The music and sound design was super cool! I also liked the retro Sci-fi feel of the whole game.

Gameplay wise the startup sequence got a bit samey and when I failed the launch it put me right back at the start of the game. A checkpoint system would be nice so you don't have to repeat all the steps again. Otherwise the game conveyed itself well to the player I was never in doubt of what I should do.

owinmowe 2020-04-21 17:56

From the UI to the Atmosphere i loved everything about this game

maxathon 2020-04-21 17:59

So polished. I love this as a modern evolution of Lunar Lander.

The tutorial was a bit long for me. I'd love to play a version that's better checkpointed, as the commenter above me said.

Overall my favorite game in the jam so far!

abb1x 2020-04-21 17:59

Really Great Game! the audio and the graphics were really nice, good idea !

natan-wiegenfeld 2020-04-21 18:01

Nice Game!!! The start up was a bit long and repetitive but other than that cool.

robotsandmuffins 2020-04-21 18:02

I Love the all CRT effect and command based mechanics! Lovely!

maks 2020-04-21 18:04

Very nice music, and i like the visuals looking a bit lensed with a bit of grainy like an old monitor. Good job for one person! :)

dianacalistru 2020-04-21 18:05

When playing in fullscreen on the web it was very laggy and I only noticed after about ten minutes of playing that it can be faster :( I really like the design and feel of the game. The music also fits the theme and gives an outer space vibe. Good job!

soldierbear 2020-04-21 18:06

The audio/visual quality of this game is incredible for a game jam game. I really like the general aesthetic of the game.

woob 2020-04-21 18:07

I like the idea a lot, but there is one thing that wasnt good for me, the text speed. Everything else is fine, i like the retro cosmic sound. A real good scifi feeling.

kebabuturka 2020-04-21 18:20

THAT. WAS. AWESOME!

Thanks for such great entry!

NOTE:

INT / ERROR 522 in CONSEQUENCES there should be "UNSTABLE" but is "UNSABLE" ;)

pusheeneiro 2020-04-21 20:29

Great graphics and story.

mopkoo 2020-04-21 20:47

That's INSANE ! The sounds effects are very cool and the game feel is incredible, the best game i have seen on this jam for now

eldar 2020-04-21 22:42

This game is incredible. The visuals and the sounds are amazing; the amount of text you wrote for the communications is beyond impressive. Hands down my favorite entry of the jam so far. Are all of these functions and errors made up, or real aeronautic stuff?

It would be awesome if instead of being fully scripted, the scenario had random events: sometimes you get to the Moon, sometimes you don't, sometimes one error pops up, sometimes another. I can imagine myself sitting for hours and navigating the crew through different missions.

Some things that I think could be improved:

-The text speed is a bit too slow; I'd have been happier if it got printed out a bit faster

-The game kind of punishes experimentation (like, "what happens if I swap this sequence") by making you start from scratch, and coupled with slow text, it's a bit painful

-Player gets a "Continue" if they succeed in the aborted mission, but it seems like it's still the same mission? I didn't have enough patience to go through it again, but all the events seemed the same.

-There are some typos here and there, like "noise just stoped", "openning", "next ime", "reciever", "as follow"

-A lot of error descriptions just say "Internal Error", text for Error 231 is empty

god-colo 2020-04-22 06:26

Wooooooaaahhhh!! Those sound effects maaaan !!! I liked the post processing. Keep up the good work !

bastienre4 2020-04-22 07:30

Wow! Thank you everyone for your feedbacks. It means a lot to me.

@Woob : Text speed is slow on purpose. I wanted everyone (even those whose English is not their mother tongue -like me for instance :D-) to have time to understand everything. It also serves gameplay purposes. But I didn't realize it would be annoying to some player. I'll see if I can increase the speed and delay between messages to compensate.

@KebabuTurka : Nice catch :). I didn't had time to spell check the guide pages, unfortunately. I'll fix it.

@Eldar : Thank you so much. Those errors are made up, but inspired from real events and error that happened. Mostly during Apollo 13 mission. It does punish experimentation (it IS rocket science, after all :p). Thanks for the feedback on text speed, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the typo, I'll fix them. A lot of error descriptions are not used, that's why it writes Internal Error. I put too much content in the game :p.

By the way, to everyone who liked the game, I really advise you to check out the NASA archives on Apollo 13. If you liked the mood of the game, you'll love it. https://apolloinrealtime.org/13/?t=-00:00:56

shanzhai 2020-04-22 11:21

This is BY FAR the best game I've seen this jam. I'd honestly pay for this if this was a bigger game. Everything comes together great and I just LOVE the topic, so it really sucked me in. So good <3

emperor-eagle 2020-04-22 11:51

Cool game! Brilliant atmosphere and a well crafted and polished game. I would recommend adding a feature that skips to the end of the text typing (I did read your comment concerning that however). Very neat job, I'm sure you're very happy with it!

keybol 2020-04-22 12:48

Wow this game is just perfect. Except for the lack of checkpoint. But everything, the art style, the sound effects, ambience it makes the player feel like he's in actual control of a mission monitor. There's nothing more to add or remove from the interface. Everything is amazing. I also like how it got intense immediately, it's not just about launching and landing a rocket, but it's inspired by Apollo 13? I like how the developer spent his time on research and since I've watched and loved space movies, like The Martian, I could relate with some of the terms and topics discussed in the game like using Moon as slingshot (referenced in The Martian). I hope you can make this into a much bigger game with tons of missions, side quests and more. I also played Legal Dungeon so maybe you can get some inspiration and reference from that game to make it a much bigger game. Because the concept is really there. Run away with it and the money you'll get with this concept :D haha

koemeterion 2020-04-22 15:54

Really unique game concept. Loved it and probably my favourite game so far in this jam. Well done!

sheinxy 2020-04-22 16:30

I don't have much to say!

