Reminded me some of machinarium. I was wondering how the game fit with the theme till the end. It tied the story together well.

lestat 2020-10-04 23:58

Very fun to play. All comes together nicely. Good job!

riley-miller 2020-10-05 08:49

Incredible. So many lovely touches, so much character.

bukkaketears 2020-10-05 09:05

It wins in the terms of mood created, really. No music, only robot sounds and some ambient in the background. Gosh, I loved it. The rest is really good too, nice, pixel art graphics. I'm not a fan of point & click though, but as it is short game, I managed to finish it.

Very good entry!

northman64 2020-10-05 09:20

Hey, so... Feedback:

I love this game  The pixel art has a lot of character. Sound effects are cute. The only bit of negative critique I can give is that the pause menu loads incorrectly (texts "Play" and "Quit" don't fit in the space for the buttons)

Personally, I think this is a fine addition to the jam.

neragoth 2020-10-05 17:31

Really beautiful game, you get carried away by the atmosphere, congratulations.

bereg 2020-10-05 19:56

Wow! That's an impressive work on art. I'm a huge fan of point and click adventures and that one hits the right spot in my corrupted soul. Thank you for that experience and the story twist in the end. I hope, you'll be able to develop the game into something big, please let me know, I'll buy it on Steam.

twoscoops 2020-10-05 21:25

Lots of character and love the art!

syafire 2020-10-05 21:36

This game was very fun to play! I loved the art work and the atmosphere. You had a very strong tone for the game. I really enjoyed the writing for the robot characters as well. They each had personalities despite being robots. A few critiques I have are 1. The inventory is kind of hard to find. 2. The power button color makes it difficult to see. 3. The movement was whacky/cluncky at times. Things I noticed was you can move forward while clicking the air. You also cannot put items back in the inventory. This game was also challenging and does not hold the players hand. I enjoyed having to figure out stuff with out being told. Overall great game.

tom-stephenson 2020-10-05 22:21

Great atmosphere and amazing art, I love it! All the robots really felt like they had a personality and the overall character design was spot on! The click area on the right side of the screen seemed a bit small when going to new aeras, so I had to click around a few times, but apart from that minor issue this was a great experience.

Congrats on a fun and atmospheric entry! :)

azagaya 2020-10-05 22:35

Great Art! Great athmosphere, great Sounds! really special game. I enjoyed it a lot.. Only thing to say, I would prefer the inventory to be always present in the top.

ryan-hallmann 2020-10-05 23:09

I love the world you put together, the characters all were interesting looking as well. Also fit the theme very well.

raniere 2020-10-06 00:39

Good art work! Congrats!

squidzilla 2020-10-06 08:18

I AM ROBOT I HAVE SOUL - Dude, your artwork is Lucas Arts quality. Brings me back to playing games like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, or Full Throttle. The animations, colour scheme and sound really brought the game to life. And it's a fun story! Really feel for the little fella. Just loved it. Amazing how much you got done in a weekend. This is the kind of game I want to be making :D

iluvatar 2020-10-06 08:55

@bereg @lestat @raniere @azagaya @syafire @testuser @neragoth @squidzilla @tom-stephenson @twoscoops Guys, I can't thank you enough for your comprehensive and useful feedback. I am so happy that you generally liked my game even though it was just a simple little story. Thank you, thank you thank you ^^

PS: I will try to play all our games as well, I have played some of your games already.

vadzim 2020-10-06 10:58

Cool artstyle! Amazing work!

koemeterion 2020-10-06 12:24

Charming and athmospheric. The art is well done and the sounds put it together nicely. Great work and fun game.

dis0rder 2020-10-06 19:35

I'm a real sucker for point 'n' click -adventures, so it's always nice to come check out what you've cooked up.

---

Really nice mood and story!

I liked the unique robot-designs, and the consistent style. Even though it's short, it succeeds in the world building-department.

(Also, the way the broken robot seemingly farts was a humorous little detail!)

