fun clicker game. would have liked to unlock more than just flowers
It was well executed, good graphics and OK sound. But a little annoying that everything disapeard when you brought new land and you had to start over. But i enjoyed it, goodjob!
@shelldragon Thank you for playing
@appoxgames Originally we wanted just to pile on the new lands(tiles), but since we have a 'Start with nothing' theme we have decided to change that and that is why you have to start over again ;) Thank you for kind words and your time playing our entry
This is really satisfying. I built a house on a lake with a tree house beside my windmill and just watched the money roll in! Graphically beautiful. Game play was really relaxed. The only things I noticed was that sometimes you would try to put, for example, a bush in front of a tree and the tree would end up in front of the bush. The music was good, but I'm not sure it was relaxed enough for this particular game. Overall, though, I really enjoyed it! Good work!
Nice game! Compelling artstyle, sound was a bit offsetting imo but it's better than no sound!(like our entry haha)
@human-writes-code You are correct about the issue with placing the objects on top of each other, unfortunately we didn't manage to fix that, so this can happen :) Really glad you enjoyed it though! Thank you!
@laurens Thanks!
Nice artwork and overall style, I like it.
Really nice how you merged the clicker genre with making your own island. It's pretty cool and satisfying!
Very intersting game! I love this type of the game. Can't resist to see the money grow rapidly!
The art is lovely! I love how the water laps at the edge of the island! I think the music could use more work to match the tranquil vibe of the game. I also like how you used the theme :)
Nice game, I like the graphics and see my island evolve :)
Really relaxing, and charming game. Just what i needed to start my day. Unfortunately I couldn't unlock last tile :/ gra.png
Very impressive game for such a short time!
More audio would be a welcomed addition
My major issue was while playing that I lost the current island on upgrade - it kinda killed the motivation to play :slight_frown: I would much rather not lose progress (start over) but at the same time have increased costs of things I place (or something similar to counterbalance keeping one island)
Nice clicker game, especially art is charming :) I couldn't unlock the last locked tile.. I'm on the biggest island and it's filled with lakes.. maybe I should build also some houses or something :)
Very relaxing, the pixel art was beautiful and the minimal music enjoyable. Found myself wanting to build a huge town after a while and see it produce massive amounts of income :) Great work!
Nice game! Very relaxed indeed. Fun fact: you can put buildings in the middle of the sea... if you left-click on the toolbar! ;D

*Note: I like my islands balanced, with a little bit of everything (and flowers).*
Also, I wished clicking on the tile button when you're on the last island did a simple refresh, so that I could try to build it differently a bunch of times, until I reach the perfect one. Right now I guess I just have to start again if I want to build a different "ultimate" island?
@jiri-hysek The last tile had to be removed in the last hour since we were not able to implement the last feature. Sorry about the confusion, so I can confirm, you have unlocked everything! :)
@kornel Thank you for your time playing! Loosing the island is the feature bound to the theme 'Start With Nothing' however I mentioned above, the original idea was different :) The sound contains just 3 tracks, and the truth is that the time pressure did not allow us to add more, perhaps with some future updates ;)
@mateusz-wojtkowski Whoa, thanks for sharing the screenshot! I am really glad that our game was able to start your day in a good way! And the last tile is just a blank fill of a feature we were not able to implement at the very end. Thank you for your time!
@jan5366x @redxet @treasonousflock @hydrate @lonewolfdev Thank you so much for stopping by and playing our game, we will make sure to return the favor! ;)
@adngdb Thank you for screenshot and feedback! Unfortunatelly yes, you'll have to start again, if you have reached the last island and want to build on different one. It works only one way and the one you have on your screenshot is the last one. But this is actually really good idea we haven't thought about. Putting it on list to some future updates! Thank you so much!
