Liked the game, cool idea and intro. But, I don't like how the text keeps on interrupting us and doesn't allow us to get our hands on the real screen... That was a fun game to play!

The intro was really good, the graphics and sound as well.

The game mechanic is an simple one, so nothing new here. But it fits to the scenario. Just the hitboxes are a bit strange. I didnt hit an enemy (visually) but I get the hit-sound and the loosing screen at the end.

But its an great idea, with nice sound and graphics. I like it.

Simple game! :D Played it.

One thing that kind of itches on me.

So you guys had enough time to make a quick cinematic for your intro- but there seems to be some lacking stuff when it comes to feedback. I think it would have been awesome if you guys could add a "Hit" effect after a click on a mob/character or so.

In Game Design- player feedback is super important. We want every input we do to have an output. It just felt weird to have no sort of animation when I made a click on the Virus.

Anyways. Fun game overall. Simple- and definitely loved the cinematic! :D

@koemeterion Thank you for playing our game! and thank you for your feedback considering the hitboxes. We will look into that problem of dying without touching the enemy. It might have something to do with our broken character controllers.

@theclinthennesy Thank you for playing our game and telling us this feedback. We realized too late that we didn't have any animation for "shooting" and we also now found out that our audio controller broke and didn't make all the sounds we intended.

The overall presentation and graphics were very well done, and the intro was a great addition. I thought that the approach to combat was interesting, as it made aiming and dodging completely separate from each other, which I thought was an cool spin on the genre. I enjoyed the enemy variety, and it gave the game a decent amount of strategic depth. I would agree that more feedback would be beneficial. Good job!

Agree completly with @theclinthennesy review, the intro was amazing but the game laked some crucial animations like hit, death and attack animations. Also i find it weird when the enemy dies it makes no sound but it does when it gets hit. I loved the background, the mood, the level names. The mechanic was really simple though i think level 4 was a huge rump up on difficulty, i was using the Time to scan upgrade but i did not see any difference was that damage upgrade?

Thank you for your comment and playing our game @sachos345. There might be something wrong with the upgrade system code and because of that you got the wrong upgrade or nothing at all. The sound thing is also a little bug we left there because we didn't have time to fix that.

Good concept, but not executed correctly. Missing animations, you worked too much on the intro but that resulted in a "half-finished" game. You should continue to work on this game as a Post-LD Game.

Awesome concept! Love the idea of being an anti-virus program fighting off malware, but there are some things missing (understandable for a game jam). I would recommend making a build with a little more polish, would absolutely come back and play it again.

Really cool angle with the theme!

I loved the Intro stuff, there was actually a bit of story. And the way the scans/levels were set-up, it really sets the kind of mood/tone I was expecting.

Unfortunately, I only managed to get to Scan #2. I don't know if it's because the Raycast detection or whatnot(not a programmer, sorry) just wasn't very responsive. It's unfortunate, since I think the game has pretty good game feel. It is lacking in feedback, like others have said. Since I don't think you're using a 'gun' even though the control is 'shoot' you could still have a lingering animation of like the defragmentation or whatnot, and it could even hit a few enemies(if they're clustered) that may add a bit of depth to the combat, but it may also break the current flow- so I dunno, haha.

I don't know if it was the game's intention, but I would click, hear the noise like I shot the thing and it would keep coming at me for a few more moments before it disappeared- this is mainly why I didn't make it past Scan 2.

But, again, I do love the art style and narrative. It's a cool game, and I hope to make it to the end someday!

I like the concept a lot, and the intro was well made. As to the game itself: I found it too hard, and the moving around part seems to be fairly useless. The graphics, however, were cool, but the music was repetitive and got annoying after a while. Over all, great accomplishment!

I really liked the style and the concept, but I thought it was a little hard to tell what was going on. When it came to telegraphing things like shooting and what upgrades do, this entry fell a little short. Aside from that, though, this was a surprisingly tough little shooter with a good story. Nice work!

Agreed with most of the others -- really like the concept, but found some of the tutorial text a little slow, so I originally missed the fact that you could move around! It provided me with a good challenge, though! Really like the level naming! :cd:

I actually enjoyed this one a whole lot. For the theme, you really went with something kind of abstract here, but you know what? I totally buy it as being a 'small world' type scenario.

The cutscenes and whatnot are very nice for something made in 72 hours, the controls are pretty nice, and aside from hitboxes being a little big and text displays kind of being out of place on the resolution I ran it on, it was pretty good and I could tell what you were going for.

I think the game started slow but got hard too fast aswell.

Some faster action and actually seeing a laser or something that you shoot with would have been better. Without it I was just guessing if I may have hit.

Anyway, I really loved the music and the graphics! Thank you for your entry.

Hey there. I just played the game, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how challenging it became later on, considering it started a bit too slow. Still, this is a cool game, and I'm pleased I got to play it.

First, it got a great presentation. I don't usually expect cutscenes or the like in these games, let alone that they looked so well. That's certainly a bonus. And the overall theme works fantastic with the project at hand. Spritework, sounds and music went so well together.

Now, I am the artist of the game we developed, and I like to see what other people did with their games when it comes to art. The cutscenes were great for this kind of project. While I know that there wasn't too much time to add much more in that area, it felt a bit odd that the main character was animated while the viruses weren't. It was certainly lacking effects. Even a single frame basic stuff for shooting or destroying the viruses would have added a lot to it. But overall, it was good enough.

As for the gameplay, it started slow. It got challenging by the end, yes, but it was so dreadfully slow at the start. Just the first level was a hassle to go through, so when I got presented with upgrades, I only chose the one that would reduce the time of each level, because I originally thought that was going to be it. I kinda regretted not choosing speed when I found out it was like 5 seconds less only, and that at the 4th level, I barely managed to finish the level without getting hit. I was actually having fun at that point, even though my finger was tired because of so much clicking. The boss was a great way to end the game. Very tiresome because of the excess of clicking, but otherwise, it did feel like a final challenge, because of how huge it was. I actually got hit once there and had to start the fight again, but I had genuine fun there.

If your team decides to continue with this project, or do something of the like in the future, I'd like to give you some feedback, so you can do something even better without having to worry about extremely short deadlines. Polish it even further. It works great, but it's missing feedback for the player. Add visual effects to shooting and enemies getting hit. Maybe even power ups and different kind of enemies, like some that would split when hit or that are very fast and resistant, but freeze when shot. Or some that shield other enemies until they're destroyed, I dunno. But yeah, the main concern is that clicking so much gets tedious and dreadful, so maybe holding down the button to shoot or using area or effects or something would make it less an annoyance.

In conclusion, I liked this game a lot. The presentation is great, then it slows down a lot for about 5 minutes, but the 4th and 5th level feel very intense. The game doesn't feel very rewarding, but for those that like a good clicking challenge, this game delivers.

The gameplay was a little underwhelming after such an amazing/pretty intro, but the cutscenes kept me going till the end. Also, scan time upgrades are next to useless. Level 2 to 3 reduced the time from 89 to 84 seconds... really?!
