rewind mechanic, though it seemed to not work as expected sometimes (i could walk on a few spikes after it happened once). Maybe that's by design and I missed the point. I stored 168. Don't know if that's good or not.

@jharler Thanks & well done! Indeed after rewinding the player gets 3 seconds of invincibility. There is an infinity icon in the top left when that happens but I think it isn't obvious enough!
The game idea fit the theme very well!
Enjoyed playing this! The rewind mechanic was really cool. It could be improved with a few tweaks, but you did really well! Especially with the amount of time we're given to develop.
My suggestions would be: * You've already mentioned this, but more clarity for when you're invincible would be nice. Maybe have the player flicker, or have some visual change? Like how in Mario games the player flickers, and in Smash Bros the player is more white and flashes? * I'd have enjoyed having it faster with obstacles farther apart. Right now, it feels a bit slow. * Maybe you could have more of a penalty for hitting a spike, but allow the player to control the time rewind so they can avoid it and feel awesome. Then, you could have special obstacles that would lead to harm, unless the player is skilled enough to get the reward and rewind without getting hit.
Again, great job!

@mrpiedpiper Thank you it means a lot! I am planning to properly finish the game so I will take into account your suggestions!
Nice little runned, the jumping mechanic is hard to control and I would recommend making a training level -or a super easy beginning of the game- to get used to that before introducing the rewinding mechanics to the players :) I like the idea of rewind, with a little bit more balancing I think your game could be great! Good job overall!
I got the highscore of 152!!!!!
Good Game, The Idea is great and we like the Rewind. But we found some bugs. Good Job!

The hitboxes of the spikes are strange, sometimes I can walk through them, sometimes I can land on them, sometimes I cant.

@jcklie you get 3s of invincibility after rewinding to get you back on track!

It's a nice little game that reminded me of geometry dash with those floor changing color. It's not bad but the jump is responsive and I find it hard to die in your game. Either you hit a spike or get stuck you got rewinded. Actually I like the rewind stuff because it didn't get me frustrated to not finish. I wonder if the level actually have a different size each time you start a new one? Anyway good job on your first entry! 2019-05-01 16_03_02-obsessed by oktarian.png

I found a bug when after you die you can't jump again, also when I run into plateforme sometimes I die and sometime not (without dying first before)

@miu after player death, you can't jump anymore - that's just coded on purpose!

I like the replay mechanics much. Nice simple gameplay which has much potential to be expanded. Controls are a bit clunky.
Fun game and the rewind mechanic is really cool! I had some 'problems' after I made the game full screen. Your game screen didn't expand correctly, but sometimes it did(after reload).
This reminded me of 'geometry dash' and considering how many hours I've somehow managed to sink into that (something with nearly 3 digits) that's not a bad thing! The art was simple, but works really well for the game you were making, and the user interface was clean and easy to understand. My one big complaint would be how inconsistent the jumping was, half the time the game wasn't registering my inputs, or was reacting several frames too late (which made timing my jumps impossible) combined with a jump cycle that was the wrong way around (you need to make sure that you land faster than you take off - yours does the opposite, you rise up faster than you fall which feels very wrong) and it was frustrating to play in all the wrong ways. The rewind mechanic was cool though and implemented really well (I suspect that's where you spent most of your efforts this weekend and it wasn't wasted) and it was a great take on the theme (which was a tough one this time around). Good work for a first time round - you've got the right stuff to become a great developer with some time and practice. It's far better than anything I was making as a teenager. I hope to see your next game in Ludum Dare 45, keep going!
A fun, simple but well executed little side scroller. Love the rewind feature.

Loved the sticky mechanic were you kinda of stuck to the cubes and could slide on the bottom of them. Wasn't the biggest fan of the rewind mechanic didn't add much challenge, if I died restart me at the beginning for being a bad player :P Congrats on the first game jam and first full game. Keep it going!!