@zanzavar Thank you for kind feedback, glad you enjoyed the game
Lovely game ! Really enjoyable
Nice game very goods graphics and music, it was a little upsetting to star over each time and i have buy a new tile a little too fast x) I've made a game like this for another jam if you want to see https://games.raccoonlabs.fr/Biotope/ Good luck and again nice jobs :)
@radonraph Thank you for playing our game, I tried Yours and it is really very similar :) Good job. Also as mentined above, as we wanted to respect the theme 'You start with nothing' we implemented that each new land will erase everything ;)
@furano Thanks! ;)
This is really nice. Spent WAAAAY to long playing it. Very addictive :D
Really nice and relaxing, here is my island:
Sem tÃtulo.png
The graphics are neat, and while minimalistic (which i like), they are very pleasant and fit the relaxing theme. The game also fits very well in the jam theme. I guess that the music could only be longer as it is supposed to be playing on loop several times, in order to grant some variety. In any other aspects, i cant complain. Excellent job.
ISland.PNG Just adding this here. I am still playing it. REALLY like this. The little touches of animation on the windmill and water are lovely. Sound is supportive but not too intrusive. Great stuff.
Able to make some really pretty islands, enjoyed this little themed clicker a bunch :)
@derek-volker Thank you so much for sharing your island and Your feedback! You are totally right about the music, we really struggled with the time at the end so we managed to fit in only 3 loops. Well till next time ;)
@skyeward Thank you for stopping by and sharing Your feedback! Much appreciated
@designernap Thank you so much for your screenshot and feedback. I am really glad to hear that this little thing can be enjoyable! Thank You for Your time!
Relaxing indeed ! A great entry for this jam, and a neat concept ! I didn't liked the music at all, found it really stressful for that kind of game. The possibility to put stuff in the middle of the sea is a bit confusing too.
Good job anyway, that was cool :D
@eryph There are many bugs and put stuff in the middle of the sea is unfortunately one of them :) We will work that sound next time. Thank you so much for the feedback! ;)
Really fun nice ambience enjoyed making the islands.Screenshot (41).png
Relaxing indeed. Nice graphics and has a polished feeling. I found the information panels a bit small and hard to read. Beside of that this was a fun expierence and had a nice idle & creativity touch.
I ended up having to mute the game because I found the music pretty harsh, but other than that the game was really relaxing to play through. You absolutely nailed the mood you were going for, and I think the graphics played a big role in that.
Designing my ideal little island was super engrossing, too.
I wish I could play it moreisland.png
Very first impression (the opening) was great but quickly I was put out of mood because of sound which is not really relaxing ( i would really like to hear some ocean sounds with some calm music.)
Also beacuse this is idle clicker I started optimizing process really fast(not relaxed again :P). I really like idea of idle clicker where you can do something creative so good job in this regard.
Nice entry overall.
Screenshot 2019-10-08 17.35.42.png Ummm. Cool game but...
Excellent game! I'm so frustrated of this grey lock that never got opened :( did I miss something? I wish there was more, excellent polish well done!
@louis-denizet I am so sorry, I will put that in the description at least, because you did not miss anything, it is just that we have prepared one more feature, that did not make it to the release, so we 'locked' the last tile. There is really no way you can open this one. And thank you so much for Feedback! Glad you enjoyed our little thing
@cpokered yep, we know, there are bugs on our island ;) Cheers
@burczy Thank you for the feedback!
@freypodgames @miu Thank you for sharing the screenshots, looking real good!
@koemeterion Thank you for playing mate, truth is that we could have done bit better job with many areas and the font size is defo one of them. Glad you had some fun though ;)
@mathemagician Really glad to here that you enjoyed the creative process. Thank you for the feedback and time with Our Game ;)
Great game ! i'm Robinson Crusoe
Oh, I thought there will be more at the end! Very nice and relaxing game, I love the little windmills and the forest!
