Fun game. Had a few problems with the hitboxes. Everytime I used the sword I've got hit, so I used the crossbow 'til I run out of ammo.

I really missed drops to replenish arrows,that would be a great addition.

@viktris There are arrows in the game. But its hidden. You can use Power up to find it (which will affect the gameplay ) or you need to search well. :)

Great job with the mood of the game. It's a good story section at the start to set the tone, and I like that you let me read it or skip it at my own pace. It gets pretty crazy when you're down to a tiny circle of dim light.

The weapons felt a bit too ineffective. I found that the best thing I could do to stay alive wasn't better fighting, but just never attracting the attention of too many enemies at once. I'd like if my sword attacks could knockback or stun an enemy for just a moment, so I could avoid damage by timing my attack well and then backing off (like a zelda game or something).

Really like the atmosphere. That intro art is nice! Melee is hard and make you chug that dragon blood all the time which is fun. But i'd like to have some other way to keep my heath up :D All in all, great job!

I really enjoyed the intro sequence with all the art, and the gameplay was pretty smooth as well.

great game! good job! I don't really like all the sprites cuz some of them are toooo simple but for the rest the game is very nice keep it up! don't forget to chck out my game too :)

Great game. I felt lack of power-ups like heal and arrows to replenish the crossbow. The melee attack has a serious problem because you hit enemy but take damage too. Congratulations, greate entry!

A little bit unbalanced weapons. Crossbow felt a bit overpowered, unlike using swords seems too punishing. But the intro sequence covers all these flaws. The art, the stroy very nice , Thanks for the game :)

@plepletier Many have mentioned the melee attack has issues. We have to fix it. There are arrow drops in the game. But the point is the pkayer has to explore or use the power up to get it. We have to polish a many things and as you said we need to add a little extra power up too. We will do that in the future. Thank you for your feedback

Great Game. The art at the beginning are very great. I expectedthat the entirely game will be like this. LOL The ennemies are very dark souls. I found impossible to hit them with my sword without take damage. :/ And the spider... The spider are kinda fast! By the way, great game at all.

Good mood made by the graphics and sounds. Using the sword wasn't very useful due to be hitten every time you approached to an enemy. Also, the music doesen't stop and restart from the beginning when you start the level again, instead a new music instance stacks with the previous, which is annoying. Overall good game. Keep it up!

@Seanbeans thanks for your feedback. we already fixed the collisions and enemy hitboxes but i don't think we can update it now. we forgot to stop the music at the end because we added music at the final moment.

Cool game! An impressive amount of work. Wasn't sure if there was a goal (find the dragon maybe) but I did have fun running through the woods killing things. Nice work!

Hey guys! Overall I gotta give you guys some real kudos here. This game reminded me of Blizzard's Warcraft, Orcs and Humans in art style which is one of my favorite low-res art styles. The attacks, animations, environment, creatures, and mechanics are all very well done. I really liked how when you went under a tree or something, it faded so you could see through it. I also enjoy the mood, the aesthetics, and the fact you included a screen with the controls (which a lot of people miss). My only real gripe is that there is no way to exit the game that I was able to find, but maybe I missed it. If it isn't there, I would suggest adding one for next time.

Also, making the source-code available really helps the community a whole lot. It obviously isn't required, but you guys did so well, it would be a shame to not share how you did it with your fellow LD'ers.

@elitegoliath Thank you very much. This is our first ldjam and so we messed up a lot of things. Say the attack mechanics from the start. There is way to get out of this. But we think they way we implemented that is hard for users to find that out. We planned to change a lot of things and improve them. Giving users text clues to find theor way out. We hope this could be accomplished before the jam results are announced.

For the people who enjoyed our game we want them to give something better. As you asjed the sourcecode will also be released. Thank you. Your comments were encouraging and demands us to do more. :Slight_smile:

I love fantasy so I enjoyed the mood of this game. If there was more thematic music it would have been even better :) I did not really managed to consistently hit them without being hit, so I used the crossbow whenever possible because the sword was not really enjoyable. Good job, I liked it :)

It was almost impossible to use the sword to deal damage without taking damage myself. As others have suggested, a knock back would have aided alot. Still, a fun game nevertheless, just from the arrows alone.

Like many of the others, I wish using the sword was more satisfying, would have liked more feedback from arrows hitting enemies and sword strikes. A shield option would have been cool too! The music and effects that were there were nice. I really liked the art in the intro! Nice entry for the the time frame given!

Super gameplay style and unique theme.Better and Best than first game bros.It would be nice if the crossbow shoot has a sound effect.I didn't know if i fired or not. xD

Really liked the story part at the beginning. Cool artwork! Had a little trouble orienting myself to shoot at the enemies during gameplay.

The sketch is really fantastic. The atmosphere is good too. But I'm sorry I didn't understand this game too much. The meele attack is uncomfortable that I would rather use the bow. Yet arrow is limited. Besides I didn't see the goal of the game, do I need to kill all enemies to unlock the gate? And what's the effect of the dragon blood?

Good work on this entry! I have a few remarks I would add a different sound when the hero is hit something more like a yell and then I would use the current sound to indicate when enemies get hit (even when using the arrows). It was hard to know whether I was hitting more than I was getting hit, specially in melee. So sounds would greatly help here.

Is there an ending to the game or do you keep fighting until you die? I wasn't very good surviving so that's why I ask.

@jlreymendez Thanks a lot for the tips. We sure will take that into account when we develop the game further. And yes there is an ending. there is a key hidden in the place but there is bug which hides the key well :(

@yishalee Thank you very much. You dont have to kill any enemy at all. the goal is to find the key and open the gate. The key is hidden and the Dragon blood will point out the areas of interest. Along with that the health will be restored and attack rate will improve for a period of time.