This game is really impressive!

I love your take on the theme! The game looks great, the way dialogs are shown feels like it was shown on old computer terminals (I love it), the sound is nice, what can I say more, I love it!

(Except the lack of checkpoints, as stated before, it would have been nice x3)

Overall, this is ending on my favorite games list, I'm impressed!

gamescodedogs 2020-04-22 17:42

Thanks for the game :) Found the game on Twitch @instafluff. I love the way you showing the dialogs, sense of being a real pilot or an air force commander :) Wish you the best of luck!

randdir 2020-04-22 18:05

Really good ambiance really like it. Guess need few more graphics but it could impact the oppressive ambiance. Nevermind really good job pal keep it up !

thedoctoroftime 2020-04-23 03:51

This is insane lmao! I love the atmosphere even tho its just text based I feel like I'm an astronaut. It takes a long time to start but it's worth it!

rojola 2020-04-23 16:08

This is VERY GOOD GAME. I was RPG'ing my way to all the eventual fatalities. I would buy if on Steam. Do it, now!

deathstorm 2020-04-23 18:18

Wow that was pretty intense.

The Mood was outstanding and the feeling to controll this ship was awesome.

Amazing Game. Well Done

scott-steffes 2020-04-24 07:18

The interface is gorgeous. It really feels like you're crammed in somewhere looking at an old CRT. There's quite a lot of reading and complexity which is cool if you take the time to comprehend it, but can deter some people playing jam games. In the past I tried to make more complex games like this, but lately I've been going for more quick, pick up and play experiences which seem to attract more attention. But something complex like this definitely has more potential to become an actual game.

dextreon 2020-04-24 11:53

This is insane for a jam, I can tell. The sound and the interface was so good, and I got into the story quite hard that I spent a long time playing! Amazing job here, congrats for your entry!! :ok_hand:

crazyrems 2020-04-24 16:37

It’s a really good entry with a good execution on a great topic. I was captivated all along and had failed only once, because I read 1000m instead of 1000km… silly me 😅

The interface was clever and everything was well set with good triggers and nice flow.

Congrats!

2020-04-24 19:13

Very well written game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/rlppIbg4aVI

aurel300 2020-04-24 21:51

We streamed your game with Danae: [link to Twitch VOD](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599171054?t=01h51m53s) (approximate timestamp)

Cool game! The piece of music playing during the more tense part of the game was very nice. The aesthetics were coherent. For less of a visual novel experience and added challenge it might be fun to have all the interaction buttons on the screen at all times! (And appropriate reactions to the player screwing up the mission.)

raphy 2020-04-25 01:51

Very captivating experience, I was hooked and felt like a pilot doing checklists in intense situations. And to achieve that only with text and sound is quite impressive, well done! If I had a complain it would be the keyboard sound loop that was a bit heavy in my opinion and the HUD's values could maybe be more interactive (apart from the Moon part and errors they don't come that much into play). Thanks!

nathant 2020-04-25 05:58

Well written adventure. Excellent audio. Mood was spot on. Would have benefited from a text skip or checkpoint for failures (which I definitely failed). Great game. Congrats!

2020-04-25 14:27

Great texting game with tense atmosphere. The game transports me to the origins of gaming ! Well done !

lazzydev72 2020-04-26 10:50

Love the Graphics. well written Text great Sounds wellDone. Keep it up. :v:

firellon 2020-04-26 11:32

Wow. This was incredibly atmospheric and rather authentic. Teaches you one of the main qualities of the true astronaut - patience.

One thing I'd wish for is to have you not be put completely to the very beginning when you fail, so you don't have to go through the tutorial stage twice.

Otherwise, very impressive and immersive game, 5/5 Mood to be sure.

Wonderfully done!

trucverte 2020-04-27 16:53

Good game, I enjoyed the mood, you really believe you're on a space mission! It has nice dialogues too

celia14 2020-04-28 01:04

This is one of my favorites I've played so far. (I didn't beat it though - failed on the timing of the final thrust - but thanks for providing the video so I could still see the end!) It totally transported me to a tense space mission. I liked how the beginning eased you into the controls and the story. I thought the way the screen was laid out with the various components was perfect - though I'm also curious how it would play if you always had access to all of the systems instead of only a couple at once. The visual effects on the screen and the sound were perfect for establishing the mood. Awesome job!

disperse 2020-04-28 18:14

The presentation is perfect, I love the idea of the electronic guide you have to refer to during the flight. The sound and music was fantastic. Pretty much everything was spot on. I beat the mission on my first try and then went back into it a 2nd time thinking there might be a 2nd mission.

jiri-hysek 2020-04-29 20:56

Wow you actually made me to play a text game :) And the atmosphere was awesome! Also looks great... cool game!

zubspace 2020-04-30 09:51

This game is truly something special! You convincingly replicated Flight Control on a mission. The tutorial is great and after a few moments I really felt like being in control of the situation. Awesome!

The sound effects are perfect, the screen effects and status monitors are top-notch and the story is well done.

Would have loved to play more and harder missions with different things going awry left and right. This could be the base for a marvelous game I always dreamed of!

Well done!

nahual 2020-05-03 00:31

Nice aesthetics, 5 stars for graphics and audio. One thing I want to notice it's maybe a bit long introduction, but despite that it's a good entry, well done!

falzock 2020-05-09 08:36

The UI looks amazing I can't believe it is made with unity. Very impressive. The options the player has many options to choose from, but it has a good explanation. Thanks for this game it is quite unique.