Somehow all items except flowers are locked. So it's very zen game for me. zen.png
Graphics are nice and colourful. Cool music but a little bit much for a calm game like this. It seemed the most efficient money maker was always flowers? I didn't have any problem unlocking anything, I just clicked the icon when I had enough money. The idea is really cool, and slowly building up an island is neat but I didn't like losing all I has built so far. It's a really solid idea and a lot of it is really good, there's just a few minor things that could be changed.
Haha, only at this stage I realized that I need click RMB to unselect flowers. zen2.png
Looks really nice, but it's not really balanced. If you can fill the whole island with lakes, you just have way too much coins... But it looks really nice if you do not optimize for coins but try to build a nice island :)
i always like a good clicker. This one has potential :)
The concept is nice, but the audio is really loud and abrasive. I got to like the 4-5~ island and still only had unlocked the tent. It's a good idle game though, I just left it to collect coins then buy multiple islands in one go
@pestodesign Yeah, sorry about that, unfortunately we haven't really put much thoughts to the ending, also the time management was bit underestimated this time :) Thank you for playing and the feedback! Cheers
@yaroslav-kravtsov First of all, really impressive how far you made it just with the flowers :) and yeah we notice that function of RMB is not that obvious for some players as we thought would be :P Anyway thanks for playing and your feedback
@bocodillo you are right that the money optimization is not our strong side, we made either very hard or pretty easy coin models, so we stick with the easy option at the end since we didn't want this to became such a pain to get more coins. Well lesson learned, more planning upfront next time ;) Thank for feedback, much appreciated!
@redwiliax @almighty-games @smbe19 @falu Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!
Had to read the comments here to understand that you can unlock new buildings by clicking on the icon. I felt that the pacing was way too slow and resetting the island everytime wasn't that fun. The background music is gastly to be honest ^^
Still, I like the concept and the visuals!
@m-dam Thank you for the feedback and Your time spend with our game. I mentioned that in the comments already, the decision of the reset the progress with each new tile was based on the theme ;)
Beautiful little game with charming pixel art. It felt like it ended as soon as it gained momentum, but thats common with LD games, so no loss there. Well done!
@anticdope Thank you so much for the feedback!
I like your art! The water effect is great. Lovely game.
Very cool, but having to right-click to deselect your current item before clicking a new item is super unintuitive. For a while, I couldn't figure out why the items were still locked even though I was clicking on them with enough money to unlock them.
Also the "island size limit" is a key part of the game that isn't visible anywhere on screen, it really should be a progress bar somewhere.
@matt-rix thanks for the feedback! Have to agree with you that both things you mention could have been more intuitive. If we decide for an update, those will be among first things we'll do.
@moechen Thank you so much! Glad that even those little things are notice-able :)
Congratulations for the game. Nothing innovative, but interestingly used the theme. It's a very polite game and I ended up getting a small bug (normal). I'd like to talk about the audio part (which is my area): The music is very bad. Not the music itself, but how it is used. The game does not have much to pay attention to. The player just keeps clicking and waiting for the money to reach the limit to pass the level. The brain gets bored easily. I myself left the computer several times and dropped the game there. Since the game itself does not hold much attention, perhaps a good music can do this. My tips: - Make SEVERAL short musics that keep playing randomly (like the "style of the moment": Lofi hiphop. Maybe others too). - Make a great and interesting music that is looping (then review how long gameplay your game has and get a good time of music not to get bored too); -Make music grow along with the island and unlocked items, adding instruments, tones, etc. Sound effects would also be a good way to give oxygen to your gameplay. i miss that. Congratulations again.
This is our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/soundscapes
Nice game. I think it would help, if you would have some bar or values, that show how much space you have on your island and how much is left.
This is a fun and relaxing little clicker game. While there isn't anything particularly innovative, it is very well done and managed to hold my attention far longer than I expected. Good job
Relaxing island game! I unlocked the lake and reached the max limit of island size. Looping music started to get annoying after some time. Nice entry!