---

One thing that would benefit a game of this genre would be some responsiveness when you try to combine items with (usually wrong) hot-spots.

I was almost certain that if you'd try to hit other robots with the hammer, you'd get some humorous remarks from them!

Of course every bit of extra-dialogue always means more work, but they make adventures like this even more immersive.

---

But yeah, I like the stuff you do. Keep up the good work!

(Ps. For some reason the Linux-version didn't have sound, so I ended up playing the game using WINE.)

iluvatar 2020-10-06 19:57

@dis0rder Hello! Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yeah, the linux version is kinda like "generated by proxy" when compiling the game. I simply generated the game and it automatically creates this Linux folder within the game folder. I forgot to remove it as I often do :)

I agree that I missed many things I wish I had more time to add even more details such as more responses, longer dialogues (well, longer for these low IQ robots anyway), and more interactions, but I tried to do my best to at least focus on the important stuff.

oillen 2020-10-07 12:35

Really good at generating a mood, I felt confused like poor K4. From the gameplay perspective it remembered me on your entry "Blaze from Outer Space" - though imho there items were better used than in this entry. The first time you can actually use a item is after two combinations of them, the game did not tell you that items can be combined - I believe Blaze did, indeed I don't play a lot of point&clicks. and then you actually get literally the items you need and get told where to use them ... so it feels to me that it's hard at the start and then turns to idle-difficulty. Thats a lot of words for actually the only point I want to criticize on your game, the rest is pretty good from controls to artstyle - actually I would like to play longer & more complex versions of your games that might go for 1-3h. Well done Gabriel.

iluvatar 2020-10-07 13:32

@oillen Thank you very much for your kind words! I didn't even think for a second that it is similar to Blaze from outer space, but the fact that you remember my entry from like two years ago, is really heartwarming!!!

Yeah, normally I would be focused on more details, such as interesting combinations and interesting puzzles and dialogues, but needless to say, it is a Jam and I had only so much time.

A good point about the fact that I didn't inform the player about item interactions. I definitely should have done that. I think I just took it for granted that people know this stuff, but I simply forgot that P&C adventures are not popular anymore :)

Thank you once again for playing my game and I am really really happy you enjoyed it.

sztobar 2020-10-08 10:06

Haven't played any click&play game in ages! It took me time to remember that in that type of game you can combine items in your inventory. That was my only moment when I was stuck, after that it went smoothly. I really dig atmosphere and visuals in your game.

ricargoes 2020-10-08 13:40

The pixel art is the nicest I have seen in a while! It gives the game an awesome atmosphere. The story is very well thought out, tying with the theme in a very cool way.

On the downsides, the game is a little bit railroaded with just one way to go forward, which is not specially difficult to find. Though that's understandable given the level of detail you have given to every aspect of the art.

Congratulations for making such an amazing game! And thank you for the linux build!

nsadie 2020-10-09 18:29

Excellent atmosphere and a pretty good little story! I enjoyed the characters and exploring your world!

The only critique I can give is that I wished the robot moved a little bit faster as there is a lot of going back and forth (but this is almost a staple of point and click games)!

arzi 2020-10-10 21:23

First, the art is great, love the style! Also the story was pretty endearing and used the theme well enough.

I think it would have been cool if you could have gone from the last screen to the first one, effectively creating another loop. Also it took me a while to realise I can combine items, as it was not said anymore, even if it is quite standard point and click fare, it's not present in all games of the genre. It would have also been nice if there had been some acknowledgement when using items on hotspots they're not working with.

All in all, very good!

sekol 2020-10-26 18:26

Great game, especially the beautiful art! Keep up the good work.

2022-04-22 16:50

I really like that game and I would love to play this game. I am all free now from my assignment homework and it is only become possible because of this https://edubirdie.org/edubirdie-review-the-most-honest-and-reliable/ website where I found the reviews for Edubirdie service. Now, I can play games all the time and my parents also won't stop me from playing games.