@euler-moises Wow thank you so much for such amazing feedback! The truth is that sounds/music in general are a huge pain for us, and to be honest we struggle with that every time, and this time we were really under time pressure, hence I totally agree with all your points. We really want to change that to the future, because we know that sounds especially can do a huge favor to any gamedev project. Thank you once again!
@le-don @recursor @bilalch213 Thank you so much for spending a time with our game and leaving the feedback!
Awesome game. Been having a serious blast with it. Still not sure what that last unlock is though... secrets! My favourite layout so far...
Untitled.png
Yet another awesome game form you guys. Always a pleasure to play.
Very fun! The first part is a little bit grindy.
So I left for 30 seconds to prepare a meal (kettle was whistling) :flushed: Capture27.JPG
Came back just to upgrade to the max, and as there was nothing left to do, I just made my world: Capture28.JPG
***** The graphics are spectacular! I wish there were calm sound effects for placing/clicking tiles, but the music was peaceful.
It's sad that you did not implement the last tile though. However, as is it's really well done. In terms of polishing, larger maps to counter that insane increase in wealth could be an idea. It was a bit underwhelming when I realized I got to 3x3 and that was it. But I did continue on to decorating.
An indicator to how much you can place would have been nice instead of strategically hoping you don't see the warning preventing you from adding more tiles. I assume it was infinite on the largest map (as I was able to forever build, or maybe did not reach a limit yet) but I was in fact anxious about my placements, trying to get in as much decorations as possible without seeing the warning limit reached. The subtle things go a long way I guess
Love all the creativity in theses comments though, I'll leave with my world here as well: [theisland.gif](https://jin9310.itch.io/theisland)
This was a really relaxing and satisfying little game with AMAZING art and cute music. If I were to give any feedback, it would show the sprites that are lower on the island in front of the ones that are above. I ended up with a score of 10,000,000. Awesome job, Loved it!
Nice and relaxing clicker. :relaxed: :relaxed: The graphics are awesome and the music really nice fitting the relaxing style of the game. I wish I had more patience (I only unlocked the first 4 objects but still the experience was amazing! The fact that you start with nothing at each new "level" was an nice implementation of this LD theme! Excellent entry!!!
I had fun playing! I like the sprite/animation work. Friendly and relaxing aesthetic. I thought the mechanic of starting with nothing every time you add a new island tile was a great use of the theme. I wasn't a fan of the music but it was nice that it had music. Sound effects would have sealed the deal but time is always tight. It becomes ultra easy once you start getting money rolling in but as it's meant to be relaxing rather than challenging I don't think it's really an issue. Great submission!
On first play through Chrome Browser: It took a while to figure out that somehow to unlock the units (after going through a number of islands filling it with flowers) somehow it did not let me unlock the units, I instead have to harvest some flowers for additional coins, and that somehow trigger the ability to finally unlock the other units for deployment.
Second play-through and read the description for further controls: no problems here.. (on-screen controls for listing all the necessary controls will fix that)
Really cute pixel art, Nice touch on the animated aspects of the buildings and Lake.
wishful.png I was hoping I could literally add a lake to the island on the 1st island. oh well :smile_cat: I have no idea what lurks on the 'final-unlock'..
Suggestions: - Animate all the units (at least with 'weathering' potential; trees, tents, shrubs, flowers..) - Implement secondary tier of unlockables after attaining the lake/forest: - lilypads - ducks (random chance of swan or golden-goose or unlockable creatures by chance) - Golden-goose lays golden-eggs for massive coins; or Easter-eggs? - unlockable vegetation and variation for trees (apples, plums, pears, cherries) - weeds (dandelions, japan-knotwood, etc.. [leave them to have it invade the field]) - forest creatures: squirrels, etc.. - Weather or Season (Winter/Summer/Fall/Spring) - Sound effects at least for placing units, harvesting units for coins, etc.. - Sort-out the z-index sprite sorting issues (lower sprites above higher sprites; collided sprites compared z- index and adjust as necessary)
Loads of potential for further expansion on this clicker entry! :dizzy:
